"Givebutter: Responsive Team, Robust Low-Cost CRM for Nonprofits"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

Givebutter meets our fundraising needs while simultaneously being understanding of nonprofit resources - both staff and financial, both of which are limited. The responsiveness of the team, the low price for such a robust CRM, it can't be beat. And I've tried many during my nearly two decades in development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

There are things here and there we wish the platform did, but it's nothing any other platform offers and we know Givebutter is working on new features all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

This is such a lovely review. 💛

Hearing this from someone with nearly two decades of fundraising experience means a lot to us. We're thrilled that Givebutter has been able to support your fundraising, finance, marketing, and development teams all in one place while remaining accessible for nonprofits with limited resources.

Thank you for trusting Givebutter and for taking the time to share your experience. We're cheering you on and wishing your team continued success! 😊

"Affordable All-in-One with Room for Improvement"

What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like that Givebutter provides a central repository for our campaign page, ticket sales, and auction fundraising, which automatically integrates with our ongoing donor management. The front end user interface is very easy to use, and the campaign page setup was quite easy. I appreciate that the Givebutter team is very attentive to issues that arise. Additionally, we liked that Givebutter is an all-in-one solution, and it's the cheapest option with great customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

The backend utility of Givebutter needs work. I need to be able to do more editing to subject lines on auto emails, and have bidder and ticket integration so it's not two steps. The mobile app and the desktop experience do not seem to be in sync. You can check people out on the app, but not on desktop. You can assign bidder numbers on desktop but not on app. The app was not charging fees for admin running vaulted cards. For the 'buy it now', a bidder could only buy once, not in multiples. All 'buy it now' items sent an email saying 'Congratulations on Winning', which doesn't make sense for a paddle raise or raffle ticket purchase. Tech support/updates seem hodgepodge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Hi Kristi, thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback 💛

We’re really glad to hear that you’ve had a positive experience with the campaign setup, overall ease of use, and support from our team. That truly means a lot to us.

We also appreciate you calling out some of the areas that felt limiting or confusing. For example, with Buy Now items, purchases are currently processed one at a time rather than through a cart-style checkout, so supporters would need to complete each purchase individually. We understand how a more streamlined multi-item checkout experience could be helpful, and we’ve shared that feedback with our team.

You also mentioned differences between the mobile app and desktop experience. While each is designed for slightly different use cases (with the app focused more on live event actions), we completely understand how that can feel inconsistent in practice, and your feedback here is really valuable.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to share all of this. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving, and we’re always here if you’d like to walk through any of these workflows together or explore options that best fit your events.

Thank you again for choosing Givebutter 💛

"An intuitive fundraising platform that’s easy to launch and manage"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

Givebutter is extremely easy to use and doesn’t require much technical knowledge to get started. I really like how everything - donations, fundraising pages, donor information, and event tools is centralized in one platform. The interface is clean and intuitive, which makes it easy to train new team members quickly. I also appreciate the transparency around fees and the flexibility it gives donors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

While Givebutter is very user-friendly, some advanced customization options are limited, especially for organizations that want more control over branding or detailed reporting. Certain features could benefit from more advanced filtering and analytics. Additionally, some integrations require workarounds rather than seamless setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

This is such a lovely review 💛 so happy to hear everything being in one place is making fundraising easier and helping your team get started quickly! We totally hear you about the advanced customization and integrations. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts; it really helps us keep improving. Thanks for your love and for choosing Givebutter 💛 can’t wait to see all the amazing fundraising you accomplish!

"Quick Setup, Ideal for Nonprofits"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like that Givebutter was very quick and free to set up. We were having success in adding more users through auction sponsors and donors, and it was easy to move to a paid plan to expand the capabilities. I also like that it's pretty easy to use. As the main admin, I was able to add in other users and get them trained on basic functionality pretty quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

The reporting could use some work. There were definitely some workflows around events and auctions where we were trying to get really quick and easy views of certain things. For example, auction winners who had not yet paid for their items, that was fairly difficult to come up with in a quick and easy way. Standard things when viewing data like clicking on a column header, being able to filter that column from a list of available values seem to be inconsistently applied where you would just expect them to be available on all columns. It seems like the foundational functionality for reporting is there, but building custom views was either not possible or was more complicated than it seemed to need to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Kris 💛 We’re really glad to hear Givebutter helped you get up and running quickly and made it easy for your team to collaborate, that means a lot 😊

And thank you for the thoughtful feedback on reporting. Just to share, you can view things like unpaid auction winners from the Winning Bids tab, and customize your view by adding columns (like Payment and Status) or using filters such as “Awaiting Payment” to quickly surface that information.

That said, we completely understand how having these views be more obvious and quicker to access would make a big difference. We’ve shared this with our team as feedback to make reporting and filtering more intuitive.

If you’d like, feel free to chat with us anytime. We’d be happy to walk you through it and help you set up the views you need 🤗

"Effortless Fundraising with Zero Fees"

What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like that Givebutter is very user-friendly. The campaign setup is just a few steps, making it easy to articulate what I'm raising funds for. The tools for sharing, like QR codes and live links, make it quick to share campaigns on LinkedIn, Facebook, or other social media without extra steps, allowing me to focus on other things. It's straightforward to initiate transfers of funds to my account and send out newsletters or thank-you updates to contributors, which helps maintain relationships and increase future donations. It was also very easy to upload the necessary documents and receive verified nonprofit status quickly. I also found it helpful that it's easy to add extra users so that accounting and leadership can view transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

Occasionally, it's difficult to find the right steps to create something or the user guides I'm looking for. I found it easier to Google the silent auction information than trying to locate it through the Givebutter page itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Hi Sabrina! Thanks so much for this, we really appreciate you 💛

We’re so glad to hear that Givebutter has been easy to use for your team and that it’s helping you manage campaigns and donor relationships more smoothly 😊

We also appreciate you calling out the experience with finding guides and resources. That’s really helpful feedback, and we’re always working to make things easier to navigate.

And just so you know, our team is here 24/7 and always happy to help whenever you need a hand. 💛

Thanks again for being part of Givebutter and for all the amazing work you’re doing! ✨

"Effortless Silent Auction Management, User-Friendly Experience"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I think I love how easy it is to access Givebutter. It's honestly very user-friendly and has all of the things I'm looking for when it comes to technology, especially for silent auctions, which have great options and features. The features are so user-friendly and make it easy to navigate through them, saving me time and effort in listing auction items. I particularly appreciate that it makes the process quick, allowing me to work during my spare time or lunch hours. The initial setup was super easy, as we could transfer things from previous years and just edit them for the new year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

One thing I dislike about Givebutter is when I am attempting to list a silent auction item, and may not have all of the components yet such as an image of the item, I cannot save the listing as a "draft." The entire listing needs to be "complete" in order to even attempt to save it as a draft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Patrycja 💛 We’re really glad to hear Givebutter has been helpful for your silent auctions and that it’s been easy to use and save you time.

And thank you for calling this out as well. Just to share, an image isn’t required to save an item, but some basic fields (like the item name and a few details) do need to be filled in first. That said, we totally understand how having a more flexible draft option, even for incomplete items, would make things easier, especially when you’re working in short bursts.

We’ve shared this with our team as helpful feedback. And if you ever want help setting things up or run into questions, feel free to chat with us anytime, we’re always happy to help 🤗

"Effortless Fundraising with Awesome Features"

What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like the ability to host an auction as part of our fundraising event. We also appreciate the CRM tracking ability for donors. It makes it easier to stay compliant for tax purposes and donor recognition. The auction running concurrently with the event makes it easy to direct donors and bidders to the same place. I also switched to Givebutter because of the easier tracking of team members and easier navigation of the dashboard. The initial setup was relatively easy as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

Splitting lump sum donations between team members. We have donors who make one lump donation for two team members and the ability to split the donation would be beneficial for our internal tracking. For instance, if a donor donates $100, but wants $50 to go to one team member and $50 to go to another team member, there isn't a way to cleanly separate it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Michelle 💛

We’re really happy to hear Givebutter has been helpful for your events, especially with auctions, team tracking, and keeping everything organized for compliance and donor recognition 😊

And we really appreciate you pointing out the need to split donations between team members. That’s a great callout, and we can definitely see how that would make tracking much easier on your end. We’ll be sure to share this with our team.

Wishing you all the best with your fundraising and events!

"Free and User-Friendly, Needs Team Management Improvements"
4/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I love that Givebutter is free to use and relatively user-friendly. It's great that folks can register for the event, join a team, or create a team seamlessly. The cost is a significant advantage since we don't have funds to pay for additional software services. It's exciting to have a good tool that's free of charge, or charged to our donors who can pay the fees. We switched to Givebutter for the peer-to-peer function from MightyCause, and it has been an improvement for sure. It's easier for our donors to navigate, which is important to us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

When folks have teams, it's really hard for them to get to their own page and see who's given to them. We have to look at it on the backend and only then by pulling reports. It's even hard for us to see that. So the 'team' part of it is sort of clunky and even hidden. Some of the details were hard to figure out. We had several test sites going to get all the little pieces right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Virginia 💛 We’re really glad to hear Givebutter has been a helpful and accessible option for your team, especially with peer-to-peer fundraising and keeping things easy for your donors 😊

And we really appreciate you calling out the team experience. Team members do have the option to see their supporters from their profile, but we hear you that making this more visible and easier to access, especially publicly per team member, would be a big improvement. That’s great feedback, and we’ll be sure to share this with our team 🙏

Wishing you all the best with your fundraising efforts!
