## GoldMine Reviews
  ### 1. Decent for 2002

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith R. | Marketing & IT Specialist, Industrial Automation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine allows for a lot of customizability. It allows small businesses an easy way to build a contact database and use it effectively without having to invest in a cloud-based solution.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The outdated interface. GoldMine shows its age the minute you open it. The system functions solely on-premise and requires much more maintenance than a similar cloud-based service. It proves difficult to integrate with the most common applications. The Outlook integration is slow and cumbersome, but you use it so you have a modern interface, unlike GoldMine's built-in client. The accounting integration is a joke and doesn't function easily.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GoldMine is a simple contact database. It allows you to manage sales and support from a single interface. It allows you to manage your workload and set automatic follow-ups. It takes a while to train yourself to use the software.

  ### 2. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine was very simple to use. It was easy for me to create, edit, and manage the hundreds of contacts id view each day.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Maybe things have changed since I last used GoldMine but I wish it was easier to upload and manage a bunch of records at a time instead of individually.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

It was a feasible tool for the small size of the company I worked for but I feel like there are better options out there.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had used GoldMine as a prospect database for potential clients. It made mass communication to them easier.

  ### 3. GoldMine is a diamond in the rough!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle R. | Administrative Social Media Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The search capabilities have saved us several times. The organization of each account is definitely helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The complex process of connecting email to GoldMine is frustrating- however, we are also frustrated that we aren't using GoldMine to full potential - which is definitely our fault!!

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Keep your team on the same page with GoldMine! It is so helpful as an intranet where you can store valuable information for keeping your company on track!

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are moving away from relying on paper files and moving toward more organization and consistency. We are able to keep track of customers' orders, quotes sent, contact information and so much more.

  ### 4. I need more training to really get the hang of it, but it is a very useful tool for Sales!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

I like several of its abilities: You can create groups of all kinds and send out mass mailings. You can work with code and add URL links and pictures. You can create specific fields to sort and create groups. You can track your sales.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

You do require training in order to use it to its full potential...you pay for maintenance and upgrades, then you have to pay for a partner to help you when you can't accomplish tasks.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating documents to merge in GoldMine is the best. I have created so many different documents that I use all the time, and it creates more time in my day to focus on other tasks because of this feature. I not only use the Documents Email for single client follow-up, but also for mass mailings!

  ### 5. agile and email friendy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Maritime | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

ease of toggling between contacts and finding emails and searching through historic emails is easy.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

main focus is on emails, campaigns, templates and as a contact rolodex, however, not as efficient as other CRMSs for project tracking.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

good for email, toggling through records and mobile

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

good email client, good as an agile rolodex for searching through names, regions, industries, old emails.

  ### 6. Effective Office Management System

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

THis is an easy system to use with calendars and reminders to help organize sales.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It could produce more leads and be more like AMS.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking sales and quotes.

  ### 7. Goldmine is old school and maybe its time for something new?

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vicki W. | Content Creator. Actor. Social Media Strategist. Snapchatress. Blogger. Public Relations. , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine came out several DECADES ago and was a really good sales CRM. I think that it's GOOD, but there are things that are better now.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The fact that it is old and their leadership moved on to create a more robust software called Nimble. It just seemed dated. The challenge is that there are so many softwares to choose from. You need to decide whats best for you!

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Check and see if you need more robust features like following up via social media.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for keeping track of leads, sales generation, follow up, etc.

  ### 8. Excellent tool for maintaining our 10,000 contacts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa L. | Conference Coordinator, Management Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

We are able to enter and query every contact detail, every purchase, every registration, every product in one location.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The mail merge feature doesn't always work the way I'd like.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

If you have a large database/customer base that you need to regularly update, report on, query past purchases, contact based on previous purchase, physical location, etc. Look at the GoldMine specs. I bet it will do whatever you need.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowing who has attended out events, reaching out to people based on past activity with us, emailing customers.

  ### 9. Goldmine use review

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Import and Export | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

It tracks all customers as well as pretty easy to fidn out how many calls have been made daily

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It crashes all the time as we are using an older product

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Go with Salesforce instead

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Log calls and sales

  ### 10. Good, but Dated

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Very powerful CRM with full suite of contact management, lead management, and mail-merge functionality. It integrates well with G Suite for Business through the RIVA CRM integration solution.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Very dated and confusing interface, difficult to customize (eg. hide unwanted features for deployment), difficult to administer.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Goldmine helps us turn communication activities into shared company knowledge, and leverage relationships to support sales and operations.

  ### 11. Outdated CRM

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael K. | Senior Sales Consultant, Management Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Unlimited capacity. Keeps all history for future use.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Not easy to enter several search criterias

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Re-connecting with past customers

  ### 12. Great product, but feels outdated for todays CRM usage.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** bryan r. | Director of Branding and Merchandising, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The ability to store as much information and emails as possible.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It is hard to learn in the beginning. It took me about 6 months to feel comfortable using the system, and I was not even using the entire system.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A place to hold all the conversations had with a client, email tracking for a particular order, and holding notes about the client and their company.

  ### 13. Goldmine - Costly but it is otherwise great!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

As an early GoldMne adopter, our business and use grew along with GoldMine's capabilities. We always prized its flexibility and ease of use - and we were particularly pleased with the breadth of its features.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Over the years we became a GoldMine dependent business, but we started to feel the pain of its high cost: Both with the fees of consultants and the corporate costs.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Regardless of the cost, GM is a good, slick product that deserves your consideration.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we moved to a suburb of Los Angeles, we could no longer afford to pay hundreds of dollars per hour for consultants who also charged for their drive time. We were running GM on our own server and the costs were mounting. Sadly, and almost entirely because of cost issues, we moved to a Salesforce product.

  ### 14. Goldmine Review

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The activity list makes it nice to see how far ahead or behind i am

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The scrolling wheel or death that freezes the screen

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Hopefully you dont plan on growing as a company

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer relations. Goldmine is not good for big business

  ### 15. Great experience and training!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

As an inside sales manager Goldmine was GREAT! It allowed me to easily track my employees progress and run reports.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

sometimes the reports would be a little finicky and hard to run.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Great tool!

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pipeline and business tracking. Also great tool to sync with Outlook!

  ### 16. Sales Coordinator

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana P. | Customer Service Rep, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The flexability in data storage. I use it to keep tracks of orders, and other information for quick reference as needed.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

There really isn't anything that I dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

What you can use it for is various, can match to your specific needs.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to log into customer's information their warranty information. This helps to keep us from having missing parts or issues for warranty.

  ### 17. Goldmine review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2018

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Client information management because everything is in the same place

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Email management as you have to set up a bunch of rules so it gets sorted well

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all information from clients in only one place.

  ### 18. Goldmine

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Ease of use. Integrated with my other system applications.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

There is nothing I dislike about the application.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

I've used other CRM tools and Goldmine provides a nice package. Though our company has not taken advantage of it, there is a cloud option, which is a good feature.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good interface with other system applications. Easy to manage our customer contacts database and store shared communications among the team.

  ### 19. Older legacy product

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

I use this product in the past prior to most CRM applications going to the web. What I liked about it is that it was a very fast.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The inability to truly configure the application the way I needed to. Furthermore, it was a contact centric database structure and not account centric. That made things very challenging. I believe it still is a contact centric database.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Understand your requirements and if the product will meet your requirements. Good value for the dollar.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was attempting to solve sales and marketing issues. Which worked very well at the time.

  ### 20. I have used GoldMine in previous job and it is very user firiendly.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug J. | VP of Corporate Sales, Facilities Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

It is very user friendly. Has great follow up system for future contacts.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Needs to have more updates added for additional functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

needs to being continuously updated, adding more features

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great tool for my sales reps. The ease of use in training new hires is great.

  ### 21. My Career with Goldmine......

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph L. | Chief Operations Officer, Military, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Company contacts & history of same all in one application.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The program can be unstable. The Universal Search feature really isn't so universal.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

I would not recommend an immediate company wide roll out.
I would start with a small, sellect few individuals first. These need to be part of a team that was formed to investigate the need for a CRM program. Start with 3-5 seats. Set up the company and have these team members use the product for at least three months. Engage a Goldmine consultant (pay them) to work with you on the installation, training. Get buy in from your IT department. If they will not support it you are looking at an on going expense by having to rely on outside assistance. This is a great program but it will need constant updates to keep it running smoothly. I started using this back in 1995 as a project manager for a construction company. They didn't have any kind of a CRM at that time with several offices and revenues in excess of $250 million year. I did the research and picked Goldmine over several others that were available at that time.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have modified the program to track our dog sales & inventory. We are able to track a dog from the vendor we purchased from all the way through the various kennel locations we own, through those kennels and then ultimately to the end user that we sold the dogs to. Think of how our criminal justice system works. The dog being the human criminal. From be arrested and then processed through the courst, jails & prisons. Kind of the same idea but for dogs. We can tell you where any dog came from to where it currently is located today.

  ### 22. Goldmine 2015

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tess J. | CEO, Publishing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The system is designed with the salesperson in mind. It can also be simplified for order takers. The reporting is great for managers. The bells and whistles make things easy. The online function is terrific for multi-unit offices.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It takes some work to streamline and to set up defaults. It takes someone trained to make the interface right for individual needs. The calendar feature was hard to intergrate. The tab interface is a bit clumsy.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Good product - have good IT

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps for staging customers. It also is great for keeping history across the sales floor.

  ### 23. Goldmine for Recruiting and Tracking Candidates and Clients

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry F. | Manager of Recruitment, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Look up and customizing fields is very easy. We have expanded the power of Goldmine by utilizing SQL back end processes to perform updates, scheduling, etc. The Dash board has been very useful!

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Project module is cumbersome. Internal GM emails are not correctly reflected in the history and macros could be more used more for automation.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Document your process for everything you do/ based on each user in your organization. Then incorporate from the beginning any automation possible, set policy for your users on required fields and usage, don't allow your database to be ruined by users not following the process!

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking candidates, their skills, stay in touch, our pipeline of candidates to follow up on. Benefits have been that we have successfully done that ;-) It is a huge time saver for our recruiters and management can see in seconds our progress on staffing jobs.

  ### 24. Goldmine CRM a repository for all your Customer Information

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John B. | IT Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Email, note, and customer interaction tracker for each customer or supplier that we deal with. You can quickly find out what your last interaction with that customer was, and where to go from there. This is a great system if multiple reps are working multiple accounts across multiple locations or if it is a customer you have not dealt with in a while.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

No instant contact duplicate warning, there should be a pop warning you that a contact exsists instead of running a program to check if duplicates exsist, and maybe an easier way to merge contacts if a duplication exsists. Sometimes SQL integration can be clunky, i actually miss when dbase was part of the package and you didn't have to rely on sql.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

At least download the trial to see if this software will meet your needs, Try before you buy. You won't be able to make an informed decision without at least comparing Goldmine with other popular CRM products.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve the problem of customer tracking, so if a different customer service rep picks up the phone they can easily see through notes and history what was the last interaction with this customer (pricing, products they use etc.) This has made customer interactions quicker and more precise.

  ### 25. Great CRM all-in-one

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay B. | Director of Information Systems, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

It's like Outlook with enhanced CRM options, such as form generation, more in-depth client data, and customization. This has been a tremendous tool for our sales team and they love it!

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

I would like better integration with outlook without having to purchase additional add-ons. This was originally marketed to us as as replacement for outlook that integrated with Exchange. Turns out this was not the case.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Take the time to evaluate what you needs actually are. We tried to deploy this as a replacement to Outlook for the entire office, when it turns out we really only needed it for our sales teams. It is a wonderful product, but take time familiarizing yourself with it before deciding on the number/group of users actually needed.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better management of sales funnel and leads.

  ### 26. One-Stop Shop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim C. | CRM Manager, Technology Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2015

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

All forms of communication are filed in the history of the contact with whom you are communicating. This means there is no sorting through the record of a corporation to find an email sent by a specific individual. This enables true team selling - sales management is always 100% informed on the progress of every sale.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

I wish there was a feature available on each contact that keeps track of the amount of time elapsed since the last 'touch.'

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

It's worth the time to get it set up and running.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do very concise targeted marketing at a very low cost because of the way we have tracked activities. I've created a number of fields that contain these data, then, using GoldMine's reporting capabilities, I send relevant, helpful, pithy emails with an open rate of over 18%.

  ### 27. Easy to operate CRM, ease with reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy M. | Administrative Assistant, Executive Office, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

New record entry, History tab captures good amount of text, running scripted reports, output to excel easy enough.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The spinning circle when it cannot match your search request - it spins forever. A pop-up window stating match not found would be better. Mobile App needs another look. with IPAD use. Most sales people will not migrate to their laptop if they've been on an IPAD with GM and session wasn't successful.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Make sure everyone is on board and understands their part in data entry.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to get all tasks associated with Sales Team functions completed. Sales Teams need to spend more time so they will see the value in their data entry for their reporting results. We also have very old records that need to be merged, purged, etc.

  ### 28. Not new enough to be new and not outdated enough to move on

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Solid team management, ability to pick up where another rep left off

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

still hasn't figure out schedule events sufficiently and mass marketing is clunky addins at best Report writing in program is far to limited

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quoting is a bit smoother to track through the invoicing phase

  ### 29. The best CRM tool for the money. Very stable, very feature rich.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary Z. | President, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2013

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

GoldMine can track all your interactions, email, appt., calls, anything. It will track your sales pipeline, automate many repetitive tasks, and much more. Also, the upgrade path has been good and HEAT Software continues to develop and enhance this great product. Now with Web and Cloud options GoldMine is by far the best value for you money.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It would be nice to customize some of the areas that are not customizable like the entry screens for Activities, especially the Sales Forecasting screen.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Give it a try.... great product and there are many partners that are available to help you get up to speed quickly.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used GoldMine to create our Corporate Memory. This allows all of our team to be on the same page and when new people come on board they can quickly get up to speed with where our clients are in any process, be it sales, customer service, or marketing. GoldMine integrates well with Constant Contact. So when an email campaign is sent you can return the results to GoldMine and make appropriate follow ups based on those results.

  ### 30. Best CRM for the price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill T. | Owner, Civil Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Out of the box it's easy to use and navigate. Once you learn left and right mouse you can pretty well do everything in the program.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

I would love a better integration to Outlook. I would like some of the calendaring options that Outlook has incorporated into Goldmine.

I would also like the search feature to search both the primary and additional contact in one search

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

If you go feature by feature, Goldmine still offers more for your money.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pricing always comes up and Goldmine is pretty reasonably priced and flexible. Being licensed as a concurrent user program, makes it much easier for small to mid size business to afford

  ### 31. Functions don't work like you expect them to

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason K. | Fulfillment Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2017

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Links messages and actions to the calendar and client records very well.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Horrible search function, across all types of records. Dose a poor job of email attachment management.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Fully understand your needs so that you can have the product installed correctly the first time.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales leads and client status tracking.

  ### 32. Excellent CRM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shellie B. | Vice President, Insurance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The most important item to me in GoldMine is the ability to make my own fields and tabs. This has allowed us to manage our insurance brokerage since 2000 in a very efficient and effective way.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Not so much dislike - but don't fully understand how to use the Service area of the application
Also need more training on reports, how to build them etc.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to keep all the information we feel is important for our agency (something you can't do in an insurance CRM that won't let you create fields) We can also efficiently create forms and application from the program through Word and get them to our carriers and insureds.

  ### 33. Best historical data retention, room for lots of customization.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine is a powerful tool, and we have had the chance to compare customer records we have in Goldmine vs some of our partners who use SalesForce, Act, etc. Our records are always better - never been a exception. We have all notes, customer meetings, email history., customer PO's and quotes under the one record. We do not have a manufacturer or partner who deals with the same customers with all our data. They come to us to see who to call.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The bid disadvantage of Goldmine is it is very unlike Outlook and Sales Force - and that is what people are familiar with. So there is a learning curve, and when we bring new employee's in it takes a while for them to get used to how to do things.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer historical data to allow us to suggest new or appropriate solutions based on their environment, what they have tried in the past, etc.

  ### 34. Goldmine is my Goldmine

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Contact oriented, custom screens , good searches.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

With the new version even though I tell the computer to use Goldmine as my email client, I can't do what I did before Windows 10 where I hit an email address anywhere in the computer and it would go through Goldmine. SO the application I made that I have been using for 30 years I went backwards in functionality.
The filter and search changed one of the fields of state so had to redo searches. Have not figured out how to do the smart query and turn it into a saved search report. The integration of word has lost functionality because its tough to do a mass mailing other than doing an email blast . I don't like the new alarm function as it is an all or none. as it used to be if you dismissed a alarm for a contact before it would go to the next one. I don't like that I need to buy an outside program to do automated dialing of a list. In other words if you created a list and started calling as soon as you finish one another should show up. Had that function 20 years ago with another CRM

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Doesn't integrate with Google docs and you want to have a better integration with outlook as opposed to the GM email client

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have solved the delegation, scheduling, and storing in a logical format information

  ### 35. i work full time as inside sales account manager and this is fantastic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

i thoroughly enjoy the well thought out template created. While we only utilize a fraction of what the system can do, it does with ease. Being able to manage my day to day business is leaps and bounds better than a decade ago. Each update brings new bells and whistles to consider and most work well with our sales environment.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

One of my biggest complaints is NOT being able to arrow over from pending to history to additional contacts, etc as i DESPISE using the mouse. I understand Goldmine is a right-click button happy program, but the more i can avoid using the mouse the better off we are.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

If you're looking for a solution to manage any customer base, this is it. It's BEYOND robust and can be tailor fit for your specific needs

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data integrity is paramount if you want to maintain a database of existing customers. Being able to manage certain SIC accounts for specific campaigns is a breeze. I can quickly identify my pharmacies from hospitals and move forward with my email campaigns very fast.

  ### 36. Company database

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cazzonelli S. | Sales/ Project Manager, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

I really like the easy access of goldmine. It lets me find contacts very easy and send emails. We really enjoy using this as a mass email tool. I personally use it to follow up on quotes which makes it really easy to send the email. Next time around i am able to review the last email so i dont have to remember what i said but it is right there in front of me. We also use Goldmine to connect our product to users which makes it very helpful if there is a problem down the road.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

i would like to get more information on how to store data and make appointments. It seems like we can do so much more with Goldmine but we are not using the full capability. I am under the impression this might be something that is due to us not knowing but i think that if we get proper training or advising, we would use the full capability of Goldmine. We would most likely add more users and use the software company wide

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Use it. it is a great tool for what we use it right now. I believe there is much more for us to experience

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are connecting people to our products which makes it very easy to track who has our products. this way we are able to contact users and tell them more about any news

  ### 37. Still the best solution on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto D. | Sr CRM Consultant, Computer Networking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Its customizability and flexibility. I can lay out the screen any way I want. Integrated e-mail tracking is unmatched. Everything I need is right at my fingertips. I am not stuck with a never-ending monthly bill just to use the product.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Enhancement requests can take too long to show up in the product.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Gather your list of business needs and have someone give you a good quality demo based on those needs.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping informed and up to date. With everything I have going, there is no way I can even imagine keeping on top of everything without it. It's the first program I open and the last program I close.

  ### 38. Very robust with many features and room to grow with the business.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Thrive Promoter, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The integration of Constant Contact and wide availability of customization.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Having to use dBase in Rule Base Select. This should be sql based, or have a user interface for not dBase or sql users to create the rules for custom fields.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

With the ability to fully customize screens and tabs for different departments this is a win in my book.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have contracts for many clients and if the does not contract renews we have had to identify the loss. The reporting feature appears well equipped to be able to build the dashboards needed for this.

  ### 39. GoldMine Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

GoldMine has been a big part of my business for over ten years. I like the fact that we can create our own custom fields and set them up how we use them for our business. Also, the ability to have that information populate into templates we create is very powerful for the documents we use with our clients.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

There is a field limitation of 1000 fields which isn't an issue for most, but we track a lot of our clients information so we are near the maximum allowed.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Definitely worth looking at no matter the size of your business.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GoldMine has allowed us to be efficient by tracking all of our information in one place and integrate it with our processes.

  ### 40. Have used Goldmine since 1996 - Very Frustrated - Looking for an alternative

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Don F. | CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT, Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Automated Processes,
Macro's when working (depends on the version of Windows, currently Marco's are not working)

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

1) AICPA seminar presenters no longer recommend Goldmine (Currently, Goldmine is a stay away from product.)
2) Goldmine reports are horrible, time wasting, and several only work depending on the release, Currently, there is no training videos, webinars, etc. for Goldmine reports.
3) Customer Service/Support is horrible (do not know where to start),
4) Goldmines competitors have passed by the product technically,

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Stay away from.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tax Return processing.

  ### 41. Used GoldMine since 1995 and it has been critical to my business

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Ability to link everything I need to know from contacts, documents, interaction history, email to a company and know exactly where we stand

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Need more flexibility to customize screens for scheduling and history entry

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing day to day operations and staying on track with customers and prospects; As a small organization, productivity is important to our survival and GoldMine has been a big part of this.

  ### 42. Goldmine Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth H. | Internal Systems Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

The history tracking is superb and well organized. Being able to filter by sender from within an account really make finding that needle in the haystack easier

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It's very robust but fairly complicated to configure on the back-end unless you're familiar with SQL.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Be patient with the learning curve, it will be fruitful in the end.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to track history much easier now, and the benefit is being able to consolidate all sorts of activity history, including emails, calls, and notes.

  ### 43. Golmine CRM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill T. | Director Of Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

I love the integration between the word Document templates and the contact information allowing me to develop approved branded quoted templates for myself and the sales team. In addition I love the template emails as we sell multiple product lines each with specific sell sheets that can have PDF attachments

I like that we can generate and customize lists and reports

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The cost of upgrades
The help section could be better

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

comfort working with computers and servers

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick customer information response

  ### 44. Goldmine makes me the CEO of my own business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Speed. Can get to any contact, any phone number, any task at lightning speed then auto dialing or emailing or whatever the task is at hand. Goldmine makes me the CEO of my own business. Love the document management, templates and the ease of managing email merges.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The maintenance policy. I am only one man. Having to pay for four seats every year is an annual chance to be annoyed and drop coverage and change the company's standard fair web based thing.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

For me, Goldmine is a client/server application. So it gets panned for not being a 100% web based. The UI is busy. Which is what makes it so great for a Sales professional. But also makes it seem out of step. Don't be fooled. GM is reliable and fast. It has the well conceived features that make a Sales professional productive. Senior Executives fall for the 'so-called' wonders of WEB based CRM reporting. But years after the CRM has been implemented, the Sr. VP of Sales is still walking around with an excel print out of the forecast in his pocket. If you know and love GM, you will sell more. Except for I.T. geeks, I am pretty sure that is the top priority for everyone. Oh yeah. One more thing. GM has a fine set of reporting for senior execs.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency of running the territory. So much productivity. I am so much faster than my poor co-workers at getting volumes of business done. Sales is a numbers game for sure. I hate chewing up the time on metrics if it takes away from driving known prospects through the pipeline. Goldmine keeps the grind it out part of the job manageable. Goldmine is also indispensable for moving prospects and customer forward in the sales cycle by enforcing reminders to NOT miss a step and also to make sure I keep focus on the steps in a timely manner.

  ### 45. Very Mature = Highly Functional CRM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine has been around for a long time. There is so much functionality available in the software that is not available in more recent entries into the CRM market.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

Still sometimes confusing of how to use a Contact vs Additional Contacts. Just have to think through it before you commit to what your organization's standard will be.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Get a very detailed demo of all the functionality of the product before you begin. Make plenty of notes to yourself of what functions you will use. List those functions in order of importance and implement as you go. Allocate the time and resources to configure the system upfront based on how you are going to use it.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As simple as it is having all your contact and their details quickly available is still the biggest benefit. I use the Project Tracking to help keep up with where I am and what step is next in managing SEO programs for customers.

  ### 46. Goldmine CRM - For Better or Worse

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine is a powerful CRM allowing users flexibility and options. It is straightforward and, depending on the level of information and reporting, easy for the end user to master. The Outlook plug-in is helpful.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The Goldmine Mail Client is very poor. We had to create g-mail accounts for everyone because Goldmine was stripping all our attachments off the emails when they were opened. Gmail saved them.

Goldmine's Outlook plug-in, while helpful, is limited in its capabilities. Every business is different and in ours, we need to link outlook emails using fields that aren't available with the plug-in.

While Frontrange support is available, there is at least one first line technician who is extremely rude. I will not speak to him when I call in. Our Goldmine partner, while knowledgeable about many aspects of Goldmine, doesn't know how to handle some of our questions.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Make sure you get a good Goldmine partner at the very beginning. Switching partners is a difficult and expensive undertaking. Also, make sure Goldmine is the right software for your particular business application.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to track our clients and their contracts fairly well. We have had to hire someone in-house to work directly with Goldmine on the reporting and database cleanup. We are progressing in our reporting and clean-up. We are also working on a new build for better contract and agent commission tracking.

  ### 47. Great software, very versatile and customizable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

We love how easy it is to customize Goldmine. We use this CRM extensively in our office and appreciate that it's server based, versus internet based like a lot of new software. It moves quickly, keeps everyone in the office up to date all the time and we are able to provide excellent service to our clients.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

The only major dislike is we haven't figured out how to use cloud syncing so we can access our database easily from a mobile device.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Make sure you are okay with a server based product before you make a commitment one way or another.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We stay committed to providing the absolute best service in our industry. In doing so, with a team of 6, we need to be able to stay up to date with client requests, statuses of items, and all the various steps that we complete for a new or existing client. Goldmine allows us to do all of that in more in just a few clicks. We are able to keep our clients happy and bring on new relationships using this software.

  ### 48. Goldmine has been my contact managmenet software for the last 10 years.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric W. | President / VP Sales, Automotive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

It allows me to build all sorts of files and I can sort them in a variety of ways depending on the need of the day.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

It almost has too much functionality and given that I know I do not use more than 30% of its capability.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

go through the training but not all at once - spread it out

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying in touch with customers based on reminders I have in place are most important. Obviously the benefits are that each client feels important because we are following up with them and based on our notes (both personal and business wise) they feel as if they are more like friends vs. customers

  ### 49. Gets better with age

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Sr VP of Operations, Facilities Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

Goldmine has become more user friendly, much easier to navigate.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

I cannot say that there's really anything I "dislike". Great product.

**Recommendations to others considering GoldMine:**

Goldmine used to be very difficult to use. It has become so much easier to use, to teach to new users also. I have tried demos of other software, hated it. Definately go with GM, they have the solution, trust me!

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm the type of person who scribbles notes down while on the phone onto any paper i can find lying around. I've trained myself to automatically put all my notes/info into the system and i actually save time, and have increased productivity exponentially.

  ### 50. Great tool for keeping your team organized!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keliikipi M. | Operations Manager, Wholesale, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about GoldMine?**

I like the fact that you can create records and customize fields to fit your needs. This allows me to keep multiple teams, organized.

**What do you dislike about GoldMine?**

My least favorite feature, is the Goldmine Alarm. I haven't quite figured it out how to use it efficiently.

**What problems is GoldMine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving a lot of issues that deal with documentation. Being able to help sort and customize notes/memos, is a huge benefit for me.
