"GeoHECHMS takes the guess work out of project area being analyzed"
5/5
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

The visual platform used for analysis makes the process much faster to complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

In my experience with GeoHECHMS, I could use a popup screen asking whether to create a new scenario. I often modify data meant for a separate scenario and forget to create a new scenario Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GeoHMS is easy to learn and is extremely useful in processing data and calculating values."
4/5
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

Data processing - having the ability to integrate multiple data sets into the model.

Graphical interface allows for ease of implementation of watersheds and routing elements.

Good help resources for hydrologic and hydraulic elements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

Development of fractional PMP rainfall distributions was not intuitive.

Better watershed maps would be helpful in the reporting output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"great features added and report enhancement"
4/5
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

1) basin delineation and automatic computation for basin parameters are very helpful

2) report generation is a very nice feature to have Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

1) the missing geometry folder structure as HECHMS model has, which layouts the Basin model name (you can rename it) and all components shown in Table of content structure. Your model took off that features and there is no expansion under HECHMS folder besides property changes.

2) when you set up the simulation to select Basin model file, it is so hard to find out what is the name of your current basin model name. this is very annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Worth every penny!"
5/5
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

GeoHEC-HMS is easily the most thoughtfully-designed, user-friendly, and time-saving hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design tool in the engineering industry right now! I have worked as a hydrology engineer for 2+ years and nothing quite like it exists on the market. And, even better, the customer service team at CivilGEO provides on-demand, project-specific support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is unheard of in this industry. The software is practically flawless, but if you do ever encounter any issues, the CivilGEO team is immediately responsive and will go above and beyond to assist you with a project. 10/10 product. 10/10 service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

I truly have no grievances or issues with any feature of the GeoHEC-HMS software or the customer service team. This is some thoughtful, industry-leading work that deserves all the praise in the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Huge Time Saver"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

Automation of watershed delineation, watershed hydrologic properties, composite curve number calculation, and time of concentration calculations makes producing HEC-HMS models much quicker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

The program is prone to crashes. This is an annoying problem, but the program has an autosave feature that is helpful in these situations. It would also be nice if the program could extract reach parameters such as side slope and width from the elevation model and automatically add those properties to their corresponding reaches in the HEC model. "Extremely user friendly"
5/5
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

I like how the software is intuitive. After watching the beginner video, I thought the program is very navigation friendly for fist time users like myself. The ribbons are laid out in a left-to-right fashion to aid in building the model naturally. You can "jump around" on the ribbon, but using the layout acts as a built-in checklist. I also like how the software "talks" to other programs like AutoCAD and GIS. You can seamlessly build the watershed and extract the watershed and other shapefiles and plug them into a GIS figure or import them into AutoCAD. The editing feature for the watershed is also game-changing. I don't have to boot up AutoCAD and delineate based on contours; the program can auto-generate watersheds based on LiDAR data. If the program does build a watershed(s) you disagree with, you can quickly edit the generated watersheds or merge smaller ones into larger ones without having to start over. Lastly, the reports page is very user-friendly, and this program can also generate reports for project documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

I am still learning the program and haven't encountered too many errors. Sometimes there are little things you forget to toggle on or off, and you have to spend some time to work out what the error is. Sometimes it's simple as you are missing a junction or weather data; other times, you have multiple versions and an older one selected on a new project or open a previous project that used an older engine, and the program defaults to the latest version and can no longer run the model.
