"Givebutter: A One-Stop Shop for Fundraising with Room for Financial Features Expansion"
4/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I love that Givebutter combines the benefit of social media with very smart financial accounting practices. The consumer-facing platforms are fantastic, especially the fundraising pages, which make it easy to track donor engagements, conduct live fundraising, share goals, and upload stories in progress. These features remind me of platforms like Bandcamp or GoFundMe. I also find the external-facing communications tool really, really nice. The initial setup was extremely easy, which made it simple to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I would love for Givebutter to continue to level up its financial accounting practices. I would love to be able to run and process credit cards through Givebutter manually. My organization does a lot of live events, and the one thing Givebutter does not do for us right now is allow us to charge credit cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Austin 💛 We’re really glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the fundraising pages, engagement tools, and how easy it was to get started, that means a lot 😊

And thanks for the thoughtful feedback around card processing. For security reasons, we don’t have a way to manually enter full card details in the dashboard, but for live events, you can still collect payments using tools like Tap to Pay or a card reader/terminal.

That said, being able to add cards manually is a really helpful suggestion, and we’ll make sure to pass this along to our team as something to consider for the future.

"Easy-to-Use, Organized Payments with Helpful Integrations and Great Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

It’s easy to use and makes collecting funds and tracking payments super organized. The UI is simple and straightforward, and everything is easy to find. Integrations are helpful and make it work smoothly with other tools. It runs well without issues, and the overall value is great for what it offers. Support is responsive and onboarding is simple and quick to get started. The AI features also make certain tasks faster and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

It can take a little time to learn all the features at first since there’s a lot in one platform. A few areas could feel more streamlined, especially when navigating between tools. Some advanced options aren’t super intuitive right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Such a thoughtful review, JF, thank you so much for sharing this 💛

We’re really glad to hear Givebutter has been helping you stay organized and making payments and fundraising easier to manage, especially with everything in one place 😊

And we appreciate the note about the learning curve and navigation too, that’s really helpful feedback for us as we continue working to make things more intuitive 🙏

Wishing you all the best with your events and fundraisers!

"Effortlessly Streamlined Our Fundraising Process"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I appreciate the ease of use with Givebutter. It's really helpful that the platform offers multiple ways to accept payments from supporters. Also, the overall visual aspect of Givebutter is something I really like, as it makes it easy to display fundraising progress at our events and helps more people get on board with our cause. Having one platform to consolidate all our donation tracking makes the entire process so much smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I wish it were easier to tell the participants who want to raise money how to set up their own campaigns and to get people to donate directly to their campaigns. If there was a way that a campaign participant could create a team or an account and in one area that is easy to find could have a QR code and direct link to their fundraising efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Matt! 💛

We’re really glad to hear Givebutter has helped streamline your fundraising and made it easier to track everything in one place, that’s exactly what we hope for.

And that’s such great feedback about participant setup and having their own QR codes or links. You’re right, currently QR codes are campaign-level, so this is a really helpful suggestion and something we’ve shared with our team.

In the meantime, a workaround that’s helped others is adding a quick step-by-step guide for participants in the campaign story or emailing it to your team so they know exactly how to set up and share their pages.

Wishing you continued success with your events and fundraising! 🙏

"Effortless Fundraising, but Integration Needs a Check"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like that with Givebutter, you can easily use it for organizing fundraisers and donations. It keeps everything in one place, which is really helpful for me. The platform's ease of use has been beneficial for both classroom and student fundraisers. I also appreciate the personalized website feature, as I like that you can create a page users can go to for everything, which personalizes the experience. The integration has helped tremendously as we didn't have anything for our school before. The initial setup was great, making it easy for us to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

The integration to other sites. I tried to integrate onto a WordPress site but it didn't translate well. I'm not sure why as it did on the other Wordpress site I've used it for. This integration just didn't translate for some reason! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Katrina 💛

We’re really glad to hear that Givebutter has helped you keep everything organized and made fundraising easier for your school and students 😊

We also appreciate your feedback about the WordPress integration. If you’d like, please chat with us anytime, and we’d be happy to walk through it with you step by step to help get everything working smoothly.

Wishing you continued success with your fundraisers. We’re so glad to support your work! 🎉

"Intuitive and Versatile for Fundraising Events"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I really enjoy using Givebutter, especially for setting up online auctions and live fundraising events. The flexibility with QR codes is a big plus, allowing us to collect donations at various events and share them easily. It's great that donations can be made outside of events and on social media too. The intuitive and easy-to-use interface makes things straightforward from the start, which I appreciate. Overall, we are really happy with the features Givebutter offers. It makes it easy for contributors to give, which enhances the overall fundraising experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I don't remember specifics, but I know that from our last event that had an auction component, there were a few things that could have been easier to use concerning either returns or refunds. So we had an attendee bid on the wrong item, and we were trying to switch that, and it was just a little confusing. It took a while to get that taken care of, and so maybe that's something that could be worked on. But it was a small thing, and in the end, it was fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

This is so lovely to read, thank you for taking the time to share this, Katie! 💛

We’re really happy to hear that Givebutter has been helpful for your auctions and events, especially with QR codes and making it easy for people to give. That’s exactly what we aim for.

And thank you for calling out the experience with refunds and switching bids, that’s really helpful feedback for us.

Wishing you all the best with your future events 💛

"Free, Easy-to-Use CRM for Nonprofits With Responsive Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I love that it's free, and that the free options for nonprofits are the vast majority of what we need a CRM/donation platform/mailing platform. It's quick and easy to use, there's extensive FAQs and knowledgebase articles, and they are very responsive. It was a piece of cake to integrate the donation form onto our website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

My only gripe at the moment is that custom fields on donation forms don't automatically translate into custom fields on the contacts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Sof 💛 This honestly means a lot.

We’re so happy to hear Givebutter has been a great fit for your team, especially being able to manage donations, contacts, and communications all in one place without the extra cost.

We also really appreciate you calling out custom fields, that’s super helpful feedback. We can definitely see how having those map automatically would make things smoother.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this 💛

"Affordable and Nonprofit-Friendly Pricing That Works"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

The cost which for our nonprofit it works out well. This is the organizations first CRM and it is helping manage donors and campaigns. It is easy to use and implement. I really love the tech support via chat. Always very timely and can answer my questions-even if I don't like the answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

We could not use the newsletter or the registration for classes functionality because you can't edit much or remove features. For example, when I go to register for a class, I don't want to see the donation box anywhere. Or when we want to send a newsletter, we can't insert a pdf from CANVA that has all of the links or change the width or size of the newsletter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, Vickie! 💛 So happy to hear that managing donors and campaigns has been easier and that the support team has been helpful along the way.

We hear you about the donation box for class registrations. If you’re using the ticketing feature, that box can actually be hidden for you.

We also appreciate your feedback about Canva and newsletter customization, and our team is looking into ways to make that smoother. Wishing you lots of success and happy fundraising!

"Effortlessly Streamlines Fundraising Events"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I really like how Givebutter makes it so much easier to collect and raise money and issue receipts to donors. There are so many options to design donations, and it's great that I can create tickets for multiple things. I also appreciate that I can set a specific number of tickets and a time frame, making it easy to know when teams are full. The initial setup process was very easy to follow, allowing me to share to social media and make adjustments after setup was complete. I definitely plan to use it again next April. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I would like to transfer partial funds out at a time instead of full funds but other than that perfect Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Katelynn 💛 We’re really glad to hear that Givebutter made it easier to manage your fundraising, tickets, and donor receipts, and that setup felt smooth from the start 😊

We also appreciate your feedback about payouts. For reference, you can transfer funds in part rather than all at once, and we’d be happy to walk you through it anytime!

Wishing you all the best for your next event. We’re excited to support you again next April! 🎉

"Intuitive Interface, But Tax Issues Make It SO EXPENSIVE!!"
0/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like the interface in Givebutter. It's just easier to use, and it's a better experience for the donors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

It doesn't collect sales tax on auctions, which means we are liable to pay for the taxes out of pocket. This makes the product ~10% more expensive than any competitor!!! We almost missed this and could have been audited by the IRS. The product is riddled with dark UX patterns. The product claims to have user opt in for tips, but many users report not noticing that they're paying them. When our nonprofit went to withdraw funds from the product, we were deceived into giving GB a 3% tip! Thankfully, they offered to refund this tip, but I imagine that many people don't notice or miss the window request a refund. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Hi there! Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. We understand how tips and fees can sometimes be confusing. Just to clarify, donors are never required to give a tip. Our platform is completely flexible, and organizations can disable tipping if they prefer. If a tip is accidentally added, we’re always happy to refund it.

We also have a guarantee to cover processing fees if tips are enabled and donors choose not to pay them, so you can be sure the organization’s donation stays 100% theirs. We know tipping isn’t for everyone, so the option to disable it is always available.

We hear you about sales tax as well. This is something our team is continually working to improve, and we really appreciate your patience while we make updates.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. Your feedback helps us make things even clearer for everyone!

"Versatile Fundraising Tools with Robust Ticketing and Engaging Auctions"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

The versatility of fundraising tools is amazing. The ticketing software is robust, the auction is fun and engaging, the forms are perfect for capturing sponsor info and processing requests to perform with our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

The platform really seems to prefer each team member have their own account, rather than an organizational account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Melodie, this was so lovely to read! 💛
