Many of our internal URLs include long UUID sequences as well. It's impossible to memorize these things, and bookmarking them works but makes sharing cumbersome. GoLinks lets us shorten and share these URLs easily and effectively; life without it would be extremely frustrating. GoLinks attempts to solve that problem by making "universal" short links to important stuff. It's basically bit.ly but company-centric. It's easy to figure out (or even guess!) the link for stuff, and their dashboard helps find popular stuff. It's implemented well (with browser extensions) and I haven't had any major issues with it. That said, I think GoLinks addresses a symptom rather than the root cause -- that your information isn't well organized and easy to get to.
