Provides free hosting and we don't have to worry about down time as they have multiple backup servers so we receive 100% uptime for all pages hosted on Gitlab for free. If if you find yourself continuously committing code to gitlab, then why not using it to host your website or product landing page as well? The fact it can't host dynamic content is surely something to account for. It is also less usable than using a FTP client if you are not used to committing code to git.
