"Gold Standard of Telematics"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Geotab?

The safety overview, HOS overview, and sustainability overview will make this product superior to Samsara without question. They have delivered on about half of the new UI stuff and it looks good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Geotab?

Previous Response: A little complicated to teach people. Tier-1 support is script-based; you’ll need an in-house engineer or a VAR to get actual troubleshooting Geotab has a history of making changes to the product that literally not a single soul asked for. The new maintenance section is also very imposing... they have to fix it. Make it less complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Fleet Insights and APIs, but MyGeotab Has a Steep Learning Curve"
3/5
What do you like best about Geotab?

Data you can actually use – Geotab doesn’t just collect vehicle data; it turns it into actionable insights that fleets can apply to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Open, scalable platform – Its open ecosystem and strong APIs make it straightforward to integrate with other systems and tailor solutions across different industries and fleet sizes.

Engineering-driven culture – There’s a clear emphasis on accuracy, validation, and continuous improvement, which helps build trust in both the data and the product.

Purpose beyond profit – The focus on road safety, emissions reduction, and smarter mobility suggests the company is aiming for long-term impact, not only short-term results.

Global reach with local relevance – Geotab operates at a global scale while still supporting region-specific regulations, use cases, and partners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Geotab?

Platform complexity – MyGeotab is very powerful, but that depth can feel overwhelming for new users. There’s a steep learning curve before fleets can fully unlock the value of the data.

User experience consistency – Some workflows and reports feel less intuitive than they could be, particularly when compared with newer, more UI‑focused SaaS products.

Customization can require expertise – While the open platform is a real strength, getting the best results often takes technical knowledge, partner involvement, or hands‑on configuration effort that smaller teams may struggle to support.

Hardware lead times / logistics – At scale, device availability, installation scheduling, and vehicle downtime can sometimes become friction points.

Reporting fragmentation – With so many reports and add‑ins available, it can take time to establish a “single source of truth” for certain KPIs without strong governance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Fleet Monitoring with Some Log Challenges"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Geotab?

I use Geotab for fleet management, and I like how it helps us monitor our fleet, including services, activities, and the location of our vehicles. The service prompt feature is particularly valuable because it tells us what work is required, helping our fleet team diagnose equipment problems, like engine failures and oil checks, when they're down. Additionally, I found the initial setup of Geotab easy, which is a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Geotab?

Driver logs are tricky, and I feel there should be more visibility and better integration for vehicle logs, including pairing with driver apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Safety Alerts in a Compact System, with Occasional Info Delays"
3/5
What do you like best about Geotab?

It’s a very good system. The alerts help keep you safe during your trip, the interface is very intuitive, and the devices are quite small, so you can connect them easily and keep them hidden. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Geotab?

I see very few negative points overall. Occasionally there’s a delay in the information, but nothing more serious than needing to check the wiring to make sure everything is in order. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
