What I like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital is how user friendly it is from both the perspectives of the general volunteer user as well as my perspective as a manger on the backend. I am never lost or confused on how to create opportunities, new users, etc. and for anything I do not understand, the Galaxy Digital is always responsive and helpful. The one thing I would like to better understand with this management portal is how to facilitate specific exports. I know there is a tab somewhere on the site where you can analyze data, but the one time I used it, I was overwhelmed by the amount of reports to be created and did not know if I was creating the desired report. 99% of what a volunteer management professional needs to effectively run a volunteer program in the 21st century can be hosted by Get Connected by Galaxy Digital. Staff are helpful, clear, and requests are answered promptly. They are open to feedback and willing to incorporate other ideas as it works with their programming. It'd be great if there were trainings available for volunteers, as there are for program managers and Site Administrators. Also, pre-made SOPs based off the LMS training would be great. The ability to customize additional documents to be uploaded by Admin and accessible by Volunteers (e.g., beyond the singular Waiver option) would be a game changer. If the site could accommodate non-English speakers and those with visual or light-sensitivity issues, that's increase accessibility and inclusivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The site is great for tracking data and contact information for large volunteer database. I've been using it for a few months now and the customer support team has made it a great experience! Get Connected platforms are very user friendly on the volunteer side of things, and adjusting volunteers to the platform (even those who are not tech savvy) has been relatively easy! I dislike that there are not notifications for new applications. However, if you check them regularly, it's not a problem. It is also difficult for volunteers to clock in using the kiosk if they are not signed up for an Opportunity. I would like to be able to have general volunteers be able to clock in, not associated with any particular opportunity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The onboarding process was simple and very easy to complete. The video training was extremely helpful and was a clear process from start to finish. followed up by stellar customer service. What I really love is the versatility on the program, you can be creative in how you set things up and how you track your data and volunteer database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can honestly say I have not experienced any downside, however I have learned that speaking with software engineers you need to communicate a little different when asking technical questions. Just give more details and examples to describe challenges. Maybe how the home page is setup, couild be more customized layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does help immensely with hours tracking, we participate in the president's award, so this has saved me many painful hours of tracking hours.
Also being able to adjust the opportunity to include the teacher's name and classroom assignment is amazing. Before I would do this manually but now I can update the opportunity and the volunteers can check before there assigned shift.

It doesn't work well with the Multi-Day Setting. I think overall there could be some more capabilities for scheduling.
For exp:
We host summer camps, they can volunteer 1/2 day or full day (5 day commitment Mon-Fri)
At 6 different locations, a total of 37 classrooms
Each class has a 1 full-day spot and a 2 half-day spot
At just one location we had to have 198 Multi-Date opportunities, very hard to manage. Its doable but I hope we can make improvements in the future for Multi-Date functions. Also so they show up in the Calendar.
I would like an easy roster view for the teacher to be able to see who their volunteers are, you can find it but for teachers, I feel it's not easy to pull up. Especially with so many opportunities to navigate through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When you have a skilled IT person who can't work with your software, there's a problem. This is the second time we have tried to utilize Galaxy Digital. While the presentation of the program is great, it is difficult to customize the reports you need to produce the data necessary to help manage your volunteers. There are also areas of the site that do not function correctly, or you need to get through multiple screens before you can achieve a simple task, such as entering hours for a volunteer.
To communicate, there is only an outbound model, so if you have an issue - the Galaxy Digital team can call you, yet you can't call them. This makes it impossible to address a problem in real time; you must wait for an email back. Also, when trying to provide feedback on various areas of the software, emails weren't received by the Galaxy team even though we corresponded with the address they provided.
The program should make managing and communicating with volunteers easier, yet it is tedious to navigate and communicate...unless you "pay-to-play"; to have questions answered by other Galaxy Digital users, there are fees to join webinars such as their Open Zoom sessions. I like that Galaxy Digital answers my questions within 24 hours. They do a great job of explaining my issues and how the software works. They also send me customized videos on how to solve my problem so I know how to do it in the future.

I dislike that I cannot customize my reports. There are many pre-built report templates available. However, if I need to have a report created and customized to suit my needs, I have to pay a fee and have a manager create it for me. I would like to be able to freely build and customize filters that will produce the reports I need.
I would also like to customize the Volunteer profile. I would like to create certain internal check or text boxes that will help me organize and filter certain volunteer information which could be used on reports that I can customize myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
