I hate it. GoGuardian sucks. I am a student, and I can't use websites or games I would like to use in school without seeing a stupid "This is blocked by GoGuardian" screen. There are so many things that I love about GoGuardian. I love that I am able to see everything my students are doing at a given time. I love that I can close out tabs that should not be opened. I love at the end of each of my classes I get a report with a timeline that shows me what each student was doing at a specific time. There are also individual student reports with awesome visuals. I love that before my class ends I can send an announcement for all of my students to read. I love being able to open a new tab and "send" my students to a specific link. (This has been especially great with having 5th graders who are remote. No more needing to repeat the peardeck code 1,000 times!) I also absolutely LOVE the new features GoGuardian has recently added: audio calls and presentation mode. These have been huge game changers with having remote students this year. Normally I would say nothing, but lately, GoGuardian has been experiencing system outages. This has been detrimental to my teaching and has essentially left me flying blind. I cannot see what my students are doing, so I cannot help them when there is a problem. I also am not able to "push" out links to them. Fortunately, the team has been trying to work quickly to fix their system status, but even 5 minutes of not seeing my students screens is too long, especially with being a remote teacher this year. Ability to see all students at once. It doesn't matter if there is one or a dozen students on at once I can monitor them all. I love this when I am giving a test and there is no way anyone is going to deviate from the website.

I get confused when new features pop up. There are ways to record videos etc. But I had a tendency to get error messages saying that I have to update to another level. Also, when sharing my screen the students screens go black a lot and I have to refresh.

I wish I could just chat voice or video in realtime because this will streamline the instant feedback to instant corrections. Students had to click to the chat, then click out, and try to make the corrections or follow instructions. I felt limited in assisting students on GoGuardian, but I still feel GoGuardian is helpful. This is a great program for myself and my 9-12 colleagues. We initially looked into this product because we wanted to find a way to eliminate cheating from our online writing program. In addition to that, Go Guardian tracks student screen time, which is helpful for many reasons. When students know they're "On Go Guardian" they are much more likely to remain on task. My teachers love GoGuardian's ability to help them monitor their classroom Chromebook usage. This helps so much with classroom management and eases the minds of my busy teachers.
