"Great Sofware that is easy to use"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

I like the Tower has a very intuitive UI. When compared to Souce Tree, Git Tower is more powerful. It allows me to sync to my GitHub account and view all of my repositories. I can even create new ones as well. Overall, the software runs very smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

I dislike that you have to purchase a license for it. I got my license for free because I am a student. But at $99/yr for a Pro license. Seems steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Hunter! Glad you enjoy our GitHub integration. Best of luck with your studies ☺️

"Git UIs Can Be Amazing Too!"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Hardcore devs will try to guilt shame you if you use and UI for the git command line...but Tower makes it all worth it. This tool is amazing for working with git. It is so nice to be able to swap to a separate dedicated app and view your changes in real-time without having to touch anything in a terminal. Being able to partially stage and commit files in the UI leads to smaller more atomic commits. It also makes creating, merging, rebasing, forking and so much more trivial. I have even converted some of the ardent cli users to Tower and they will never go back.

This is one of the few pieces of software I will pay for personal use instead of using free alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

This might be fixed, but there isn't a way to pull down a PR on top of a local branch directly. Not a huge deal but a minor inconvenience. It would also be great if they added support in the UI for conventional commits format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Jason! We're very happy to learn how Tower helps you work more efficiently and also delighted to hear that you've converted some CLI users along the way 😎

We will see what can be done to improve the points you've mentioned. Thank you for sharing!

"Incredibly intuitive and fast Git client"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

In my opinion, the best part of the app is its simplicity. The Git Tower team has done an incredible job in making it as easy to use as possible.

The job of a developer is complex enough as it is, so I appreciate every bit of help I can get in making things as smooth and intuitive as possible.

And for all the devs out there that prefer the command line, I feel you. I was actually a heavy git CLI user. And sometimes I still fall back to it if I'm already in the terminal.

But let me tell you that with Tower you can save even more keystrokes with the keyboard shortcuts. And on top of that, you'll free up some valuable mental space 😉 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

To be honest... there's not a single thing that comes to mind that I genuinely don't like. I guess that's proof of how much I actually like it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Fabio! We're honored to have you on board 🥳

"Best Git client for macOS"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

I primarily use Git Tower to make commits and view history. For this, it is excellent. Also, Git Tower is a native "Mac-assed" Mac app -- a rare find these days with so many terrible electron-based apps out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

I wish Git Tower had better support for cherry-picking changes within a single file when committing. However, everything else works so well that this wouldn't stop me from recommending it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your input and for the cherry-picking suggestion, Jesse!

We hope you continue to enjoy using Tower ✌️

"User point of view"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

It is the best UI handle and version clients. The level of commits is very easy and we can get started with any model of git. The level of speed can give a huge competition in the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

It is a bit pricy in comparison to different git sources. The GUI is all good with a low environment. Cost-effectiveness could be there. The user interface and workflow could be much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review!

"Amazing and essential tool for Developer"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

It is a beautifully designed and handy Mac Os app. It helps us quickly understand Git. We can do the same work using the command line, but why waste time? Git Tower makes things very more straightforward and more effortless. It makes operations accessible, like drag and drop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

Not a thing but with Git Tower, I may forget the git commands. Git Tower has everything I need for understanding and using Git smoothly. So, there is nothing I dislike about Tower. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review, Deepika! We hope you continue to enjoy using Tower 😎

"Powerful enough for experts, simple enough for everyone: best Git GUI out there"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Git Tower makes everything involved with managing Git repositories seamless and easy to use. The UI is easy to navigate and complex actions are presented in a simplified manner without obscuring options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

My one complaint is the diff mode in GitTower is less intuitive than many other tools. This can make understanding changes in the working copy or commit history more challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your feedback, Sam!

If you have any suggestions on how we could improve diff visualization, we'd be delighted to hear them! You can tweet us at @gittower or contact us - https://www.git-tower.com/support/contact

"A powerful git with a simple UI"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

The best thing about git tower is it's easy to use graphical interface. Away from git command line, git tower servers as a great level of abstraction. For Mac and windows, it works like magic because of the interface it offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

A no-verify on push is definitely recommend to make it a better experience. Also , sometimes the page feels too clumsy with a lot of information on a single page. With reduction in pricing, there will be many clients to hit tower :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review! We plan to implement the --no-verify option soon.

"Git Tower: The Ultimate Git Companion"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Great User Interface. Hard things are easy.

I especially like the commit interface. I can easily select the files to be included in the commit, and I see a beautiful diff of the changes right there on the commit screen. In that Diff view, I can unstage chunks (or delete them entirely) right on that screen. I have made a careful review of these diffs and integral part of my Git workflow. Nothing gets commited without a thorough review of the diffs. This practice has dramtically reduced errors that would be caught (or not) later in code review. It has also made it easy to batch a bunch of changes into several smaller commits that are more cohesive which makes my Git history much more useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

I can't think of anything I dislike. It works very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for your review, Scott! We're super happy to learn how Tower has helped you in creating better commits :)

"Excellent first-class native Mac app for git users"
What do you like best about Git Tower?

Tower is fast, clean and fully native. This isn't some Electron of Java port of a poor Windows app - this is a thoroughly well thought out native Mac app that feels right at home on my computer. Support for services such as Github and Bitbucket is built in, so you can list and clone your repos easily, and make pull requests straight from within the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git Tower?

Nothing really - a version for iOS would be nice, but there's not really anything to complain about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bruno Brito of Git Tower

Thank you for the kind words! We're glad to have you with us 🙏
