Ability to programmatically drive metrics and dashboards via JSON HTTP; they have a Slack channel to handle certain technical questions, which is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GoodData.AI? Lack of features in slicing/dicing; e.g., no ability to filter a long list of values for a dimension by "starts with" or "contains" semantics; throwing large amounts of dimensionality at the product shows its inherent flaws in this regard. Other bizarre limitations such as being forced to make a HTTP call to force a cache refresh of underlying data sources (!?). Very limited in its ability to create a view that allows for hierarchical diving (slice and display data in different ways as you dive through dimensions) -- essentially you can dive one time and are then stuck in a big data table at that level. I like the centralised metrics that can be created. I aslo like the ability to add in web content and add in text via the custom text editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GoodData.AI? There are not the same level of features as in other BI programs. A good example of this is the roundabout way that you need to calculate something rather basic like max(date). The way to achieve this in GoodData is rather hack-y. Lack of user levels means restricted access and labourious processes. The data visualisations capabilities with most of focus appearing to go on the GoodData UI project (at time of writing, based on reviewing release notes) which is baffling given how limited the visualisations are and how important to business. I find the 'Custom MAQL' language they use to be poorly documented with most education coming from the example blog where they seem to reveal more capabilities that aren't immediately obvious. GoodData uses its own query language with is pretty similar to SQL, however theres no great way to write these without actually being in the tool --- I cant even really copy and paste if theres an object involved that I want to have in the query.
