"Powerful enough for experts, simple enough for everyone: best Git GUI out there"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Git Tower makes everything involved with managing Git repositories seamless and easy to use. The UI is easy to navigate and complex actions are presented in a simplified manner without obscuring options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

My one complaint is the diff mode in GitTower is less intuitive than many other tools. This can make understanding changes in the working copy or commit history more challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Sam!

If you have any suggestions on how we could improve diff visualization, we'd be delighted to hear them! You can tweet us at @gittower or contact us - https://www.git-tower.com/support/contact

"A powerful git with a simple UI"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

The best thing about git tower is it's easy to use graphical interface. Away from git command line, git tower servers as a great level of abstraction. For Mac and windows, it works like magic because of the interface it offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

A no-verify on push is definitely recommend to make it a better experience. Also , sometimes the page feels too clumsy with a lot of information on a single page. With reduction in pricing, there will be many clients to hit tower :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review! We plan to implement the --no-verify option soon.

"Git Tower: The Ultimate Git Companion"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Great User Interface. Hard things are easy.

I especially like the commit interface. I can easily select the files to be included in the commit, and I see a beautiful diff of the changes right there on the commit screen. In that Diff view, I can unstage chunks (or delete them entirely) right on that screen. I have made a careful review of these diffs and integral part of my Git workflow. Nothing gets commited without a thorough review of the diffs. This practice has dramtically reduced errors that would be caught (or not) later in code review. It has also made it easy to batch a bunch of changes into several smaller commits that are more cohesive which makes my Git history much more useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

I can't think of anything I dislike. It works very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review, Scott! We're super happy to learn how Tower has helped you in creating better commits :)

"Excellent first-class native Mac app for git users"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Tower is fast, clean and fully native. This isn't some Electron of Java port of a poor Windows app - this is a thoroughly well thought out native Mac app that feels right at home on my computer. Support for services such as Github and Bitbucket is built in, so you can list and clone your repos easily, and make pull requests straight from within the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

Nothing really - a version for iOS would be nice, but there's not really anything to complain about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for the kind words! We're glad to have you with us 🙏

"Git Tower GUI Review (MacOS Experience)"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

The UI is very user-friendly and beginner-friendly, yet you can still do much more than Github Desktop or any other Git GUI that I tried yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

It's not a free Git GUI, but in my opinion, it's worth the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review, Enzo! Glad we made Git easier to use 😎

"Best version control"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

It's easy to use interface is great. You only have to focus on the daily task instead of focusing on Git or how the Git work. It's the security and efficiency is awesome. One can easily relay on Git tower Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

I don't like the pricing of the Git tower. At this price there are many free tool which done the job. The pricing is not competitive. I think cloud storage is bit low. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your input! We're very happy to learn how Tower helps you work more efficiently 😎

"Don't know how I lived without it!"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Before being introduced to Tower by a coworker, I was a strictly command-line Git user. It has changed my working life, and given me far more confidence in using Git. The user interface is intuitive, and I am seldom in any doubt about what I need to do for any given operation.

As an aside: I set up an alternate working environment on Ubuntu desktop recently, and decided to use Github Desktop for my Git client. It is so weak compared with Tower! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

It's a little difficult to search for a branch—and I have a ton of branches. I end up doing it in the terminal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Mark! You can use our Quick Actions command (CMD+SHIFT+A) to quickly search for/checkout other branches.

"A Simple and Great Git GUI"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

I like that it's easy to visually see which branch I am on, view and stage lines, chunks, or files, and keyboard shortcuts make pushing and pulling effortless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

The downsides of using Tower are limited, in my opinion. The one that stands out most to me is that I have become so accustomed to using Git Tower's GUI for years, and I find it difficult to remember the proper git commands needed on the command line. However, a quick search can have me back up and running when Git Tower is not at my disposal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Nick! We're happy to provide some much-needed visual aid 😎

We also provide some Git cheat sheets (like this one - https://www.git-tower.com/learn/cheat-sheets/git/ ) for those times where you really need to use the command line ☺️

"A very happy customer"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

I like the simplified git reflog mapped to undo/redo keybord shortcuts. It intuitively groups multiple git commands into a single undo/redo action. A great escape hatch when you make a mistake.

I like the ability to view Git LFS image diffs.

I like the simple drag and drop rebase and rebase --onto options, and the new force push with lease button. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

Unable to filter git commit history view to only my commits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for the detailed review, Tim! We're glad to know that you're benefiting from Tower's advanced features :)

Regarding the possibility to "filter git commit history view to only my commits". In Tower you can filter by author, which should do the trick. Please let us know if something is missing!

"The best Git client I've ever used"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

It just feels right. Tower isn't a bloated and messy Electron app. And being a Mac User, having native software that blends in perfectly with my workflow is key. It's much more intutitive than other Git clients I tried - and even more powerful.

The GitHub integration is very useful too, and removed some of my annoying application hopping.

Git Tower also offers a free license to students, from which offer I got to know the software in the first place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

Nothing, really. Except that it may became such a substantial part of my workflow that I basically forgot how to use Git as a CLI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for the flattering review, Tobias! Glad you enjoy our GitHub integration and appreciate Tower's native experience 🥳
