Website BackUp Helped Us Through Some Tough Mistakes **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2018 **What do you like best about GoDaddy Website Backup?** The most helpful part of this software is that it will not only take your daily backups, but it stores the most recent 30. If you have an issue go on at one point, but you fail to catch it for a few days, you can track it back by using those past 30 backups. We had a new person join the team, and they made some mistakes on our website coding, but we were hesitant to remove an entire page, so we used the 3 day old backup and just redid the change correctly. In the past, a mistake like this could have been untraceable and led to a huge data loss. **What do you dislike about GoDaddy Website Backup?** There is not much to dislike. The site does take some getting used to, but the customer service has always been helpful in assuring us of what functions to use to get the results we wanted from the backup. It would be helpful to have a more comprehensive FAQ, or at least a rundown of the functions for those of us who are not as tech minded and are worried that we will go in and mess something up even more when trying to access a backup. **Recommendations to others considering GoDaddy Website Backup:** Definitely take it for a trial run, but take advantage of the 30 day backups. I think that it would be great if the site could hold even more backups, but I realize that would be a lot of data to hold. Evaluate how many people you will have modifying your site, and/or if your site is at a major vulnerablility **What problems is GoDaddy Website Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to see threats to our security, and the site notified us of when we should remove data and restore from a backup. At one point we did have issues with files not loading correctly from the backup, but that was mostly due to formatted zip files and the difference in Mac/Pc software - Pages/Word, Sheets/Excel. ### 2. Literally anyone at the company could set this up, if necessary. We've also had customers come to us that are able to do these things themselves. In the end, that makes less work and makes things run more efficiently. They will do the restoration for you, as well. **What do you dislike about GoDaddy Website Backup?** I don't like having to pay extra for something that is often free. We have used this from time to time, depending on how quickly we needed to do a backup. We use several other methods through the site to backup and do restoration, when necessary, that give us a little more control. I also like to do my own restorations vs having another company do it. **Recommendations to others considering GoDaddy Website Backup:** Check to make sure there isn't a free solution available before paying for an upgrade. However, this one is easy. **What problems is GoDaddy Website Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been able to do full or partial backups for transferring data between sites. ### 3.
