The EFT Product helps us to automate functions that would otherwise be typically done manually, saving us time and reducing human error. The GUI interface for Windows has lots of ability to navigate via only the mouse and checkboxes. The built in email alerting helps us know when something does go wrong, so we can address it quickly. Prior to using EFT we had to do manual send/receive of SFTP file transfers, consuming a lot of time and manual administrator intervention. I had a requirement to create an event rule where, for the time being, I want to prevent (or stop) file uploads to a user folder. During that period, it should either upload somewhere else or remain in a queue. I didn’t find an option for this in the event rules, so maybe I need to research it more. Another point is related to VAPT: I disliked that sensitive data is travelling in the URL, and there is no CAPTCHA feature. The drag-and-drop functionality helps me set up business file transfers quickly and with minimal effort. Onboarding users in Globalscape is also fast, and I can give them different access and security options such as HTTPS or SFTP, key-based authentication, or MFA. So far, I haven’t faced any issues that would make me dislike Globalscape. However, in the past I did dislike two things about it. First, in the Reports tab, if I generate one report, I’m unable to open a second report afterward. Also, Globalscape doesn’t provide an option to save reports in Excel format. The first thing Globalscape solves for me is business file transfers. I can set up file transfers with simple drag-and-drop and move files from any machine or cloud. We use it to upload and download files securely, and it’s the one tool we’ve relied on for more than a decade in our operations. Since general upload and download is strictly not allowed in our organization, this solution fits our needs well. Performance-wise, it’s good. On pricing, I haven’t seen much increase over the last couple of years. From a support perspective, it’s always been the best—very professional. We had a recent session on the AI module, but we still need to explore more options there. My account manager and her support team are great. I've been a customer for almost ten years. They have helped me go from a single server to an HA farm. I had enough challenges with the advanced workflow engine (AWE) that we unlicensed our copy. I felt it was very challenging to use. I was never able to get the SharePoint tools to work the way I wanted them to work. I've made the standard event rules work for me. The old AWE has been replaced with Fortra Automate. I'm moving hundreds of thousands of files every day between cloud storage, NAS, local server shares and third parties. It works very reliably, I have very little downtime and it is cost effective. What do you dislike about Globalscape? A few things I noticed. Reporting has a lot of options, but when I’m troubleshooting transactions it isn’t always simple to find the specific details I need. Setting up event rules could be better as well; I hope the new UI improves this. Also, troubleshooting seems to require more expertise with the tool, so it isn’t very simple for new users. We were facing challenges with our SFTP file automation process. After implementing the Timer Event and FTC module in Globalscape EFT, our file processing and partner file consumption became seamless and efficient. One of the key advantages was its ability to integrate with multiple systems and support various SFTP connection protocols. This flexibility made it easier to manage file transfers across different environments. And support for multiple protocols make it a reliable choice, especially in the BFSI domain.
