What do you like best about GeoMedia?

What do you dislike about GeoMedia?

When I am working with big files, I can see how the software gets a bit slower or closes, so for me that is one of its disadvantages.

There is not enough documentations out there if I want to learn how to make better queries or more advanced ones, or information in general it is a software unknown to most people, and there is not enough resources online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I worked with GeoMedia for several years ago, it's a user-friendly software with full fill capabilities and tools to deal with vector and raster data. It also accet other data sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoMedia?

What do you like best about GeoMedia?

The digitization process is really intuitive, and faster than other GIS softwares, because I can edit several layers at the same time just by choosing them, this feature really saves time when I am working with big datasets.

The power of his queries is limitless, it allows me to create dynamic spatial relationships between vector datasets, and make edits based on those results.

The dynamic labels are other of my favorite features, because it helps me to make decisions when creating geometric entities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoMedia?

When I am working with big files, I can see how the software gets a bit slower or closes, so for me that is one of its disadvantages.

Recommendations to others considering GeoMedia:

I recommend it 100%, it is really ease to use.

I have co-workers that have not knowledge of GIS prior to using this software, and they were able to learn it at a fast speed.

And of all the software in the market it is my favorite when I have to digitize, edit, update, supervise vector data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GeoMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?

The nature of dynamic queries is awesome, because it helps me to create vector relationships, to edit according with the results of those queries.

It is useful when we need to fix topology errors.

As someone that have to supervise datasets make by other people, the features that this software has to check the attribute tables for errors is massive.

Other of the things I found really helpful is that I can create automatic process to fill fields, updating information, making calculations, with the hability of SQL it gives me a lot of tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GeoMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was using geomedia to map out tourism pressure in Barcelona, I could do better analysis on geomedia then while using ArcGIS but it was not as easy to learn and I required help from my coworkers in order to complete the analysis that I wanted to do. The User interface needs an upgrade to bring the program into the current. If the UI was better then it could compete more with other GIS softwares that are more popular Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fastest Orthophoto Tool"

What do you like best about GeoMedia?

We are using Geomedia and OrthoPro for Orthophoto generation. The best advantage of Geomedia among other software is fast seamline generation. And also the option to edit seamlines in a GIS environment. This gives us the ability to create best looking orthophotos. We can compare GIS data with images and decide the features of final orthophoto. We can import other data sources and also export each and every intermediate data produced to use on different workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoMedia?

While using Geomedia, we are unable to impert GeoTIFF DEM models. Instead we are using LAS or DTM files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering GeoMedia:

If you are looking for a complete GIS solution which also can be enhanced with add-ons to produce Orthophoto, GeoMedia is your only option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GeoMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?

Seamline editing is a vital process for ortho production and Geomedia provides us great tools and GIS capability while editing seamlines. In the past we were using CAD software for seamline editing but now with Geomedia our process speed is much higher that before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
