Among the newsletter tools we have tested, GetResponse is one of the few that is really intended for inbound marketing. It has flexible forms, a landing page editor, integration with Google Analytics and sophisticated automation for segmentation and sending of emails. This allows you to both capture new contacts and take care of them. In addition, it even allows webinars. Definetly, I don't like the UX, i think they want to give us a lot of functions but no one is functional, the support is not fast or efficient, is a service that has a lot to improve. Not recommended if: You need good levels of deliverability: Deliverability should be important to any email marketing manager. The results of our deliverability tests (in English) were not very good in the case of GetResponse, so if it is something very important to you, we recommend that you consider other options. Of course, the deliverability rate can always change, we hope that this will improve in the next tests. The on boarding is excellent. To me it was light years ahead of the competition. The highly visual style of everything and the overall look and feel are comforting. While they have tech support they are quickly dismissive. I had a problem with the security of my site and people getting warning alerts when landing on my page. All they would say is “not happening on our end”. Consequently I drove a lot of traffic to a dysfunctional site and got no conversions and they couldn’t help me so what’s the point? I think the most egregious thing as a newbie is that while they brought my domain name over they did not bring my email. So here I was thinking my email worked and it didn’t. The support people just seem to want to move on as quickly as possible they are not really concerned about you like they are at AWeber. They should really consider a concierge service to help people get off the ground. If we fail, they fail too, but if we succeed you have a customer for life. Recommendations to others considering GetResponse: Use the autoresponder only, test, test, test. Don’t expect much from tech support and don’t expect details on what your traffic is doing on your site if you use their landing page builder. I think it’s a step above Mailchimp in UI/ UX but I think you really have to cut your teeth on something like Mailchimp before you can graduate to GetResponse. What do you dislike about GetResponse? I disliked how many times I would have to guess with size and messing with text boxes. I had to send myself several test runs before I got it right. Delivering emails to a list is pretty straightforward and works well, and I appreciate the "Perfect Timing" feature which I haven't seen on similar email delivery services. The reporting of open rate, clickthrough rate, etc, has worked well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GetResponse? The newsletter builder is a disaster. The UI frequently gets in its own way, the pre-made templates are tacky and outdated, and you're limited to a hilarious set of design tools that seem to come straight from Microsoft Word 1997. I like the ease of the email templates, there are many creative ones you can use and work with. I like how they show me the analytics of the emails after it has been sent, such as who has opened it, what links they click, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GetResponse? I do not like the platform. It can get really confusing on where to navigate or do things. Uploading contacts is sort of a pain, and there isn't an option for cleaning your lists. Also, everytime you want a new contact list to be uploaded, you need to create a different campaign, which gets tremendously confusing because what if I wanted to use different newsletters for different campaigns or the same newsletter for different campaigns, etc. All in all, it gets very confusing and is not that user friendly.
