What do you like best about Givebutter?

I really appreciate many aspects of GiveButter Plus. Top improvements for me would be: 1. Standard fees across the different types of campaigns is an improvement. 2. Being able to tailor the portion of ticket sales that are tax-deductible. 3. Automations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I am still disappointed by the limitations on finding duplicate accounts. I have also found that there are several reporting needs for which Givebutter doesn't have capacity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Givebutter’s Intuitive All-in-One Fundraising Platform Saves Us Hours"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

What I like best about Givebutter is its intuitive interface and all-in-one functionality. The drag-and-drop builder allows us to create donation pages quickly, saving hours of work. We also benefit from real-time analytics and built-in donor management, which help us better understand and engage our supporters. Having fundraising, events, and peer-to-peer tools in one platform has significantly improved our workflow and reduced the need for multiple services. The transparent pricing model and responsive support team are also a big advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

The event ticketing system could be improved. It would be helpful to have fully generated PDF tickets and Apple Wallet support for a better user experience. Also, at event check-in, support for external barcode scanners connected to a computer (not just mobile app scanning) would make entry faster and more efficient. Additionally, donation form embeds need more customization options, such as flexible sizing and the ability to disable recurring donations in specific placements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Dmitrii 💛 this truly means a lot 😊

We’re so glad to hear Givebutter has been saving you time and helping streamline your workflow. Having everything in one place and making it easier to engage supporters is exactly what we aim for, so it’s amazing to hear that’s been your experience.

We also really appreciate the detailed feedback on event ticketing and embeds. Ideas like PDF tickets, Apple Wallet support, and more flexibility with donation forms are incredibly helpful for our team as we continue improving the platform.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this, and we’re cheering you on in all the great work you’re doing 💛

"Transformative Tool for Nonprofit Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like Givebutter because it's simple and intuitive to use, which is great for managing events, ticketing, and donation campaigns for my nonprofit dance company. It solves the problem of losing a percentage of our ticket sales because Givebutter doesn't take a cut, and patrons can choose to donate to the platform. I find it beneficial to have one place to do CRM, track donors, and manage emails. I also appreciate Givebutter's feature of duplicating past campaigns, as it reduces my workload when creating new campaigns. Even without upgrading to premium, the free account meets all our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

The email newsletter options at the free level are very primitive. They don't have a lot of design options. Making different segments of my audience has been limited but seems to be improving. It's just not as beautifully curated as some of the email newsletters I've done through Mailchimp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Aww, Jessica, so sweet of you to do that! Thank you so much for spreading the love to your friends 💛 It means the world! So happy it’s been a good fit for your nonprofit and is helping keep everything in one place. Totally hear you on the newsletter templates, fingers crossed we can make those better down the road. Thank you for sharing your experience. We really appreciate you! 🌟

"Easy, convenient & straightforward"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

We have consistently been using Givebutter for our small non profit and we are actually considering upgrading to Givebutter Plus since they have introduced new features and services that our organization needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

A few minor improvements would just be the ability to make changes to subject lines for emails that go out (purchases or donations), and just general formatting options and changes - moving description section up, more freedom with formatting (what goes where). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Yay, this makes us so happy! 😊 Thanks so much for sharing. We're happy that it's been helping you keep everything in one place and making your campaigns easier to run. And totally get you on the features — always room to grow, and we love hearing what could make things even better. Thanks for being here with us! 💛

"Givebutter has great support for non-profit fundraisers"

What do you like best about Givebutter?

Givebutter has an excellent interface to embed on our website, responsive customer service, and helpful resources. The webinars are fantastic! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

We had a couple of missteps transferring contacts from our previous software, and we had to make a couple of attempts at uploading clean data - it was a challenge to delete the first upload, but the customer service team was very helpful, and ultimately, we got it sorted out. Since then we had no issues. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sunny Ellis of Givebutter

Thanks for buttering us up, Linda! 🫶 We're glad to hear that your contact import ended up being a success and that you're raising more money than ever before by using Givebutter! 🎉

"Effortless Fundraising with Givebutter, Needs Fee Transparency"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I like using Givebutter for fundraising campaigns for my nonprofit organization. It makes conducting a fundraising campaign much easier. I like the aesthetics of the platform, and it's very convenient because we can easily post it to social media or send out the link via email. I appreciate the ease of using the software, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to transfer funds from the Givebutter account to my checking account or the association's checking account. The initial setup was also very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I think there needs to be a little more transparency in the optional fees. It seems like it just defaults to giving a tip to Givebutter, and that takes some of our donors by surprise. Maybe if it was just a little more upfront as to how the tip would be added and how they can calculate that, what their final donation amount will be. That would be appreciated for our members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thanks so much, Sonja! 💛 We're so glad to hear Givebutter has made fundraising easier for your nonprofit and that you've had a smooth experience, from setting up campaigns to sharing them and transferring funds.

We also really appreciate your feedback about tip transparency. We do give organizations the option to disable donor tips if that approach is a better fit for their fundraising experience, but we completely understand your perspective and appreciate you sharing it. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving the experience for both organizations and their donors.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review, and for everything you do to support your community! 💚

"Easy to Use with Solid Fundraising Features"
4/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

I use Givebutter for fundraising at a nonprofit school. I appreciate that it's really easy to use and I don't have to pay anything extra to use it, which saves a lot of money. The easy organization is a plus too, and the campaigns are good. Sending out end-of-year summaries to all the people who donated without having to manually do it is probably one of the best features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

Some of the campaigns do have trouble, especially when we want to do a raffle ticket system. This one doesn't work for that, and we ended up using something else. So I'd say it's not going to 100% cover a nonprofits needs. The tip system does get frustrating for some people. I understand why it's there, and it does a good job explaining, but still, it's frustrating for some. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for sharing this, Thomas 💛 we’re really glad to hear Givebutter has been easy to use and helping save time, especially with things like end-of-year summaries.

We also really appreciate you calling this out. Totally hear you on the raffle setup, it can depend a bit on how you’re looking to run it, and we’d be happy to help walk through options that might work better for your use case.

For tips, we understand how that can feel for some donors. Just a heads up that this is something you can customize or turn off entirely depending on what works best for your organization.

If you ever want to explore setups or need a hand, our team is always here 24/7 and happy to help 💛

"Streamlined All-in-One Hub for Nonprofits with Fast, Responsive Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

What I really appreciate about Givebutter is that it works as a streamlined, all-in-one platform for most nonprofits. Before signing up for Plus, I relied on several different tools—Mailchimp for email marketing, Eventbrite for ticket sales, and a bunch of spreadsheets to track donor and fundraising data. Givebutter has made my job easier by serving as a central hub for most of what I was already using. I also appreciate how fast and responsive the team is, especially after joining. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

There are some limits on customization, especially around user permissions. I wish there were a way to tailor a user’s role so they only have access to certain features, since every situation is different. I also wish there were more options for customizing emails and texts, including additional templates to choose from. Another improvement would be the ability to send text messages back and forth through the Engage tab; that would be helpful when I need to contact a donor without having to use a cellular device. Pricing-wise, I think it’s very reasonable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thanks so much for such a detailed review, Haleina. We really appreciate you taking the time to share this 💛

We’re so glad to hear Givebutter has helped bring everything into one place and made your day-to-day work easier, especially coming from using multiple tools before.

And thank you for the thoughtful feedback around user permissions, customization, and messaging. Those are really valuable insights, and we’ve shared them with our team as we continue improving.

Wishing you continued success with all your campaigns!

"Givebutter: Intuitive, Easy, and Perfect for Fundraising on a Free Tier"
5/5
What do you like best about Givebutter?

As someone who has fundraised professionally and used many donor platforms, Givebutter is easily the best. It’s easy to use, it’s intuitive, it allows me to do everything I need, and it’s free tier allows my small nonprofit to keep the funds we raise and put it toward the work we do rather than to overhead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

I haven’t found much, to be honest. I’d love to be able to customize the event pages a little more, but I am using the free version of Givebutter and certainly do not expect that kind of functionality for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Shiella D of Givebutter

Thank you so much for this, Sarah! 💛 We’re really happy to hear Givebutter has been such a great fit for you and your team, especially being able to keep everything in one place and make the most out of the free tier. That means a lot.

And we appreciate you mentioning event page customization too; that’s helpful insight for us as we continue improving things. Wishing you and your nonprofit all the best with your amazing work!

What do you like best about Givebutter?

It has been still a great experience. The donor management is such a nice touch to have available to us, and integrated into our events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

Sometimes reports are the most intuitive, but we can get there! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sunny Ellis of Givebutter

Yay, Amy! We love that you got to keep more money from your fundraising efforts! 💛 Thanks for surfacing the concern about registration confirmations via email. We're always working to improve Givebutter and feedback from changemakers like you is the most important part of that process. 🫶
