"Mosaic & Semantic Layer Unite Our Data, Plus Helpful AI Dashboard Suggestions"

5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

The Mosaic and Semantic Layer do a great job of bringing a large volume of Data together as one place to go versus jumping to multiple systems. Junior Analysts will really benefit from the AI Tool Suggestions in building visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards that meet their customers expectations. It's very loud in this room (with the espresso machine) however, the Automated Report Scheduling does seem to be working and has not failed me...yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

The speed issues in this application can be frustrating when trying to open Cube Data or Add Columns to Reports because it takes a long time to Refresh. We moved from On-Prem to Cloud last year, and trying to resolve some of these "small" items such as Masking Dashboard URLs or Importing Images Next To Links is taking a lot longer than expected. They are also getting rid of Command Manager, which means I need to Learn Python in order to perform things that were much easier on the backend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using it to bring many disparate data sources together into one Governed Platform instead of having to deal with Large Excel Downloads. In essence, it provides us with a Single Source Of Truth for Reporting, so everyone sees the same Numbers when making Decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hello Jeff! Thank you for this detailed review! We're glad Mosaic and the Semantic Layer are bringing your data together, and that AI Tool Suggestions are helping your junior analysts build better dashboards. Great to hear Automated Report Scheduling has been reliable too!

Regarding the performance with large datasets, we get how important speed is, and we're constantly working on ways to improve. We also appreciate you flagging the other friction points-this feedback really helps us prioritize.

Glad GoodData is giving your team a single source of truth for reporting!

"Effortless Drag-and-Drop Dashboards with Smart AI Visualization Suggestions"

5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I enjoy the ease of creating good looking, presentable dashboards for clients/management, because I can connect to various data sources, whereas previously I needed an IT person to help. This software has a genuine "drag and drop" report creation feature. The AI generated reports are also nice. It will look at your dataset and provide suggested visualizations automatically. And I like that the data connectors available are fairly comprehensive, as well as being able to hook into a number of data source providers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

The basic functions are okay, but the minute you try to get fancy with custom metrics or data blending you will be either attending webinars or waiting on customer support. A small pet peeve is that the pre-made chart templates don't offer much variety (especially when working with an industry specific template). Also, it takes significantly longer to load datasets and it will literally sit there trying to process the data and you will be sitting there waiting. Pricing also jumps rather dramatically after you move past the base level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

GoodData.AI solves the same problem as it did last year, however now it does so in one place, versus across four systems. Beforehand, it would take us an enormous amount of time to collect and combine all of our data in order to create a single view. With GoodData we have access to all of that information in one location and the reporting is automatic and therefore when someone asks how we are doing relative to our targets, I am not spending two hours preparing to respond. Hello Ivan!Thank you for the detailed review! It's great to see that drag-and-drop dashboard creation and AI-suggested visualizations have made report-building more accessible for your team, without needing IT support for every data connection.

Your feedback on custom metrics, data blending, and chart templates is genuinely useful, and dataset loading performance is an area we're actively improving.

We're glad to hear GoodData consolidated your reporting from four separate systems into one, and that tracking performance against targets is no longer a two-hour task.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly at anna.slabunova@gooddata.com if you'd like to share more detail on any of these points.

"Powerful Dashboards and Metric Logic That Boost Decision-Making"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

GoodData has always been incredibly useful to me. I love being able to access information and create dashboards, which is a huge help—especially for decision-making. Since we implemented it, I’ve felt that the platform has really solid logic for working with metrics and the suggested results. That’s been especially useful, and it’s what I’ve liked most about it so far. I hope it continues to do well. I’d recommend this type of solution to anyone because it’s working well, at least for now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

Honestly, I ran into a few problems at first, and at one point I felt the platform wasn’t worth it. One of my main early complaints was the learning curve; it didn’t seem like a tool I could pick up quickly. Over time, though, things improved, and it started to feel more manageable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

It’s a huge help in my daily analysis and valuable for many things. For example, it solves problems with the data obtained, provides good visibility, and is useful because it lets you understand what’s happening and work more clearly. For me, it balances technical and practical aspects well, and overall it’s very positive and useful for day-to-day work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hello Philip! We really appreciate you taking the time to share this! It means a lot to hear that GoodData's metric logic and suggested results have become a reliable part of your decision-making process, and that you'd recommend it to others.

We also appreciate your honesty about the early learning curve, that initial ramp-up is something we're continuously working to smooth out, so it's encouraging to hear things became more manageable over time.

Glad to hear GoodData is giving you the clarity and visibility you need for day-to-day analysis, and helping balance the technical and practical sides of your work.

We're always here if you want to share more anna.slabunova@gooddata.com.

"Empowers Our Analytics with Unmatched Security"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I love the workspace label access control feature the most because it isolates every customer data by design, automatically enforcing permissions based on who is logged in, eliminating the chance of the wrong customer seeing someone else's dashboard. The anomaly detection is incredibly valuable, helping us detect issues in customer usage data before the customer even notices, enabling us to proactively reach out and address potential problems before frustration sets in. I also appreciate how our analytical assets, such as data models and metric definitions, are managed with version control just like our application code, allowing us to see exactly what changes have been made and roll back if necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

When something in a dashboard looks wrong, tracing it back to the exact metric definition or data source takes more digging than it should. I've spent time going through several layers of the semantic models just to find where numbers went off. A visual line showing exactly which data source and calculation fits into a specific chart would fix this and cut down the troubleshooting time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use GoodData.AI to manage analytics for a multitenant product. It solves access control issues, ensures tenant data separation, and automates anomaly detection, preventing customer complaints and enabling proactive problem-solving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thank you for such a thorough review! Workspace label access control isolating customer data by design, anomaly detection catching issues before customers do, and version control for data models and metric definitions-these are exactly the kind of governance and reliability features we're proud to offer for multitenant products.

Your point on traceability is well taken-being able to visually trace a chart back to its source data and calculation would meaningfully cut down troubleshooting time, and that's valuable input for our product team.

It's great to hear GoodData is helping you manage access control, tenant separation, and proactive issue detection all in one place.

If you have more feedback on this or anything else, feel free to reach out to me anna.slabunova@gooddata.com.

"Powerful Semantic Layer, But Struggles with Large Datasets"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

What I like most about GoodData.AI is the tools that govern the semantic layer. Those features have delivered the most measurable impact for how we operate at scale. The flexible dashboards and robust data integration allow for seamless visualization and analysis of large datasets from multiple sources. Beyond that, defining our key metrics once in the semantic layer and having every client dashboard inherit those definitions automatically has been the single biggest time saver since we went live. Before GoodData.AI, we had client-facing reports recalculating metrics independently, and discrepancies between what a client saw and what our internal team saw came up roughly once a month on average, always at the worst possible moment during a client review call. Since deploying the semantic layer, those discrepancies have dropped to zero in the eight months since we went live, because there is now only one version of every metric definition and everything pulls from it. We save around ten hours per week after using it. It also lets our engineering team focus on the core platform rather than maintaining a reporting layer, and powers everything client-facing without us building an analytics engine from scratch internally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

The thing I'd most like to see improved is performance with large datasets. Around 90% of users say they perform slowly when processing large amounts of data for bigger reports, and they end up forced to export the raw data as a CSV file to use in another application. I hit this directly when one of our enterprise clients asked for a dashboard covering three years of transaction history across multiple product lines. The load time was long enough that the client mentioned it during our review call, which was not the impression we wanted to make. The workaround we currently use is pre-aggregating heavy datasets before they hit GoodData.AI, rather than querying raw data for large date ranges. That has improved load time noticeably, but it adds engineering work that shouldn't be necessary on a platform positioned for enterprise scale. GoodData.AI should prioritize native query optimization for large historical datasets rather than leaving users to architect their own runs outside the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use GoodData.AI to run embedded analytics for our SaaS product, giving each client a branded dashboard without building an analytic engine from scratch. My engineering team focuses on the core platform instead of a reporting layer. Defining metrics once in the semantic layer dropped client-internal discrepancies to zero and saves about ten hours per week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GoodData Saves Time with an Intuitive, Executive-Ready Dashboard"

5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

So GoodData has saved me time in that it puts all my information into one place so i don’t have to search through multiple websites for my numbers. After a long day at work i really come back to the dashboard as i am able to view kpi’s without having to create a complex query each time. I’m happy to say that dragging & dropping the chart function works well and did not fail me when i needed to put together a presentation for the executive team last week. The non-technical people on my team are able to utilize this system, which was a major goal of ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

It becomes slow (noticeably) when trying to process larger than normal datasets which is very annoying. When exporting excel files they always appear unprofessional (sub-totals and grand totals all stacked up) and i would never send an exported file to a client without having to re-format it myself. Also, every single time you make a query you must wrap the column name(s) in quotes which may be a small pet peeve but it is certainly frustrating when doing it over and over again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before we used good data, we pulled data from about 3-4 places and somebody had to spend hours compiling it, and it wasn't even always correct. With good data all of our data is in one location and reports reflect what is going on in real-time so we are no longer making decisions based off of last weeks number. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thanks for sharing such a detailed review! It's great to hear GoodData has become your go-to for KPI tracking without complex queries, and that the drag-and-drop chart feature came through for your executive presentation. Getting non-technical team members up and running was clearly a big win too.

On the performance side with larger datasets-we get how important speed is, and we're constantly working on ways to improve. Your notes on Excel export formatting and the query syntax with quoted column names are also helpful specifics we'll pass along.

Sounds like GoodData replaced hours of manual compiling across multiple sources with real-time, reliable reporting-exactly the kind of shift we love to hear about.

"Flexible, Easy-to-Use Dashboards with Fast Performance and Great Value"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

What I like most about GoodData is how well it balances flexibility with ease of use. The platform makes it straightforward to build and customize dashboards without needing constant support from our data team, which has saved us a lot of time on ad hoc reporting.Dashboards and reports load quicly even as our data volumes has grown.compared to other enterprise BI plateform,GoodData's pricing has left reasonable for the value we get. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

There is not much I'd count as major drawback, but a coule of major things stand out .The learning curve can be a bit steep at first, especally for less technical team members trying to build their own dashboards from scracth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before gooddata we were dealing ith scattered reporting different teams pulling numbers from different places, which often led to inconsistent figure and time wasted reconciling whose data was right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralizes Knowledge and Simplifies Reporting"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I'm actually happy with the ability to version control metric definitions. It lets codes and changes go through a review before going live, which is great for catching errors before they reach the dashboard instead of after a client is complaining. And with data lineage, it's impressive how it has cut the time to debug questions like 'Why does this number look wrong?' from hours of reading down to just a few clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

It's hard since the talent pool is much smaller than using Tableau or Power BI, so onboarding for a new analyst still takes longer than ideal, even with better documentation. The platform's strength in shared, governed metrics makes quick ad hoc exploration feel more cumbersome than tools meant for fast messy analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

GoodData.AI replaced our unmaintainable tools, reducing risks by centralizing knowledge and simplifying onboarding. It also minimizes errors with version control and data lineage, cutting debugging time significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Customizable, Yet With a Learning Curve"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I value the way GoodData.AI lets us meet the varied needs of different clients without reinventing our approach each time. The customization options and stability have been impressive. Being able to embed BI directly into existing applications is the biggest practical win for delivering insights. I appreciate that it saves me from rebuilding work for every client, allowing standard reports to be set up once with customization as needed. The practical and easy-to-pick-up tools, coupled with scripting flexibility, fit well with any application we use. Finding the specific data I need is straightforward, and the ready-made configuration options save me from setting everything up from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

The flexibility comes with a learning curve; there are so many configuration options that a newcomer can feel a bit lost before finding the efficient path. I would welcome clearer guidance early on to shorten that ramp-up. I'd suggest clearer onboarding guidance or guided templates for newcomers and a simpler way to surface the most useful configuration options, so people can find the efficient path without having to dig through everything first. "Secure Data Access with Robust Integration"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I really appreciate how GoodData.AI opens up data access across our teams without risking confidentiality, letting me deliver clean, governed insights to stakeholders while protecting sensitive numbers. It efficiently handles my biggest issue with ad hoc data requests, allowing others to access dashboards while I focus on crucial modeling work. The integration with our existing ETL setups is seamless, helping me wire GoodData.AI into our pipelines without rebuilding. The API documentation is well-organized and easy to navigate, saving me guesswork in setting up our metric layer. It processes large datasets quickly—like handling several years of client portfolio data—without long waits. I also appreciate the consistency of the semantic layer, which ensures everyone pulls the same numbers and avoids conflicting figures in meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

Support can be slow to get back to you, which wasn't fun when I was up against a reporting deadline. I've also hit a wall a few times building queries that need to pull from several sources at once, and that does slow down some of my cross-dataset work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

GoodData.AI opens up data access without risking confidentiality, letting stakeholders get clean insights while sensitive numbers stay safe. It handles ad hoc data requests, letting others access dashboards and freeing me for modeling, maintaining a balance between openness and confidentiality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
