A very robust solution that delivers what it's meant to - analytical dashboards to analyze any business operation, "data democratization", that allows any end user to have simple access to data, without any technical requirements, and support for long-term requirements from it's customers. GoodData's roadmap relies mostly on back-end topics, like providing new integrations with other data sources (Snowflake / bigQuery), support for more programming languages, and so on. Our customers are more interested in graphical capabilities, like new types of reports, that must be delivered as an "plug-and-play solution", with no coding requirements. When it comes to familiarity and comfort with digital tools, our user base tends to be on the less experienced side. It was important to us that our white-labeled analytics solution had customizable reports and dashboards that were within reach for them, but also powerful enough for internal use and to serve the smaller segment of users with analytics experience. Our insights module has become a hugely popular feature among prospects and current users alike, with the ease and approachability of use standing out as winning aspects. Our professional services relationship has been outstanding, and working with the BI Specialist feels as if he is a member of the team because he is so knowledgeable of our product and data. The dependency on MAQL reduces our ability to repurpose or reapply SQL knowledge internally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I value the most about GoodData is its user friendly interface. Once the client gets the hang of the workflow it is quite easy for them to start using it themselves and they do not feel discouraged by overly technical look of the tool. Number of features that is continously increasing is also a plus and I think its also important to mention that I had only good experience with customer support when we needed to deal with any implementation issues. I think the things that I dislike about GoodData are mostly related to a GoodData.CN specifically. Compared to other GD versions it is a bit harder to implement and integrate in clients tech stack plus I had no easy way of finding user usage to be able to provide the frequency of use information to the client. Gooddata allows for easy use of their front-end and the API. It's also quite easy to integrate it to our own platform as a white-label product via iframes. The workspace & user data filters, as well as user groups make it very useful for filtering data/dashboards before it even reaches users, which makes it safer. The data model is easy to build if you adhere to best practices. Their technical support via slack is usually very fast (replies within 5-10 minutes) and almost always resolves the problem within 1-2 hours for easy problems and 48 hours for more complicated cases. There are still some basic things missing:
1. Creating custom charts is very convoluted
2. Sorting is not globally consistent. For example, you can't sort a pivot table by its total sum - which is a big problem for us personally
3. You can't hide fields that are in the data model. We've denormalized our data (so filters wouldn't crash and would pull values from the smaller, mapping tables) and this created a lot of useless (for users) link keys. There is no way to get rid of these keys.
4. You can't use OR filters - everything has to be either an AND filter or made via custom expressions.
5. You can't calcualte min/max dates. For example MIN date of a sale or something cannot be done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The first thing I liked is that the user interface is highly customizable with color paletters and theme creation, and on the other hand, I love being able to integrate this tool with third parties and upload files. Also, its control panel is interactive and excellent for analysis. I also liked that it is easy to understand how it works and that it offers a good way to manage the business and see all the metrics in a single dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In my opinion, this solution is excellent and the price is low. And so far I have not had any problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like this tool because it is easy to integrate with other platforms. I like that it is very easy to use, I found it much easier to navigate and add data to this dashboard than on other similar platforms. In addition, it performs calculations in memory and performs pre-and post-processing transformations for data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GoodData connects to a variety of databases that you can use for internal or embedded analytics. I really don't dislike anything about this platform. It has worked perfectly and fits our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is very intuitive; one can create charts and dashboards without wasting much time. The logical data model helps to understand the relationships between tables. Finally, GoodData is investing in AI features that a company would benefit from. Customer support acts quickly, offering different solutions to issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much documentation regarding advanced topics, and the number of visualizations remains limited compared with other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it has a great approach to data modeling with data source definition and metrics. I also love that we can track changes in the workflow with detailed graphs and charts looking at each product in detail. I also love that it allows us to track changes in the workflow. What I like most about GoodData may vary, but what impacts for me the most is the extraction of customer information into our system and being able to analyze the data through the elaboration of the information, in addition to its management capabilities and compatibility with databases. Finally, I really liked the flexible visualization and graphing of customer data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
