## Gem Reviews
  ### 1. One of the best options for sourcers & recruiters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is easily one of the most full-featured, well-integrated, and modern sourcing & recruiting tools for automated outreach campaigns and for tracking & managing prospects and their statuses throughout active pipelines or through historic performance throughout time in interviews. The prospect search functionality is particularly useful as, following the order of operations for most ROI in prospecting means identifying already known quantities which you're able to do very effectively within the platform.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

My two meaningful complaints about Gem are the lack of context within the sidebar popup (a lot of other tools don't require you to click out into multiple screens or pages to find candidate info or profiles) and I'd say they're juuuust slightly behind the modern capabilities of some other tools in the market, but that's more of a wishlist piece rather than a major knock on the product as it has basically everything you need to be highly efficient as a sourcer.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem allows for outreach automation which is a common thing as far as tools go, but it is a very clean, intuitive, and full-featured product that lets you all-in-one both sourcing functionality, candidate pipeline/stage tracking, and reporting capabilities and it integrates very well with Greenhouse which is the ATS we're currently utilizing.

  ### 2. Gem Recommendation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Franchesca L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The Sequence and the whole database itself.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I guess more filters for prospect search

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By having an automated email to follow up with candidates

  ### 3. Senior Technical Sourcer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The ability to create sequences and keep track of interested and not interested candidate. Also, the ability to monitor interest rate from candidates. Loving the new AI sequence generator!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The search feature is not the most straightforward. Whether performing specific searches within sequences or projects or typing in a Boolean search it is not an ideal search for a busy Recruiter/Sourcer with limited time.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The AI Sequence Generator feature is an incredible time saver! Gem allows me to search through my own database of candidates (don't love the search features) but it does allow me to go back and track candidates from previous sequences/projects. It also allows me to see re-engage and nurture candidates that have not been contacted in a while and may have interest in a new role.

  ### 4. Best visual pipeline

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is far and away my preferred tool for managing pipelines with 1 or 2 recruiters and multiple stages (in my organization, usually tech roles). The clean layout is really organized

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I find Gem less helpful for roles with multiple collaborators. It's harder to zoom in on big top of funnel talent pools without clearer ownership visuals

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization had a trial run with the dashboard and it was FABULOUS. real time reporting without messy ATS lags!

  ### 5. The best way to Source Talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon B. | IT HeadHunter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

One of the main things I love about Gem is the easy to use that it is, besides that the amount of features that it has makes your job more easy, you can keep track of candidate perform email campaign and even thou it helps you to find the email address of the candidates.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Well sometimes the email addresses that you get aren't 100% accurate

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to save time performing email campaigns with different touch points depending of the response from the candidate and helps you to find the email address of each candidates,

  ### 6. Gem has helped improved many processes in the org!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniela . | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love how intuitive Gem is! It helps me better track my candidates, from the application review to the offer stage. I absolutely love the app reviewing tool and the dashboard section.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I can't think of many. I'd say having to upload candidates from my LinkedIn projects is a bit too manual, but maybe I don't know the best practice here. Besides from that, Gem provides great value.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Application Review is more effective and faster especially for volume hiring
- Dashboards give a clearer picture of the state of the pipeline + important metrics to hiring managers and other stakeholders.

  ### 7. Head of Recruiting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Becky C. | Sr. Manager, Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The data/analytics/reporting is very easy to use, and provides terrific information on our pipelines that we can easily share with HMs and love the sourcing, email scraping!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Not sure how accurate the DEI metrics are - but love that the effort is there to include this information, helpful directionally for sure

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data! Sourcing! It allows us to be more strategic and insightful, providing better insights for our hiring managers and teams, so our Recruiters can be better advisors to their teams and our leadership has more information on our results. Effective method for outreach as well.

  ### 8. Third company that I am using Gem at!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott K. | Recruiting Manager / Lead Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love drip campaigns and A/B testing - it's super easy to do customized drips through Gem

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish there was a way to filter out work-email addresses when they come through. I don't want to see them.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Candidate engagement is what I'm looking for. Finding out who is opening my emails, who is clicking on links, etc.

  ### 9. Gem makes my life so much easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Auriel O. | Technical Talent Sourcer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem helps my team streamline our recruitment and sourcing processes. It provides a variety of features to help our recruiters manage their talent pipelines, track candidate interactions, and automate communication.

Gem is really easy to use and has a user-friendly interface. I appreciate how easy it is to track candidates and manage communication with them, especially through email automation.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes it is hard to find emails of candidates who live out of the United States.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem allows my team to source candidates and easily add them to our CRM. It also allows us to automate follow up responses and see a higher response rate by doing so.

  ### 10. Gem is a perfect tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleksandra A. | Technical Sourcer/Recruiter , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is a straightforward and helpful tool for me as a Recruiter. I may see all my actions, messages, and statistics and improve my day-to-day work in sourcing talents and recruiting in general.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I can't find cons, honestly. Sometimes I want to see fewer widgets working on Linkedin, but it's not a big deal. I guess you may improve visual part of your service.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem helps me to send a lot of messages to candidates, and also helps me to see the history and collect data of my pul of candidates. Gem helps me spend less time working on Linkedin.

  ### 11. GEM Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I really like the integration between GEM - LI - GH. The data is very easily accessible and comes easily digestible.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

TBH I haven't found anything that I've come across that I haven't liked.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping to streamline our interview process by providing clear progression steps with each candidate.

  ### 12. I love Gem!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

My team now use Gem as a central hub for all recruiting activity which makes us all so much more efficient. And the Chrome extension is fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish Gem also had the ability to search the web for candidates.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of my recruiting activity in one place that pulls data from our ATS, LinkedIn and Gem sourcing activity. It makes it easy to collaborate on searches across multiple recruiters.

  ### 13. Can't live without Gem!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Umiri K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love that it saves so much time in our workflows. It helps our team keep our information accurate and helps us keep track of past and future data. I can't imagine myself without Gem

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Not much. Sometimes it scrapes the wrong emails from candidates, but most email scraping platforms mess up here and there, so it's not a big deal or a huge surprise.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us keep track of data for "one source of truth" in our team. It also just saves us a ton of time by plugging itself in our workflows. I would say our business performance has increased.

  ### 14. Gem Makes it Easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake K. | Technical Recruiter , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Really enjoy how customizable Sequences are (LI, EM, Connection Request, Multi stage, etc). Ability to search candidate pool via prospect search. Organizing candidates within Projects. Automating Reports to be delivered recurring. Detailed Outreach Stats!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

No known way to search for keywords in any notes added to candidate profiles. Pretty limited functionality with Dashboards and how and what type of data you can interact with.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem provides the opportunity to capture the attention of potential candidates by creating multi-stage sequences, offering detailed insights into what content on the emails they are interacting with, and how effective a messaging outreach campaign was to iterate and improve.

  ### 15. Gem is a MUST

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Agnaldo J. | TEch Sourcer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem extension, data visualization, and metrics. I like to track how diverse my sourcing efforts are being, and if the content I share with candidates through links is useful. Also love the prospect search, better tool in the market to explore past candidates

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Gem is really an awesome tool. I understand there are blockers with this integration, but if you guys can manage to integrate LinkedIn recruiter better into Gem, like allowing to automatically track inmail responses or to send inmails as part of sequences automatically it would be really cool.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem solves the problem with the more manual tasks allowing us to spend time on what really matters. I believe there are always cool updates like the prospect search seems to be getting better and better.

  ### 16. Makes sourcing and reporting so easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Pretty intuitive and user friendly. Multi-functional. Easy to treach hiring managers how to use it.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes reporting and dashboard functions have so many features its hard to find the one I want

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily sharing information with stakeholders. Keeping everyone in the know. Automating messaging and process for candidates. Setting goals and tracking them.

  ### 17. Empowering recruiters with data to leverage executive conversations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa H. | Sr. Technical Recruiter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The mertics that can help you understand the engagement of candidates and if they are recieving the message.
Templates are awesome & ability to email, inmail, and add.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

adding their work email - I do like messaging their work email so giving it a different color or helping us quickly identify this might be a work or school email.

Offering some type of video onboarding guide to get started. Its a lot to take it to really optimize all the features successfully. Right when you get a login maybe there is a video that is sent to your email to get ramped up right away.

Also, recording outreach via inmail in gem would be super helpful if you cannot find an email. I want this to show in the data

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to contact strong candidates.
Sending emails on behalf of HM
Great metircs to show outreach numbers

  ### 18. Absolutely life-changing for sourcing recruiters!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah T. | Technical Sourcing Recruiter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The automated follow-up feature (I get so many more responses on sequence 2 or 3 than I could have ever realized!). I love how easy it is to track my metrics (reach outs, interereted %age), adding candidates to Project tags is extremely useful (I find once 50,000+ candidates are in any given project, they start to slow things down).
The integration between LinkedIn and Greenhouse makes duplicate checking candidates SO MUCH more straightforward than I've ever had in my workflow. At a previous employer, I manually checked for candidates based on any unique identifier I could find in FOUR different systems. I tell my manager all the time that Gem is a game-changer.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes I find some inaccuracies in the "activity" tab. It will show that no one from my company has reached out, but if I open the candidate profile on Greenhouse, about 10% of the time, there will be recent activity (outreach sent via LinkedIn or another platform), that is not reflected in the Gem expansion on LinkedIn. 10% isn't huge - but because of this, I have to double-check every candidate in Greenhouse, to ensure they are not currently engaged by another recruiter.
Another small thing - when I have a candidate schedule a recruiter call based on my reach out, if they are not in our Greenhouse ATS, it can be very difficult to find them in Gem. I've had to search manually through multiple sequences before - eventually finding the candidate (but for some reason, they wouldn't be found by searching them on the top left Search Bar of the main page).

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating follow-ups - benefits me by allowing me to not worry about sending them, and often I get interested after the first message (higher candidate interest rate overall)
Outreach stats - allows me to ensure I'm keeping up with my metrics, reaching out to enough under-represented talent (and comparing interest rates amongst them); also helpful to compare different Sequences against each other to determine which garners a higher response rate. Allows us to make real-time data-driven decisions to help influence and inform our recruitment strategy.

  ### 19. Intuitive, efficient, time-saving sourcing tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mags B. | Senior Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem's helped me save time by automating messages, identifying responses, and appropriate follow-ups. It's easy to collaborate on projects with others on the team and I appreciate how intuitive it is with legacy prospects.
The analytics function has also been beneficial to understand conversions, tracking toward goals, and A/B testing when I'm still early in my sourcing strategy. I appreciate the Chrome extension as I can easily send 1 off messages without being in the Gem platform. It also allows me to customize messages which is easily done while working off of the Chrome extension.
It integrates well with Greenhouse and I haven't experienced any major bug/outage issues.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish it would automatically sync with LinkedIn's career history and not show previous work emails of employment that are in the past. This is something I manually "remove".

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engaging with passive candidates while sourcing. Candidates respond more eagerly to hiring manager emails versus LI messages or emails from me. When sending on behalf of- I'm still able to see replies and have full visibility to take action and elevate any additional work on the hiring leaders I support.
Also appreciate it's analytics function and giving me detailed overviews on reach-out stats by project/sequence/ or time (week/ month etc).

  ### 20. Stay Away From This Product At All Costs

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Digital Talent Sourcer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Very good text campaigns and good interface, It was a strong product in 2021 before the layoffs and financial difficulties

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Customer Support doesnt understand the product
No relationship with Account management
Less than 5% of accurate emails on the platform
Limited search features
Resume search feature does not work
No relationship with Account management
No live support

Competitors charge 10% of what Gems does and offer 100's more features. They appear to have gone through financial difficulties and have had no significant product updates in over a year

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gems were meant to help us find personal email addresses for candidates, but it only had 5% accuracy

It was meant to help us with outbound marketing emails, but it has a high bounce rate

  ### 21. My go to CRM for candidates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandi B. | Senior Manager, Talent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love the flexibility around sending on people's behalf. The metrics are also pretty solid, I like that I can see if prospects are opening emails or clicking on links. It helps us know who might be worth reaching out to again after some time.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It is a regular occasion that emails are inaccurate. I can be a time suck looking through prospect's info to try to find the best email.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me a chance to reach out to candidates in new and novel ways. Often candidates respond on the 2nd or the 3rd attempt. I can also set it and forget it drip campaigns.

  ### 22. Using GEM as a Recruiting Manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

It's user friendly and provides relevant data for hiring and recruiting. Whether it be internally for the team or for our stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Nothing comes to mind. It's one of the better tools I've used

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The automations and follow-ups with candidates, saves us time

  ### 23. Great product and user experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The ease and accessibility it provides when looking at past profiles. It is easy to use and great for our team to collaborate - we are already seeing such a positive impact of using with linkedin inmails.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

At this point, not much. As we continue to grow as a business, it may feel overwhelming to keep on top of tags for candidates/ projects. So understanding how we can best utilise this will be helpful.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us as a team to see our diversity stats, which is helping us continue to push and reach out to more of what we need. It helps us know what messages/ methods are working and not, helping us move forward positively.

  ### 24. Great for nurturing talent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hana F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Integrated with sourcing tools like LinkedIn and able to organize by projects.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

InMail sequences are manual and are cumbersome to complete.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating outreach and helping us reach out to more candidates in a streamlined and organized way.

  ### 25. Great way to stay engaged and manage prospects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Sequences are easy to develop and implement allowing for faster prospecting and improved reach outs!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Reports can be challenging to setup but once the mods are adjusted the data is crucial.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The widgets do not always notify if a candidate is already in the ATS or in another project until after adding to the scratchpad.

  ### 26. Gem is awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem makes building projects and tracking candidates much easier than just LinkedIn alone. It's made my life so much easier.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Some times profile management gets a little wonky and emails aren't always the most reliable.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easier to keep track of candidates as well as create messaging campaigns.

  ### 27. I have already referred Gem to past colleagues.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I really like all the systems integrations. I also like the follow up email/squence feature. It integrates really well with Greenhouse and I am able to see who my coworkers have already reached out to in Gem or viewed in LinkedIn. Very helpful in sourcing and much easier to keep track of than messaging people separately through LinkedIn Inmail. Also, the reporting feature is very simple and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Creating the sequence can be a little tedious. Luckily I can usually copy a coworkers sequence. I wish there was a way to message people both through email and Inmail. Additionally, I'm not sure I have figured out how to set up my inmail so that I can get responses or notifications within Gem.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I dont know. I havent used Gem long enough to see any changes that have been made.

  ### 28. Essential for any TA tool stack

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom C. | Head of Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

We've been using Gem for a few months and it is a fantastic addition to our TA tooling and one I would now look to implement all the time! Amazing set of sourcing tools, email nurture campaigns, background profile refresh, the list of features is amazing, plus an outstanding analytics package that really lets you see what's going on in your TA funnel.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

No real negatives, it takes time to get the platform really set up and customised but worth going through the effort

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An essential tool for any TA tool stack, really can save time and make processes/workflows more efficient

  ### 29. Best sourcing tool I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd C. | Senior Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The ability to create drip campaigns (which Gem calls "sequences") that include both email and InMail outreach is a game-changer. You have to manually send InMail but worth the effort and Gem gives you an easy mechanism to copy-and-paste the required Subject and Body into your InMail. The reporting capabilities of Gem are also excellent which is a rarity in recruiting tools (either for sourcing or full ATS systems). In fact, I use Gem to report on my Greenhouse activities more than I use Greenhouse's built-in reporting system.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The interface to Gem is pretty basic. Personally, I really like this. It makes it really simple to use Gem and the interface doesn't get in my way. I do think it may increase the learning curve a bit since you have to learn where to find things at first. Also, it should be clearer that the ideal way to use Gem is to immediately associate every Sequence with a Project. Project's can be configured to have default sequences for Email and InMails (typically for people where you do not have an email address). I wish that I could provide my own names for custom placeholder's in Sequences.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Start by creating a Sequence for InMails and another for InMail messages. Create a Project and make these sequences the default for that project. End your Email sequence with a final message sent by InMail. Sounds odd, but this acts as a failsafe in case your email address is incorrect and not being received by the intended prospect. You're pretty much guaranteed that your last InMail will get to the right person.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An awesome tool for drip campaigns for sourcing/attracting top talent. Very easy to personalize your messages and the inclusion of both Email, InMail, and even both within a single sequence is truly unique.

  ### 30. The best tool to build talent pipelines

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen C. | Recruiting Manager, Engineering (US), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love how easy it is to import candidates from LinkedIn and the ability to create custom fields in order to help organize the different types of candidates we are targeting. I also love the GH integration and reporting functionality :)

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I would love to see how Gem would be able to have the ability to grab more insights about the talent market, being able to pull info from LinkedIn to better illustrate the total amount of prospective candidates in a specific field or geography.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is helping our company stay organized in regards to our pipelines and allowing us to create more meaningful touchpoints driven by timed sequences and the ability to input custom tokens into our messages.

  ### 31. Great experience using Gem for contacting candidates.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David H. | Global Talent Engagement, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

What I like the most is that I can create reports and measure the response rate based on the messages we send. This way, we can make adequate and engaging messages, increasing our open and reply rates.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Not something 100% related to Gem, but we have a different ATS at the company I work for, and the integration has been a bit difficult. Gladly, everything is moving with no problems.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes we cannot get enough people to join our hiring process, making it more challenging to find the right candidate. Thanks to the automated feature of the sequence, our response rate is highly efficient.

**Official Response from Zoey Ren:**

> Hi David, thank you for leaving us a good review. We are happy to learn that Gem is able to help you attract and engage more candidates with the right messaging backed by data. Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback. Have a great holiday :)

  ### 32. Gem has always been helpful in reaching out potential candidates fit to work for my company.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres A. | Recruitment Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Gem?**

It's best not to change the interface quite often.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Some of the keys might be hidden somewhere, so it is better to keen.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does most of the tasks that I was doing for quite some time.

  ### 33. Data made easier to digest by using Gem!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe R. | Talent Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Very user friendly in terms of setup, sharing with team members/stakeholders and excellent visuals that highlight the most critical insights from the ATS. Their customer support team is also great to work with and always goes above and beyond to help when there are questions!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

No immediate chat feature. Unlike our ATS which has a team dedicated to handling questions in real-time, Gem's support staff often takes a few hours to respond- which isn't a huge issue, but in the instance of sudden-urgent needs, it is a watch-out.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Understand the reporting capabilities and limitations of your ATS and sourcing technologies prior to engaging. Depending on the depth and visual feel of what you are currently using, Gem may be somewhat redundant.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is helping us solve the issue of identifying what real-time blockers are preventing our team (and business) from hiring at the fastest possible speed. Gem's Talent Compass allows our Talent team to locate and target areas of improvement and develop strategies to increase overall hiring speed.

  ### 34. Almost perfect

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan U. | Lead Technical Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The drip campaign and outreach statistics provided by Gem are truly unmatched when it comes to recruiting tools. Gem's interface is incredibly intuitive which makes it incredibly easy to pick up. I can't imagine recruiting without Gem.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

A lot of contact info is missing, or more frustrating, sometimes email addresses will pop up for a split second and then disappear. Other tools like HireEZ and Contact Out offer more accurate contact info and have it for almost everyone. If Gem were to get their hands on HireEz's contact retrieval algorithm/software, it would be at the top of the mountain by a long shot.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem automates follow-ups without taking the personal touch out of the equation. On top of that, they offer statistics on our outreach campaigns in real-time which is incredible because we are able to quickly identify what strategies are working, and which ones are not.

  ### 35. Best tool I've ever used in recruiting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon K. | Senior Tech Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Provides direct contact info for candidates you can't find elsewhere
Seamless ATS integration
Automates manual outreach follow ups
Stellar reporting on outreach + pipeline metrics

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

- Once in a while the primary email address for a candidate may be an old, disabled, or work email instead of personal

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to reach candidates in a more direct and consistent way
Overall very seamless tool for comms w/ candidates

  ### 36. Best tool for a recruiter

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer R. | Senior Business Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem makes it easy to engage potential candidates with customized email campaigns, it has helped me to hire many people with its customizable messaging!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Would like a more visible notes feature to keep track of candidate status

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me engage talent that would not respond to LinkedIn messages

  ### 37. A time-saver and absolute GEM of a product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steph S. | Senior Talent Sourcer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem's seamless integrations with LinkedIn Recruiter & Lever create so much efficiency and timesaving in my day as talent sourcer. The ability to automate messages, have reminders sent directly to your inbox and pull insights quickly within dashboards is truly amazing!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish Gem could auto-send LinkedIn InMails similar to how it does with emails however I know they are working with LinkedIn on this!

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating messages to hundreds of candidates on a weekly basis saving me time. Integrating to our ATS so that candidate ownership is clearly defined.

  ### 38. technical sourcer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

being able to easily upload candidates into GH, the premium email adding feature, and how easily it is to adjust a candidates email address if the initial email bounces back.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

the lag loading time for people's email addresses from the gmail application, and sometimes when I am looking all of the sourced candidates I have contacted previously - it takes a whole to load up all of the updates for the purely sourced candidates. I wish it was faster.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems are only necessarily in terms of not having correct email contact information, or not being able to easily update the source category within our GH application

  ### 39. Sourcing tech profiles and creating a nurturing culture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando D. | Tech Sourcer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Sequences by LinkedIn and Email - the user experience through all the app and its design of it - data, metrics, and numbers around sourcing efforts are super helpful to inform the team and the business.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Not having a mobile version, not being able to automate messages via LinkedIn, not having some templates or ideas around messages and best practices around sourcing so Gem is seen as a smart, efficient and respectful tool - so we don't fall into spam or bad use of the tool.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

+ More organization and reminders
+ Message sequences and cadence
+ Inform business at different levels, teams, managers
+ Obtain market intelligence and define a company/talent roadmap
+ Help to implement an ROE and best practices around sourcing as a support

  ### 40. Best CRM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roberta B. | Recruitment Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem has amazing customer service, my business development process improved, we were able to organize all out leads and always be prepared to cat faster as soon as our clients open a requisition.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It would be helpful to be compatible with more ATS

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leads organization

  ### 41. Clear, Consistent & Concise!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Whitney M. | Recruiting Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem allows you to find, engage, and nurture top talent wherever you source. It also allows for easy tracking of all candidates and their real-time process. It is a concisely and clean software to use to accurately track each candidate within each role for your company.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It could be a little better on being just all the more "live" and up to date as things get updated from our greenhouse into Gem. however, a quick refresh generally does the trick!

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

User-friendly, clear and clean user face. Highly recommend for RC and recruiting functions for both candidates tracking and recruiting talent.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is allowing us to find top-tier candidates. By doing so, this cuts down on the time we have to go out seeking to find the high level candidates that our company is looking for.

  ### 42. My friend, my companion, my Gem

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The responsivity of their CS team. The thought and savvyness of each new product feature announcement.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

That I still need to rely on other systems for key metrics – particularly related to the PROJECT MANAGEMENT of reqs rather than the performance of the sourcing/recruiting.
For example:
- Time to close roles
- Ability to set recruiting activity to active/on hold/passive/paused/completed
- Ability to compound different Gem Projects into a single recruiting project (for example, if I were mapping different companies)
- Ability to compound different sequences into categories to A/B test approaches.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analytics, sourcing, reporting, content optimization.

  ### 43. Just likes it's name - it is a GEM!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Ease of use and team's ability to quickly ramp and see the effectiveness. I live by the sequences. It is a tool that we in TA enjoy using and will use - so we capture the data! The GEM team is also amazing and supportive to work with. This is by far one of the most preferred tools I have worked with in my 15+ year career in recruiting.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Not GEM's fault, but my company not allowing us to integrate with ATS and Slack! When we had that previously, was even more of a game-changer.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagement and outreach. Eliminates the need for the constant follow-up! Giant time saver and ensures we don't miss candidates due to them missing my first email.

  ### 44. The Most Useful Tool in Recruiting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Louis P. | Technical Sourcer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is very smart with its sequences tool and the reports it takes. I'm able to see how effective my email sequences are.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

There are a lot of emails out there. I wish there was a way for the tool to figure out which emails will automatically bounce.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is the most efficient tool I've used in outreaches.

  ### 45. A tool that enables you to punch above your weight.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William U. | Director of Talent Acquisition, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

This solution, works as advertised with easy-to-follow workflows, samples, and analytics!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Ranking of confidence of email or date. when last tested.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is enabling us to reach out to develop and farm that initial contact through personalized and timed communications.

  ### 46. Connecting Gem & SeekOut

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sporting Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem's D&I analysis data is industry-leading and allows us to make meaningful changes in real time. In addition to the D&I data the dashboards are also easy to setup and impactful.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Largely we are happy with all of the Gem functionality. It would be great to evolve the UI to be a little more user friendly but that is honestly clutching at straws

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest business problem Gem solves is how to track our D&I hiring efforts and turn them into meaningful actions either by changing our process, or working with individual teams.

  ### 47. Its great tool to organise the talent pool which is helpful for talent mapping for niche skill

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunanda S. | Technical Tecruiter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Best tool to create talent pipeline and also sequence part, its convenient to send emails and follow up emails to candidates.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometime we dont get the email address of the candidates on time

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organising the sourcing efforts.
Capturing all the relevant fields
Generating email id of candidates which helps to reach out to passive candidates

  ### 48. Amazing Tool for our Teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah H. | Manager, HR Business Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The analytics piece for recruiting and hiring managers have been instrumental in us understanding where we are at. We can't wait for any new additions to be added as Gem continues to update!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I think there a few benchmarking tools that could be incorporated, otherwise no complaints.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have any analytics on outreach or recruiting before this - I know it has been instrumental for all of this. The dashboards are awesome for leadership too!

  ### 49. Great for reporting!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petala I. | Senior Technical Sourcer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is great for sourcing candidate emails, reporting outreach and response rates, and candidate demographics!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Gem doesn't collect data on Native American candidates. It's 2022, and Native American erasure is profoundly passé.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem helps me report to HMs the progress and gaps in diversity in our hiring pipelines. It is also reducing the amount of time I spent tagging candidates' demographics and finding their contact information.

  ### 50. Amazing tool for sourcers and recruiters!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishika G. | Jr Talent Sourcing Specialist- G&A, Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is super helpful to keep track of the pipeline, the response rate, and even the matrices. It helps in keeping track of one's performance as well as comparing and improving the performance. We can see the updates on the candidates and their status. You can also save candidates for future use to your scratchpad!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

If someone updates their LinkedIn profile, it becomes difficult to find it again. Also, sometimes Gem does not pick up details like company name, school name, etc., on its own, and we have to do that manually.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

It is beneficial and easy to use if you consider using it in your organization's recruitment processes and also for sourcers and recruiters who are continuously engaged in building a pipeline of candidates for various roles that they are working on.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recruiting operations like maintaining candidate pipeline, candidate status, creating projects for self-use as well as sharing with the entire larger team. I also save candidates for future reference and add them to scratchpad, so you don't have to search for it again.
