GIMP is the only powerful application available for Linux OS. No other software can match the level of features and tools available in GIMP. I am using GIMP for almost 3+ years and mostly I use it to retouch, color or correcting images for website development. Its feature of resizing images without losing quality is awesome. GIMP is surely the most powerful FREE image editing software. It has almost all the most desired tools, filters and effects. As many famous free software, it enjoy a vast and supportive community. The main problem is that since most people comes from the major paid products, the workflow of GIMP is largely different ad unsettling. All the shortcuts, the gestures and the right clicks behave differently from any other image editor you may have learned before. This is a issue even if this is the first software you learn.
