I like that a non-profit I wanted to volunteer with had an online sign up process, provided by Get Connected.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The user experience of Get Connected forms was some of the worst I've experienced on the internet. It was clunky, confusing, hard to use, unclear, and took me 10x longer than filling out an online form should.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a volunteer of a non-profit. Get Connected provides the software that the non-profit uses for volunteer management. As an end-user, I'm disappointed with how bad the Get Connected UI and experience is - it adds so much unnecessary difficulty.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Pretty user friendly for both the admin and volunteer user. I like the automated communication tools such as reminders, etc. You can create a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, including one-time, ongoing, recurring, etc.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Navigation sometimes requires a lot of clicks, especially on the user-end, which can be difficult for less tech-savvy volunteers. The price was steep as an organization that does not have a ton of regular volunteer opportunities, it was hard to justify the cost.

Ability to post volunteer opportunities and have volunteers sign up and manage their own shifts. Sends automated reminders which is helpful.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

What I like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital is how user friendly it is from both the perspectives of the general volunteer user as well as my perspective as a manger on the backend. I am never lost or confused on how to create opportunities, new users, etc. and for anything  I do not understand, the Galaxy Digital is always responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The one thing I would like to better understand with this management portal is how to facilitate specific exports. I know there is a tab somewhere on the site where you can analyze data, but the one time I used it, I was overwhelmed by the amount of reports to be created and did not know if I was creating the desired report.

Get Conected by Galaxy Digital is providing an immense database to track our volunteers throughtout Southern Nevada and the organizations engaging with our team and opportunities.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

99% of what a volunteer management professional needs to effectively run a volunteer program in the 21st century can be hosted by Get Connected by Galaxy Digital. Staff are helpful, clear, and requests are answered promptly. They are open to feedback and willing to incorporate other ideas as it works with their programming.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

It'd be great if there were trainings available for volunteers, as there are for program managers and Site Administrators. Also, pre-made SOPs based off the LMS training would be great. The ability to customize additional documents to be uploaded by Admin and accessible by Volunteers (e.g., beyond the singular Waiver option) would be a game changer. If the site could accommodate non-English speakers and those with visual or light-sensitivity issues, that's increase accessibility and inclusivity.

Digitizing our volunteer management practices creates easier reporting and user data storage. Getting our organization to streamline how we recruit, onboard, and engage volunteers is an elevated best practice.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The site is great for tracking data and contact information for large volunteer database. I've been using it for a few months now and the customer support team has made it a great experience! Always quick with a response and persistent with making sure my question is answered completely.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

There are more features than I need, and the process can become cumbersome. I'm sure navigating the bells and whistles would make me it clearer, but just what our organization does/doesn't use.

The system tracks our volunteer hours, contact info and streamlines the work waivers for events.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Get Connected platforms are very user friendly on the volunteer side of things, and adjusting volunteers to the platform (even those who are not tech savvy) has been relatively easy! I also love the wide range of automatic notifications that you can edit to your liking.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

I dislike that there are not notifications for new applications. However, if you check them regularly, it's not a problem. It is also difficult for volunteers to clock in using the kiosk if they are not signed up for an Opportunity. I would like to be able to have general volunteers be able to clock in, not associated with any particular opportunity.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously had a problem with volunteers not tracking their hours because it was difficult with our last volunteer management platform. It seems to be easier for them on Get Connected, and we are now seeing a lot more volunteers tracking their hours regularly!

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The onboarding process was simple and very easy to complete. The video training was extremely  helpful and was a clear process from start to finish. followed up by stellar customer service. What I really love is the versatility on the program, you can be creative in how you set things up and how you track your data and volunteer database.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

I can honestly say I have not experienced any downside, however I have learned that speaking with software engineers you need to communicate a little different when asking technical questions. Just give more details and examples to describe challenges. Maybe how the home page is setup, couild be more customized layout.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a new volunteer management system and it checked all the boxes for us. We wanted more social media integration and connection with our volunteers. The email reminders and thank you emails, the text option and the app are all great tools we use.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

It does help immensely with hours tracking, we participate in the president's award, so this has saved me many painful hours of tracking hours.

Also being able to adjust the opportunity to include the teacher's name and classroom assignment is amazing. Before I would do this manually but now I can update the opportunity and the volunteers can check before there assigned shift.

I am still new and still learning how to make use of this program to the best of it's abilities. However, there are many small items that truly help me manage and coordinate my volunteers.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

It doesn't work well with the Multi-Day Setting. I think overall there could be some more capabilities for scheduling.
For exp: 
We host summer camps, they can volunteer 1/2 day or full day (5 day commitment Mon-Fri)
At 6 different locations, a total of 37 classrooms
Each class has a 1  full-day spot and a 2 half-day spot

At just one location we had to have 198 Multi-Date opportunities, very hard to manage.  Its doable but I hope we can make improvements in the future for Multi-Date functions. Also so they show up in the Calendar.

I would like an easy roster view for the teacher to be able to see who their volunteers are, you can find it but for teachers, I feel it's not easy to pull up. Especially with so many opportunities to navigate through.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest help currently is hours tracking

The biggest headache scheduling the opportunities in a way that works for my company. We mainly use Multi-date, which is not very good on galaxy digital.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The sales people certainly know how to promote their software. The presentation of the program is great and appears that it will meet your volunteer management needs.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

When you have a skilled IT person who can't work with your software, there's a problem. This is the second time we have tried to utilize Galaxy Digital. While the presentation of the program is great, it is difficult to customize the reports you need to produce the data necessary to help manage your volunteers. There are also areas of the site that do not function correctly, or you need to get through multiple screens before you can achieve a simple task, such as entering hours for a volunteer.

To communicate, there is only an outbound model, so if you have an issue - the Galaxy Digital team can call you, yet you can't call them. This makes it impossible to address a problem in real time; you must wait for an email back. Also, when trying to provide feedback on various areas of the software, emails weren't received by the Galaxy team even though we corresponded with the address they provided. 

The program should make managing and communicating with volunteers easier, yet it is tedious to navigate and communicate...unless you "pay-to-play"; to have questions answered by other Galaxy Digital users, there are fees to join webinars such as their Open Zoom sessions. Good customer service shouldn't come at an additional price.

We had hoped it would solve our volunteer management needs; streamlining volunteer hour entries, communicating with them, etc. This was our goal when trying out the platform twice.

It is giving our community the tool to come together and really help unite the community in new ways.The key feature for us was teh ability to have manay agencies on the sit and managing their own needs.

Always trying to make improvements but it is slow and the service when I have questions or problems is slow and not real reliable, I often go with my questions/problems unsolved more often than them actually get solved.

I like the way customer service sends personalized videos to answer my questions.

It's a little complicated to get to the volunteer check-in kiosk if a volunteer accidentally logs out.

I like that Galaxy Digital answers my questions within 24 hours. They do a great job of explaining my issues and how the software works. They also send me customized videos on how to solve my problem so I know how to do it in the future.
I also like the User Group and Qualification features.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

I dislike that I cannot customize my reports. There are many pre-built report templates available. However, if I need to have a report created and customized to suit my needs, I have to pay a fee and have a manager create it for me. I would like to be able to freely build and customize filters that will produce the reports I need. 

I would also like to customize the Volunteer profile. I would like to create certain internal check or text boxes that will help me organize and filter certain volunteer information which could be used on reports that I can customize myself.

**Recommendations to others considering Get Connected by Galaxy Digital:**

Galaxy Digital is (most of the time) not intuitive, so I recommend emailing Galaxy Digital all questions. They will help you quickly, efficiently, and will teach you in the process.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization is able to better protect our vulnerable clients by ensuring that all volunteers are properly vetted before they serve on campus. We are also able to block volunteers who have certain criminal charges from volunteering in certain departments. We also use shifts to schedule meal services volunteers. Shifts alleviate staff of the the necessary communication and administrative work of scheduling. Volunteers logging their own hours allow us to process important reports.

I liked how easy it was to make changes to project listings, notify volunteers of projects, and pull reports for various metrics. The manager experience was simple and easy to operate.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Would have liked to have been able to customize the site a bit more to match our company branding and style. I would have also liked volunteers to have been able to sign up for a project without having to create an account through Galaxy Digital.

We needed a platform to get 10,000 volunteers signed up for a two-day service project with 50+ project locations across San Diego, CA. Their software streamlined it to showcase our volunteer opportunities and made a simple user experience to find the project that is best for them and their group.

Get Connected saved me an inordinate amount of time (I had a volunteer remove themselves from an opportunity which caused a loss of 250 volunteer hours).  They responded quickly to my request for support and then added those hours back with one click of a button.  I would have otherwise had to enter those hours manually.  Get Connected stayed connected and follow through until the issue was completely resolved.

I have zero complaints about Get Connected.

The support staff are quick to help if I reach out. I really appreciate the personalized videos showing me how to do something. I also love that there is an app!

The downside of Get Connected is that the sign-up process was a little confusing for some of our volunteers. They didn't understand the difference between making an account and choosing shifts. I made some tutorials for them, though, which seemed to solve the problem.

We have a lot of volunteers that work in different departments. Get Connected keeps one database so they can track all their volunteering in one place. Anything we can do to make our volunteers' experience easier and faster is good!

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Having everything in one place on a platform that can also communicate with volunteers is very helpful for keeping volunteers up to date. I also love that whenever we post an opportunity, volunteers get a notification about it, which saves me the step of having to go through our list and draft an email to them. Having the link to the posting in the email notification is also great, since it simplifies the process of responding to it for the folks who struggle with technology.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Many of our volunteers are elderly and find Galaxy Digital confusing. I spend a decent amount of time walking them through it, and had to create instruction sheets for them with pictures. Younger volunteers, though, have not seemed to have any problems. Part of it could be that many of our older volunteers do not have computers, just tablets and smartphones, but some have found more success using the app.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to have a way for all of our locations across the state to be able to use Galaxy Digital for uniformity, but also be able to differentiate our various onboarding requirements. Galaxy Digital came out with the multi-track system which, despite a bumpy road of getting everyone set up on there, will hopefully ultimately help our organization be more streamlined and uniform.

Galaxy Digital has made it possible to get all of our needs met at the tips of our fingertips. Once we post a need the hard work is done, people reach out to us and let us know where and when they can help.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The down-side of Galaxy Digital is when you upgrade to having Tracks on your account, it is not an easy switch over, especially if you already have 700 volunteers signed up,

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Galaxy Digital, our volunteer base was around 100 volunteers. In just three months of using Galaxy Digital, we skyrocketed to 700 volunteers! My Organization has never seen something like it before.  Galaxy Digital, now offering the Get Connected App, has made it easier for our volunteers to access our needs. They don't need a computer and can do it from their phones.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

For our purposes of putting on a large cultural and music festival, we could not ask for a better software.  Here are our favorite functions:

- Teams: we have thousands of shifts needing filled over the course of four days.  Many of our volunteers sign up as teams (with their spouse, with their coworkers, etc.).  This is the only software I've encountered where you can sign up an individual with multiple teams.

- Easy sign-up: our volunteers were able to easily sign up for their shifts

- Easy import: it was very easy to get our data imported from our previous system, and we have a lot of options to import large swaths of new data as needed

- Tiered permissions: there are three types of Users in Get Connected - the User (a shift volunteer; we have approximately 4,000 in our database), the Program Manager (one of our leadership volunteers who leads a specific department and does not need administrative access to the entire database; we have approximately 400 in our database), and a Site manager (has full administrative access to the site; we have approximately 10 in our database).  

- Scheduling: because we have such a large number of volunteers, we need to have all of our schedules in one place.  This is so helpful for our administrative and reception volunteers to be able to look someone up, regardless of their area, and tell them their schedule, as well as walk the user through the process of using their profile

- Database management: both of these functions are extremely smooth and streamlined; I love being able to filter the lists of people down for my specific needs

- Email & text blast: the ability to communicate with our volunteers through these functions is amazing!  We opted to get rid of our newsletter software subscription and use the email blast.  This makes our lives easier because we don't have to upload contacts to the newsletter site and be worried we missed someone.  The text blast is great as well - we use it as a means to communicate to our leadership team for emergencies, but it would be a great tool to text your volunteers to remind them of their upcoming shift.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

This is a hard question - there is very little I dislike!  If anything there are just some small nit-picky things that are not deal breakers:

- Cannot duplicate a custom shift opportunity: to be clear, it is possible to duplicate other types of opportunities; it is only a challenge because we almost exclusively use custom shifts and those cannot be duplicated (for instance, we have four bar opportunities and they are all open at the same time - 4-8pm, 8pm-12am, etc. - but we have to input these shift times four separate times for the four bars).

- Events RSVP: you cannot make events with a specific list of attendees.  Instead, any event will be open for any user to register.  This is not helpful if you have a private event, and you want to track attendees and email them.  You would have to use a third party software (i.e. evite, greenvelope, etc.)

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a one-stop shop for volunteer management.  I have been in volunteer management for eight years (specifically festival and event volunteers), and this is the most smooth, streamlined software I've ever used.

It is a scheduler, it is a database, it is a newsletter writer, it is just amazing!!!  Also the tech support team is so helpful with quick and helpful responses.  They really do their best to understand the problem and offer multiple solutions.  This is a great team.

Before using Get Connected, we managed volunteers with emails, paper sign-ups, and so on. Get Connected has helped us modernize our volunteer work and standardize our volunteer intake processes. There are numerous reports you can pull which makes understanding the volunteer data and reported hours simple and effective. Get Connected has simplified my work and helped ease the burden on staff to place volunteers.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

While I still feel like Get Connected is the best volunteer software for my organization, there are some user-experience design issues that act as barriers to volunteers signing up for some roles. That all being said, I still highly recommend GetConnected since I haven't seen any of their competitors have the same level of functionality.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get Connected has helped ease the staffing burden of having a volunteer program. This makes it so that our volunteer program coordinators can focus on higher-level development and true management of volunteers rather than solely getting volunteers placed. Because of its robust build, GetConnected enables us to manage multiple types of volunteers (scheduled, non-scheduled, groups, etc.).

I like to use it to track the hours. I also appreciate that you can set up agencies that allow volunteers to sort by preference. Allowing volunteers to sign a waiver digitally also saves me a lot of time.

Most of the "automated" functions do not work as I hoped. There are many steps and layers to find the information I need on my volunteers. Also, I don't particularly appreciate how a volunteer has to go through so many steps to sign up for event if they do not have an account. I would prefer them not to create an account to sign up. I lose volunteers before they even sign up for an event because of the lengthy process of registering the account, signing a waiver, and, for minors, waiting for a parent to sign their waiver.

The goal is for the Volunteer Management platform to solve the excessive tracking and spreadsheets that come with volunteer coordination. While it does help me reduce a lot of my workload, there are still specific types of volunteer projects and groups that make using the software difficult.

I like that there are plenty of customization features. I also love how responsive support is to all my emails - they're always quick to respond and very helpful when they do. The help forum is great as well, and while it doesn't answer every question I have it clears up simple questions. I love the spotlight features a lot - they help promote our events.

I wish the notification settings had manual overrides for the terms used. It is a bit difficult to figure out what my notifications are doing when the terms used (need, opportunity, etc) are not the terms my website uses due to customization. There are other small things that I wish could be changed - such as the clickable banner only opening in a new tab - but overall I don't have many complaints. Most of the things I have wondered about/wished were different I have discussed with support.

I would suggest you do your research on what this platform offers, as there are some things we were hoping it would solve for us but that are seemingly more complicated. However, if you are looking to manage volunteers and have a centralized location for users to find your events, this is a great resource for that.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous volunteer system went like this: Someone finds our event on a website (our website or another event/volunteer posting website), and then they would email our volunteer email. We would have to respond with some questions, they would answer, and eventually, we would sign them up using a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone. If we needed to send an email out to everyone signed up for one event, it was done manually. Now, people can sign up very easily and quickly on their own, which takes up a lot less time for our staff. Occasionally we need to message certain people regarding their sign-up (perhaps about their group size or comment) but it is still much less correspondence. The email blasts are also extremely useful, as those manual emails sent out to many people are done often in our organization. It's a great way for people to find all our events at once, and log their hours (which we previously had them do on a separate site). It really combines all our processes into one program, which is helping streamline our time and efforts.

Get Conneted was the only option for me as we have hundreds of volunteers and dozens of needs at multiple locations. This is also reflected in its many reporting options.

It's a one-stop-shop! I can add volunteers, send e-mails AND text messages, set up teams and companies, pull up calendars, check availability, etc. For the most part, there is more than one option to choose from to accomplish a task. I really LOVE options...AND I absolutely LOVE the tech support. They are fantastic! Any challenges I've had learning the software or even looking for specific features, they addressed them specifically, sent me step-by-step instructions, and/or attached a video showing me exactly what I needed to do within the software. They provide user-specific support. Furthermore, they listen to what the Users have to say. If there isn't a feature available that may be of value to multiple organizations, the support staff makes an effort to research it to see if it's conducive for them to add it to the platform, such as the lastest addition which was the Text notifications. We can't wait to set it up here at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank!

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Sometimes it may take me a few extra steps to accomplish a task than I feel it should. I think some pages should have multiple functions available instead of having to come out of a page entirely to go to a completely different tab, then a sub-tab. My other request is to have the option of talking to a live tech support agent instead of having to use email. For the most part, I need some of my questions answered sooner than later and waiting for a few hours or until the next day to receive responses from tech support delays my progress.

The Get Connected software is connected directly to our website. We don't have to train staff in separate databases to register volunteers, manage email blasts, or check the status of posted opportunities. We can change the layout, spotlights, verbiage, etc., at any time without having to get approvals or access a different software. This software allows us, as the administrators, to empower the volunteers to navigate the software as well. We can provide the volunteers with links via email, and they can automatically start familiarizing themselves with our processes and manage their own volunteer accounts.

The Galaxy team are solution seekers and will have many different workarounds, or solutions to each specific obstacle you may come upon. They are so knowledgeable, and are genuine in their attempt to help you!

There are so many different solutions and workarounds and the site has so many capabilities that sometimes you won't know the solution you have been given isn't going to work until you put the work in on the site. Then at that point, you put in unnecessary hours and time toward something, only to learn you will have to undo, redo, or change things accordingly. When being communicated from many different people helping there is more room for gaps in information that you may have conveyed to another person on the team that has been helping you, rather than the one you had to discuss a problem with that day.

The main problems we are solving are better hours tracking, admin support, organizational tools, streamlining our onboarding process, and volunteer engagement.

Upon going over the building of the site, and learning more about the website capabilities we have realized there will be so many more benefits to going with Galaxy Digital. It will help with grant proposals, data collection, retention, volunteer acknowledgments, and partnerships with organizations and teams.

The GetConnected software allowed our Volunteer Center to maneuver quickly with our entire county in COVID-19 Response. The Emergency E-Blast function was crucial for our agencies to manage during the pandemic. It is easy to allow and provide an entire community to have a similar volunteer management system and allows coordination and partnership between agencies to develop. 

Our volunteers have learned how to easily navigate the system and have grown exponentially in the last 2 years. More and more agencies have been signing on with us, which then brings in their volunteers. The more universal the system becomes the better! I also like that as a Site Manager, I am able to be as hands-on (or hands off) with individual agency management. Galaxy provides a plethora of training tools that makes it easy to learn and to onboard new clients.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

I wish it was easier to manage qualifications on an agency level. It does get tiresome of having to update qualifications that fit the needs of specific agencies. For example, if they must complete a training day at a specific agency before they volunteer, it would be great if the agency could mark them as "qualified" instead of myself having to ask the agency if it is okay to verify them. It would just make the qualification process quicker in my opinion. The qualification process is a STRONG selling point for my agencies to ensure that the proper volunteer is filling their need positions. It has been extremely helpful and has provided a ton of additional interest in training for our community volunteers.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to move mass amounts of volunteers quickly to needed projects. When one of our agencies is struggling and needs an extra boost, we are able to fill need positions within 24 hours. It has also answered the "how do I get involved" question for most of our volunteers. Before, many individuals wanted to serve their community but didn't know how to get started. With Galaxy Digital, we are able to be the one-stop-shop for volunteerism in our community. 

The volunteer resumes have also helped with our volunteers who need to record and track their hours. We see the resumes being utilized for award nominations, scholarship applications, National Honor Society service requirements, and in some cases requirements for probationary courts. It is a verified and trusted source on hour reporting. 

Our agencies that utilize our platform have been more confident in volunteer reporting and metric keeping more than ever! They have an easy way to keep their volunteer contacts, hours, and stats ready to export for reporting. They also are able to easily pull timesheets for larger events.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

I like the ease of using the software. But for when I do have a problem,  I think they have some of the best customer service I have ever worked with. Any questions I have are answered quickly and completely. Usually my problem is solved in their first response back. The customer service associates are also extremely friendly and kind and patient if I need to explain a little further or do not always know the correct technical jargon for the issue I am having. I really like the communication tools. It has helped me quite a bit to send out communications to a group of volunteers without having to look up each of their e-mail addresses individually. I also like the overall look of the site. Appearance is important and when a perspective volunteer submits their user registration, this is often their first experience with our organization and our deparmtnet and we want it to be positive, easy to use, and look good. I also appreciate the stats on my dashboard that show a pie chart of our total hours and the main contributors to those hours, as well as the top volunteers for the month based on hours.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Sometimes there are little glitches that can be frustrating. However, they are always fixed by the Galaxy team quickly.  When first starting, it was sometimes difficult to locate certain features because their location was not always self-explanatory, in my opinion. I would search for something in one place where I thought it should be and itwould be listed under in a different place than I would have thought it would be located. I now know where everything is and it was not difficult to get used to at all, but initially it was a little frustrating. I wish there was  a feature that allowed me to print off address labels when sending volunteer cards and invitations. I know we are in the digital age, but we work with many older generation volunteers who appreciate having something physically sent to them.

**Recommendations to others considering Get Connected by Galaxy Digital:**

If you have a large group of volunteers, Galaxy Digital is a great resource for organizing, managing, and tracking volunteers and their data. They have excellent customer service that helps you even after you have already set up your site and answers all questions quickly and completely. I have enjoyed using this software and it is a definite improvement for what is out there in terms of volunteer managing and data tracking systems. The software is easy to use, has a great look both to internal employees as well as volunteers. The reports are easy to create and run and if you have a specific type of report that is not already in the software, you can create it. Overall, a great company and a great platform for all of your volunteer management needs.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to keep track of volunteer schedules, hours, and run reports more easily than we have been able to before. It has freed up time to focus on other work outside of volunteer data tracking. I really like the communication feature. It helps me send out e-mails a lot quicker than using Outlook and pulling up everyone's e-mail addresses individually. This has saved me a great deal of time, especially when sending out time sensitive information. I can get it out quickly and efficiently and can also see how many people have received, opened, or didn't receive the communication.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The sight, though there is a substantial learning curve, is incredibly versatile. We are a very large non-profit. This site allows us to do everything we need, from pulling reports efficiently to logging hours to e-blasting and communicating changes quickly to our volunteers. Additionally, the customer service and Galaxy support are top-tier, incredibly responsive and helpful, and genuinely wonderful to work with. The ability to easily add hours for volunteers, check volunteers in, rapidly add and update volunteer opportunities to keep things current and active has been incredinly helpful as well. This site was key to our organization's ability to thrive and continue during the immensely difficult and turbulent times of COVID-19 as well.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Sometimes, it can take several steps to do what might otherwise be done in a single step, which can be annoying or frustrating if you're in a rush. Additionally, the learning curve is substantial. To do some more advanced features (like logging in a large group's hours after the date of volunteering), it can take some nuance and navigation to accomplish.

**Recommendations to others considering Get Connected by Galaxy Digital:**

Definitely talk to their support staff and other folks who use it - it's incredibly versatile and practical to use. :)

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems we are solving using Get Connected include unifying our multiple volunteer resource centers and sites with the system - we have numerous locations and hundreds upon hundreds of volunteers, so having all of our resource centers utilize the same volunteer database is incredibly helpful. Additionally, this site allows us to update and expand volunteer needs and shifts rapidly - and it has been an absolute gift to have during a pandemic as things changed so rapidly.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

I love that we are able to track volunteer hours easily and the dashboard shows us exactly how many hours we've accumulated over the month and who our top volunteers are. It's easy to post opportunities and email everyone from the Get Connected software. The support team is very quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

It can be a bit challenging to get volunteers to respond to an opportunity properly if they're new to the system. We've had a bunch of volunteers create a login and they thought that meant that they had registered for an opportunity but they didn't actually hit respond after signing up. 

It's difficult to set up an opportunity that requires an interview before the person is accepted for the role.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time and makes it much easier to track opportunity registrations and volunteer hours. Previously we used a lot of spreadsheets and it was challenging to connect the information between them all. Now we can clearly see who our top volunteers are and what they've been involved in. It's so nice to have all the information in one place and see the growth of our volunteers.

Since the pandemic, we've had to limit the number of people who attend our events and the software has been great for setting those limits and adding a waitlist for interested volunteers. That's something we couldn't do at all before having this software.

We love the ease of use of Get Connected and how robust this platform is.

We haven't found any major downsides. So far, every time we encounter difficulty bringing our vision to life, customer support is there to work their magic and get us sorted out. We love using Get Connected.

We use Get Connected to host our VolunteerSLO.org website. It allows community agencies with volunteer opportunities to connect with community members who are looking to volunteer. Get Connected allows us to manage more than 300 community organizations and more than 5,000 registered users with ease.

Galaxy Digital has an excellent volunteer user interface and allows site managers to easily customize and add content to their site. Volunteers appreciate the ease of finding a variety of volunteer opportunities in their area in one place.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

The only thing missing from Galaxy Digital is the use of the software for volunteer management. Examples include keeping track of necessary documents related to on-boarding and annual volunteer training. However, if the software is used the way it was designed, there is great success.

**Recommendations to others considering Get Connected by Galaxy Digital:**

The product requires someone to dedicate time to manage the site. If you allow the site to just sit there, you will not see results. If you manage the site, keep track of updates, manage and reach out to your agencies and volunteers by using all the functions available, you will be successful. 

Additionally, because we were already used and understood many of the functions of the website, the community response to COVID-19 and mobilization of volunteers was extremely easy and smooth considering the circumstances. Do not wait for a disaster to learn how to use the software.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to pull a variety of reports for data tracking is extremely beneficial to demonstrate the overall impact from a variety of different perspectives with this software. Many smaller grassroots non -profits could easily benefit from the use of data tracking. Having agencies capture/record their volunteer hours through Galaxy Digital software is a problem we would like to solve.

Scheduling features, qualifications, eBlasts, shifts, check-in/kiosk, automatic notifications, customization and look/feel of website, customer service that helps with brainstorming/finding solutions, the company's responsiveness/adaptability to feedback, Teams/group volunteering featuers, and features for grouping together volunteer opportunities (making it easier to run dynamic reporting, share certain types of opportunities with new volunteers, etc)

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Not user friendly for older users/non tech; some features that we sought out DO exist, but not necessarily in the way we needed them to work; some reporting/filters seem counter intuitive to working with the population system was built for (ex: very difficult to narrow down active, current volunteers based on how recently they "worked" or submitted hours); does require a LOT of training for both staff and volunteers

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very fast mobilization of volunteers; better attendance to shifts, in many cases because of reminder emails; able to quickly request help for urgent needs;  able to quickly communicate with, celebrate, and communicate changes with volunteers.  All of these lead to responding to emergencies more quickly and improved volunteer recognition and retention.

**What do you like best about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Galaxy Digital is a great platform for organizing and managing volunteer data. It allows you to upload documents, gather your volunteer's availability, showcase various volunteer positions, and keep track of volunteer hours. The platform also allows for mass emailing, creating user groups to help share specific information with specific volunteers, a place to create surveys and share events, and to easily see your daily list of volunteers. The platform also allows you to separate your opportunities by area of interest or platform that they support. Finally, the Galaxy Digital support team is incredible. They typically respond within a few hours with an individualized answer to your question  - often including a step-by-step guide or a video to show you how to solve your issue.

**What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital?**

Throughout the last couple of years, Galaxy has made improvements to their system that have helped make the process of expanding opportunities and outreach easier, however, there are still areas where we have found it to be insufficient for all of our needs. Although volunteers designate their age, there isn't a way to block opportunities to minors without creating a qualification that would need to be manually approved for each volunteer and/or may not apply if the minor is accompanied by an adult. We've also wanted to flag certain information about a volunteer for all coordinators to see (if special accommodations need to be made, if something concerning arises, if they are a board member, etc..) - there are some workarounds, but nothing that makes these notes stand out and easily seen. We've also heard concerns from some of our volunteers about the platform not being intuitive for signing up and that it feels like extra work to go back and log their hours - this platform relies heavily on volunteers inputting information, which frees up staff to focus on other efforts but does take some adjusting for volunteers.

**Recommendations to others considering Get Connected by Galaxy Digital:**

I highly recommend contacting other users to understand the platform. It has many functions that may not be intuitive in the beginning, but can easily be learned and applied to make the site work well for you, your organization, and your volunteers.

**What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy Digital helps us keep track of our monthly hours and other reporting efforts that are necessary for the government and private grants that we receive to keep our organization going. It also allows us to widely share information about up-coming events, updates that apply to all or select volunteers, and track our open-rate for email communication. The platform also helps us highlight urgent opportunities, which in turn helps our programs that need the most support find that support.
