## Gearset DevOps Reviews
  ### 1. DevOps for Salesforce - for developers AND admins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debra W. | Sr Manager & Technical Architect, IT Software Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset understands the nuances of Salesforce deployment and how to monitor changes between orgs. Additionally, both developers familiar with the metadata packages and administrators without a dev background can leverage Gearset to create deployment packages, validate and deploy --- and rollback. The logging within the Gearset tool and connectivity to source control systems and SFDX make this an end-to-end package that simplifies our development lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about the package.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SDLC for Salesforce, consolidated process, code validations, deployment records/logging.
We are able to easily detect and package changes between environments. Gearset also evaluates code and helps us weed out issues prior to promotion. The automation saves time for our entire team.
Both developers and admins are able to use Gearset to compare and package changes, and we can configure rules for which users can deploy to specific environments.

  ### 2. Makes deployments quick, easy and error free!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

I like that I can see what I am deploying and the exact changes I am pushing. There is no guessing if I am overwriting anything anymore!

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

There is a learning curve. But it isn't huge. Once you figure out how to use the tool it is smooth sailing.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployments have been easier and taken less time. I have not had any issues where old issues are reintoduced due to pushing old bugs.

  ### 3. Excellent platform for standardizing Salesforce practices in your org

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael V. | Engineering Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

One of the best features of Gearset is its data migration tool. It has allowed us to streamline how we use sandboxes and make sure our testing team has high-quality, production-like data.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Obviously, being a non-profit, I wish the price point was a bit lower but so far we have found the value to be equal to what we pay. We'd likely have to consider other options if our team was any larger though.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

This is the simplest solution we have found to implement devop processes to our Salesforce workflow without needing to know the highly-technical inner workings of Salesforce deployments - it's amazing.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to monitor changes in our orgs and cleanly develop and deploy new features without using complicated change sets.

  ### 4. Great Salesforce DevOps Solutions! All the functions you need with a good price tag

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cole P. | Senior Salesforce Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

CI/CD Jobs work as designed and easy to setup. Compare & Deploy feature that is smart and intelligent to help my BAs with Deployments. It has allowed us for easier deployments and faster turnaround.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

There is some small features that could be added to make it a better tool with respect to UI/UX. Release managers really need a configurable dashboard.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solved our Release Management Process and Allowed us to use Source Control.

  ### 5. Gearset Recommendation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

- Easy to use and collaborate with team members
- Has great features that other DevOps tools doesn't have

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

- Expensive license
- Data Backup not included in the base plan

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many dependencies on the components before it gets deployed. Example: In deploying a field, you need to include Profile and page layout. It would be good to automatically add this

  ### 6. Gearset is the best change set tool I’ve used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

This tool is powerful compared to everything else in its class. Gearset stands out as it can filter down by specific classes of metadata to save on load times and push everything such as flows and even mass field deletions. In addition it has additional functionalities such as scheduled release times.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Because of how the tool filters, it takes additional time to start your change sets. You need to set up a new filter every time you have something new to push (otherwise load times would be unbearable). Other tools are quicker in this sense.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

It's great if you have large amounts of change sets and metadata that the native or free tools can't handle. The fact that it can schedule and deploy releases for you is amazing.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gearset is saving us the headache of pushing large changes to production. Every type of push is possible in addition to seeing the change log of every piece that changed. Lastly, validations in addition to everything else is contained in this one tool. It's become a one stop shop for moving things to production.

  ### 7. Awesome Application Backed by World Class Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

I don't even know where to start. The Application is great and powerful. It's simple to compare environments and move metadata from one place to another without difficulty. The integration to GitHub lets us maintain a central repository and the Continuous Integration reliably pushes changes across any number of environments (not to forget the Slack integration to notify if something doesn't work). I love that we can set things up and forget about them.

I'd have to say the thing I like the BEST is the in-application support window. When we encounter issues, it's easy to reach someone and communicate the issue. It doesn't matter which support representative picks up the message (Valerio, Ali, Nicole, Ana to name a few); they all are great at figuring what the issue is and guiding us in the right direction.

In summary, Gearset provides a fantastic service and great support to help navigate the complex nature of a platform like Salesforce.com!

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

I don't have much that I can say I dislike. If I have to choose something, I wish the search would extend to items that are within a group (like Custom Fields that are buried in the Custom Object). The ability to search the metadata itself would also be nice to help troubleshoot error messages.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Buy the service. It's worth it!

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The goal of the service that we offer is to provide world-class technology to small non-profit organizations that couldn't otherwise afford to operate the technology. To support these organizations, it's important that all the environments behave the same so we can keep our administrator footprint low. The biggest challenge that Gearset solves is providing us with a way to quickly deploy changes across a large number of Salesforce environments. It's very good at this; to deploy something like a field to 50+ environments is about a 3-minute task with Gearset when configured properly.

The other challenge is the installation of the components to a new environment. Using Gearset with GitHub has allowed us to proceduralize this so it can be done by anyone in our organization regardless of the Salesforce or Gearset knowledge.

  ### 8. My feedback about Gearset

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset help our team to deploy with efficiency et safety our development on salesforce, constitution of the package, and the ability to schedule the deployment is very good

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Like I said to the technical support, when we try to deploy from a git source, we lose all the détail and history (changed by and changed on). It's so difficult to see the modification

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We could now have a backup daily of our two organizations since we subscribed data backup option in December 2021, I think it was a good Investissement for our company

  ### 9. Great Product for Salesforce deployment process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean M. | CRM Developer II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

My favorite things about Gearset are the useful interface and powerful validation system, these componenets make my work so much easier and take a lot of stress out of deployment days. Gearset provides a robust channel for my team to initate seamless deployments from Sandbox to Production when working with our Salesforce environment. It is very simple to use the features of Gearset and we have been more than happy to continue use for any items that would normally be deployed using a Change Set.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

I am not sure if this is a fault of Gearset or Salesforce/Managed Packages we use, but there are times that I cannot find components that my team is trying to move from one environment to another. One other thing that we noticed was that we are not finding it easy to use the share settings between user accounts.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

If you are using Salesforce and your deployment process currently revolves around Change Sets, I highly suggest Gearset; the performance is entirely superior to what the standard functionality of change sets can offer. There is no better product on the market right now for Salesforce deployments in my opinion.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team utilizes Gearset to send push requests to a GitHub repository from individual dev orgs, which is very helpful to maintain continuity of our QA environment. Along with this, we use Gearset to deploy updates from our QA environment up to our Prod environment. It has become an integral part of our deployment activities.

  ### 10. Gearset saved months of DevOps for our team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset provides a wonderful UI for the hidden nuances of Salesforce package.xml CI/CD process. It saved us several months of digging through Salesforce documentation and pushing failed deployments due to inconsistencies with the Salesforce api and documentation.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

I do not see any downsides to it. It has helped tremendously

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

If you are thinking of using Salesforce and a Version Control System, use Gearset, it removes months of headaches.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying to Salesforce orgs from git repos and other orgs as well as creating new scratch orgs from git repos. There are a lot of moving parts in salesforce and keeping track of them for each scenario is a huge headache. Gearset makes it super easy by showing you all the different components that Salesforce supports in a beautiful UI.

  ### 11. Great set of capabilities and they're always looking for ways to make the product better.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

GearSet is easy to use and navigate. It has many great features already built-in, with more enhancements on the way all the time. Their customer support staff are awesome and they are quick to jump on and help figure out why something isn't quite working right.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

GearSet doesn't support all of the metadata types that package.xml supports, but they are working on it. The customer support is second to none...when they are available; however, since they have customers around the globe, it would be nice if support staff were available 24 hours a day to support all time zones fully.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

GearSet is a solid DevOps and CI/CD product and is one of the industry leaders in the field. While it doesn't have every bell and whistle that you might desire, they are constantly striving to make the product better.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have integrated the GearSet CI jobs with Bitbucket and Jira to have a close approximation of CI/CD with little human interaction to get things deployed and the Jira story updated with the proper status. All it takes is a Pull Request in BitBucket, an approval, a merge, and GearSet validates the commit and deploys it up the line.

  ### 12. Very easy to connect, compare and deploy changes. Gearset saves us so much time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh M. | Founding Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Quickly seeing the subtle differences between environments.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Um, yeah, no. Nothing we don't like. I haven't seen it throw us any obstacles.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to visualize environment differences, quickly.
We use it to move specific configuration changes from one environment to another, quickly.
It saves us hours each week!

  ### 13. An excellent product and service - indispensable tool for SFDC Admins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael V. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Very comprehensive and easy to use - access to all metadata, extra documentation, easy rollback features

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Can have a bit of a learning curve if you're not used to deployment tools - could use a quick how-to guide with doing metadata comparisons

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Take advantage of the live support! It's very helpful and quick.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All deployments, backups, imports are handled with Gearset. Saves immense time over changesets

  ### 14. Must have tool for Salesforce Admins, Developers and Consultants

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** EJ B. | Salesforce Consultant, Consultant Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Best way to find differences between sandboxes and production orgs. Much faster than using change sets. Love being able to see and select dependencies.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

There's not much to dislike about Gearset. Sometimes authenticating a new org can be tricky when it redirects to a different org of which you recently logged in.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

When I've reached out to their support team with questions, they answered extremely fast via their online chat. By far the best support experience I've ever had.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Gearset to solve the problem of figuring out what needs to be deployed. This saves me time.

  ### 15. Gearset makes deployments easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

As a novice Salesforce Admin, I found gearset to be so easy to use and intuitive. The ease of comparing multiple items from 2 environments actually made gearset a valuable tool for me when making sure that the environments matched. Its not as easy to see the metadata from 2 environments in deployments from salesforce.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

You have to connect your environments every time you do a refresh. If gearset could automatically update, that would be valuable. It becomes a bit annoying when you start the comparison then you get an error because you are not logged into the environment you are comparing after a refresh.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having Github connect directly to gearset has been a huge problem solver. We no longer have to copy and paste information in multiple apps.

  ### 16. Life Changing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen H. | Salesforce Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset makes deploying changes quick and easy.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

It is a very intuitive program, but I wish it grouped certain pieces of metadata (like custom fields and custom field permissions).

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were manually moving data before, which led to multiple chances for human error.

  ### 17. Great Product, huge time saver.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset speeds up the deployment process immensely. Everyone knows that Salesforce's change set builder is awful, and Gearset's method of cacheing and comparing metadata makes life so much easier. Being able to filter by who made changes, or metadata types, or dates helps a ton. Also deleting things is quite a bit easier than having to build out a destructivechanges.xml file.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Probably not their fault, but sometimes running a comparison takes ever. Sandbox data seeding could use more automation disabling options (disable all flows, triggers, processes, validations, workflow rules).

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Salesforce changesets and deployments take too long to build. Often times it takes longer to build a working change set than to the actual work that it's changing.

  ### 18. Perfect one stop shop for your deployment needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ☁️ Rob C. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Ease of use is high, ability to save draft deployments and iterate upon them is a boon and the application of a PMD scan for code quality review elevates this beyond "just a deployment tool".

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

So far, there's nothing I dislike about the application - I'm only scratching the surface of it's capabilities, but I'm not expecting to find any dislikes

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gearset allows me to do iterable, repeatable consistent deployments between varying sources, be that an Org or a Source Control system. It picks up on artefacts I may have overlooked, quality checks my code and presents everything in an easy to digest format. Rollbacks are even possible - something Salesforce doesn't do out of the box. As a consulting partner, being able to quickly move client changes around efficiently is essential.

  ### 19. Gearset great tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Ability to have multiple orgs that I can compare all aspects of the meta data and data. Differences are easy to view.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Would like to be able to select specific lines of a file (i.e. apex code) that I could move from one org to another instead of the entire file.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

This product is easy to use, easy to learn, and provides an efficient way of interacting with your various Salesforce orgs (including multiple productin orgs).

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) easy comparisons for release day to review with all developers on the team to determine which changes will get released
2) easy interface to GIT repository to backup production before release, main sandbox before release and then production after the release.

  ### 20. Gearset has been invaluable and irreplaceable for me as a Salesforce developer and admin!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff T. | Salesforce Developer and Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Comparison tool is the best in the business. Ability to go from sandbox -> source control -> production is simple and intuitive. A game changer!

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Honestly, I compared a few products in this space, and Gearset wiped the floor with them, and they've been open and responsive to both feedback and bugs (of which, there have been very few). I really can't say anything negative here!

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving code and config changes from our testing environment(s) to production and source control.

  ### 21. Gearset is the best Salesforce comparison tool. Period.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff T. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The comparison tool, obviously! It makes it so simple to move metadata from one environment to the next and eventually to production.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Honestly, not much! Their support is in Israel I believe, so sometimes they may take a bit to get back to you, but never more than a day.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving metadata around environments is very cumbersome without a tool to help you out. Gearset makes it incredibly easy!

  ### 22. Slightly expensive, but an amazing product.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Deployment is faster and easier than with change sets and the Force.com IDE.

The ability to compare orgs is essential to dev-ops.

Best product I've tried.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

The price. It's expensive for small teams that don't have a big monthly budget.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-saving.

Deployment across unrelated orgs.

Probably not benefitting financially, but it improves my work experience.

  ### 23. Gearset is Surprising

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael B. | Salesforce Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset is very easy to use and has the most incredible features I could've imagined for it.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

It does not give you the possibility to edit metadata directly in the comparison screen.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gearset makes it easier to work with a CI pipeline with multiple development teams. Without it, this management would be more challenging.

  ### 24. Very helpful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Berna S. | Solution architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset is really helpful for all kind of deployments. Also data deployment is so helpful while working with CPQ.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

It can be difficult to handover from one user to other since all setup is built on users.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very coplex deployments becomes so easy.
Data deployment especially for CPQ

  ### 25. Excellent Tool for Salesforce

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The interface is really well thought out. Super intuitive and easy to find what you are looking for. When doing analysis of the changeset it's great to have the ability to scan the differences right in the package as opposed to reviewing in git and trying to build a changeset in sf.com manually. I highly recommend this product for companies that use agile development and are doing frequent updates.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Honestly, I can't find much to dislike about gearset. It's so much better than the native sf.com process.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time it takes us to build and deploy changesets is vastly reduced. There is a much smaller chance of forgetting components.

  ### 26. Provides concise, effective deployments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy T. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Filtering metadata for comparisons to gather precise data.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Learning curve. I'm not as good as I'd like to be.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Gearset makes data deployment, CI, and metadata deployments an easy process that allows you easily find the data you want to deploy and easily track and roll back deployments.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a streamlined process moving meta data from one environment to another and being able to easily track changes.

  ### 27. Taking the pain out of source driven development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Providing an easy to comprehend user interface
The ability to deal with destructive changes
A typically quick turnaround by Gearset team on questions through chat
Dependency analysis, preventing common deployment errors

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Pricepoint is high when number of deployments is low
Working with filters is not always easy
For small changes not the most efficient
Static code analysis limited to Apex

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling source driven development for both low-code admins and pro-code developers
Preventing typical deployment errors

  ### 28. Gearset review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Easy to use - and provides great auditability / traceability of all changes.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Deploying permission sets in Salesforce can be painful...instead of selecting 1 file for a permission set you need to select all fields / items changed so changing 1 permission set can mean that your deployment package has 100+ components.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying to Salesforce. The time from sandbox to production is so much faster than what we were doing before, and with a team of developers throughout the world we have confidence that we're deploying without negatively impacting each other's changes.

  ### 29. Forget Change Sets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben K. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Being able to compare metadata and preview the components before selecting them.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Restrictions based on subscription tier, & expensive.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving full org metadata from sandboxes to production when standing up a new peg for a client.

  ### 30. Cannot imagine DevOps without it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Searching for components to validate and deploy. You can also rollback a deployment with a click of a button which -- makes things move quicker knowing that is your backup plan.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

It takes a while to run a comparison because our org is so large (however, you can create filters to speed this up).

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

I've renewed each year so far. It saves me many hours a month!

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Release management efficiency; data management across orgs; time savings; transparency. We also connect to Jira natively.

  ### 31. Salesforce developer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Definitely the code/metadata comparisons, as it provide a good overview of what changed and what did not change. This also makes it easy to do quick peer review on updates

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Process builder comparisons, is really messy, and defintiely makes it a bit more tricky to do the comparisons

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my company we are solving the issues of complex deployments, and to identify the records that needs to be deployed based on what actually changed between the environments.

  ### 32. Best Deployment Tool for Salesforce

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahendra R. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Easy to filter and save metadata, CI and CD, and the test class recommendation made it really fast to deploy

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Expensive license, should have a special pricing for startups

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better tracking of Salesforce Deployment

  ### 33. Great tool, and even better customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler M. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The fact that we can compare a sandbox and prod organization or two sandboxes in Salesforce to make sure all the components that need to be migrated are identified. This avoids a lot of migration issues and prod issues. Gearset has amazing customer support. They are always there to help.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Not much. This tool fills the gap when the deployments are large and can't be done with Salesforce change sets.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Be sure to define your sequence of deployment to handle dependent components.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit is to manage large deployments. It can manage the sequence of deploying components to resolve dependencies. It can check to avoid missed components. The result is faster and more reliable deployments and less production issues.

  ### 34. Life changing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

I like how easy and straightforward it is to use .It enables us to deploy quickly and preview any potential errors .

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

selecting multiple elements is a bit tricky

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Try it, and you won't regret it. I have been using it for a couple of years, and it's a life-changing tool.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploy Medatada changes due to development cycles from sandboxes to the production environment.

  ### 35. A must have for Admins/Developers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin A. | Business Systems Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The ease of setting up and deploying work from org to org. The ability to roll back and changes in case something happens. Cloning. DATA DEPLOYS!

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Not much can be done, but if you have a lot of installed apps and you run a full compare, it will take a while.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployments (data and metadata). Team Deploys. Roll Backs.

  ### 36. My trial of Gearset has gone extremely well. Highly recommended!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Love the 'comparison' between orgs and the filter that allows for quick review and migration of metadata items.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

All good so far, so nothing negative to report.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Rollback feature is invaluable tool and has saved us on a handfull of occasions.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster comparison between orgs and migration between them. Rollback capabilities have proved invaluable!

  ### 37. Gearset - A powerful tool for monitoring any changes on your orgs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Monitoring of orgs to identify any change
Quick deployment of data thanks to the import wizard

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Deployment of metadata, because our deployments are so complex that Gearset can not manage the complexity

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initialization of orgs with data,
Regulatory constraints what require to identify any changes on the org

  ### 38. Gearset deployments and comparisons

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Comparisons, along with the CI for validations and deployments

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

would be nice to be able to do line merge in comparison, this would speed up the process.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

systems out of sync, automated deployment, devops with repos, to validate and merge

  ### 39. MUST tool for any salesforce client.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Time savings & security and fast reaction times from support team.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Nothing bad. Maybe would be good to have a super light version at a smaller price with just super basic features..

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-saving on deployments. Avoid mistakes.

  ### 40. Functional and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julio L. | Salesforce developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

It allows me to compare different sandboxes to find changes and to move them from one to another really easy and intuitive. It also allows me to migrate data from one org to another including the relations

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Price, it's not expensive but it's not something you can pay for every month here in El Salvador or if you're starting as an independent contractor

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Take advantage of the 1 month trial, especially if you're moving a project to the production environment, don't grab it when you have nothing on the horizon or you won't learn the value of the tool

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can deploy much faster to production environment than regular methods, especially with Salesforce CPQ

  ### 41. Couldn't do without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Smooths a lot of complexity in deployments. Easy to use and works amazing. No easier way to manage the complexity of many different orgs or development environments. Integration with source control is very nice, and it works really well at enumerating branches, etc.

One thing I generally like is how it flags potential issues. Unfortunately sometimes that has led to a challenge on my side, where it flagged something for removal that I wanted or needed but didn't realize until after deployment. Over time I've figured out a lot of that stuff though, as my Salesforce knowledge has grown.

Oh, and I really like the history - I can duplicate a comparison and things like that.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Sometimes it's difficult to figure out which changes you want to bring forward and which ones don't matter. For instance, a sort by date doesn't quite always work as you expect. And there's SO MUCH metadata that it can compare from Salesforce, that it can become very challenging to know what to do and what not to. For my part though, I work across a lot of different orgs, so I suspect you can really "dial it in" with a more traditional setup.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

It's a great product that delivers what it promises.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gearset helped me a lot when I was just getting a handle on how to manage our managed package development process. Some years later, now we use it for backup as well as moving metadata.

  ### 42. Gearset mirroring two different Orgs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Analyze function. This allowed us to involve lower skilled administrators .

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

When moving a large selection would like an option after the validation failed to try again with the items that where successful.

Would like to continue with the development to remove named users not on the target syste,.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

I think this is a great product and love the continuous development you create for your own product. I think you should package some type of XML tool. There where some instances where we had to mass change the XML package, and Gearset allows for this perfectly, but as for making the changes to the 100's of XML files in the package....well it was painful and after looking around did not see anything that could do it. Our exact use case was mirroring 2 different orgs that had 2 difference Salesforce features. Therefore SF has a bunch of hidden fields that had to be edited out.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) Mirroring 2 different Orgs -> 100% better than trying to do this in Ant.
2) Monitoring Org changes - Productivity on development environments; understanding production.
3) Backups - Makes it just easy now that Salesforce does not guarantee.
4) Teaming - Allow multiple admins to work collectively together.

  ### 43. Gearset is the cutting edge way to do deployments on the Salesforce Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset was built by people who understand the application development lifecycle and source control managed deployments. It's really refreshed to see Salesforce has a tool that brings it into the modern age for developers

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

I wish their support team was available later in the day U.S. hours. They sign off around 5 pm EST which can be pretty early for needed support on the west coast. The product is amazing and this is really the only downside I have come across.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Be sure to consider your different options in competing products, what Salesforce has available has for development tools / deployment options (and is working on they might eventually catch up to gear and other vendors but it will be a long time). You'll find gearset is a really strong candidate for any needs you have in this space.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to easily deploy anything across Salesforce environments and do rollbacks or other adjustments very easily has been amazing.

  ### 44. My review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset is really helpful in our IT job. It ease the delivery management and is an excellent complementary solution with Salesforce.

The UI of Gearset is intuitive and allow us to train junior ressources to this critical activity in projects.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Gearset do not cover really all the changes from Salesforce

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Make the deployment easier and quicker

  ### 45. Reliable, Feature-Rich Tool for Salesforce Customization Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathanael S. | Business Systems Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The user interface is simple, beautiful and reliable, while at the same time giving powerful features at the click of a button. The primary features that have revolutionized our development lifecycle would be as follows:

1. Metadata comparison makes it easy to see what has changed and what needs to be deployed.
2. The metadata diff feature streamlines code review, making it easy to spot changes and potential issues.
3. Historical comparisons and deployments make it easy to roll back changes, and deploy to other orgs

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Probably the speed of comparison. Gearset caches metadata from the orgs that it's comparing, but that cache cannot be reused across comparisons; it has to be refreshed every time, making comparisons of large orgs or large metadata groups particularly slow.

This is a decision that guarantees truly accurate comparisons, but it would be nice to have some option to reuse cached data, and only refresh a subset, since 99.9% of the metadata in a sandbox can be unchanged from production.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

One of the best things about Gearset is their support. They are a knowledge resource not only on the Gearset product, but also on Salesforce deployment. We have benefitted specifically from their recommendations in relationship to Salesforce DX problems and benefits.

Whatever the subject of discussion, Gearset support works hard to answer questions well, rather than simply focus on closing the ticket. Every support tech I've spoken with has been professional and personable, and the in-app chat makes them easy to reach.

The best part about Gearset support however is that I hardly ever have to contact them. The product is so stable, intuitive, and well-developed that it pretty much supports itself.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Gearset mostly to manage our deployment process. Key benefits over Salesforce's built-in change sets are the ease of code review, and the comparison-driven process allows us to develop without manually tracking every single piece of metadata that we've changed. This protects us from missing metadata leading to difficult-to-track bugs in production.

  ### 46. Goodbye Clunky Salesforce Change Sets, Hello Breezy Deployments!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

We are able to quickly deploy development changes between sandbox environments and easily find all changes done by our team to release as a batch into production. Data compares are very helpful to find bugs in development logic. It took no training to use this system, very easy to onboard.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

When deploying changes between Salesforce orgs, I wish I could choose the specific flow or process builder version to migrate. The newest version is always migrated.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anyone on our team is able to use Gearset, so we are not dependent on a single person/team for deployments. This improves the date to delivery on projects to our business partners, so our team is increasing delivery output. Our team as high confidence that bugs can be quickly rolled back and fixes quickly deployed with Gearset. Our resources spend less time deploying and more time developing and executing on project work.

  ### 47. Very handy and useful tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The process is smooth like wind. it is really cool and easy to maintain tool for deployments and even increase the power of developers by automating the process with integrating Continuous Integratoin

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

I really wish if i could simply use a username and password to login rather than single sign on. Because clients might not get so comfortable sharing their credential with third party

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are automating our deployment processes.
form integrating branches to the orgs straight away
we also have validation option to a sandbox for early anticipation of possible deployment issues
We also incorporated PMD to benchmark our code quality
post and pre deployment steps are very well utilized.

  ### 48. My experience with Gearset

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amey V. | Senior Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

I have been using Gearset since last 3 years and my experience till date has been really great. When it comes to Salesforce deployments, I think this tool has nailed it. The UI/UX and features are user friendly and really well designed. As per my knowledge, Gearset was the first tool to get the dependency analyser and a simple and quick way to manage Salesforce deployments. My team got trained quickly and was able to manage deployments, data migrations, etc. more efficiently. This has definately saved a lot of time and efforts. Gearset team has kept things reasonable and added extra flavour wherever necessary. Their blogs are really helpful and up-to-date. I have used around 5-6 different tools for Salesforce deployments. Hence, I can confidently say that this tool is best among them.
The Gearset team is really helpful and has always been supportive. While interacting, I have always experienced the wow factor. They do have required skills and TAT is amazingly good. If I may, I would recommend Gearset tool for Salesforce deployments.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Honestly, not much to say anything about dislike...

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployments, Data migrations, CICD

  ### 49. A good change management and deployment solution for salesforce

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

- comparing metadata types between orgs and source control (github) is very valuable
- saving the comparisons for review later
- deployment is easy and really like the analyzer as it helps and picks up things you may have missed
- deploying destructive changes from source control (github) to an org is very simple and works well
- can pre-validate the deployment so you can validate then schedule to automate a deploy later
- audit history of the deployment and what was deployed
- for git, ability to create PR's and branches directly from gearset
- quick and easy to setup connections to a salesforce org or github
- can run multiple comparisons at a time in each tab
- support through in-app chat has been amazing and people have been great!!!

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

- in the comparison view, I wish you could sort on multiple columns. workaround is to just filter out specific metadata types then sort on the name column or what not
- doesn't work great on destructive changes when deploying from an org to a source control (need to perform the task twice)
- deploying and comparing profiles is a headache. We can't seem to push new profiles without running into multiple issues (i.e. if we don't include objects in the filter, then it seems to just hose things up with the default values)
- notice that there can be considerable lag when clicking on an item to view the comparison (no visual indicator that it's loading and you just see what you previously selected so can't tell if it's loading or not)
- for certain metadata types, I have noticed that gearset indicates there's a change but there isn't and it's due to xml ordering of the elements. I wish gearset can apply additional logic to not just do a straight file to file comparison but have a "smart" way to determine that the overall end result is still the same. This causes tremendous amount of noise'
- wish there was a way to visually mark that you don't want to see certain items (due to bullet above) when you sort, filter through the comparison (and even update the counts of the Changed Item/ New items, etc. etc.)
- overall performance can be very slow
- certain dependent objects have caused some issues and required some odd ways to make sure they were deployed (i.e. had to click on the arrow to navigate to the dependent objects and select them that way)

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Change management and deployment for salesforce. The classic way of using changesets and the orgs being the source of truth is not ideal. It's not maintainable nor agile and requires a lot of coordination and time spent to manage releases and identify what new changes are being introduced from release to release. Gearset also allows us to help meet certain compliance requirements such as SOX (separation of roles and responsibilities) and better audit of what is being released.

  ### 50. Gearset Has made Salesforce Deployments Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth C. | Director of System Architecture and Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?**

The ability to easily compare objects from different environments, integration with Github, and the ability to do continuous integration.

**What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?**

Have a little trouble moving Salesforce Communities assets but this might be related to Salesforce vs Gearset.

**Recommendations to others considering Gearset DevOps:**

Gearset is a complete, well thought out solution that will make doing deployments, schema comparison, Github integration, change monitoring simple. It only took us minutes to get up our instance running and minutes to understand the interface. This is a true testament because my team and I had very little knowledge of Salesforce and had a major amount of components and custom code that vendors created in all the different instances of Salesforce.

**What problems is Gearset DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gearset has solved the problem of looking at differences between our environment and easily addressing configuration drift.
They give us a myriad for tools that we can use with Salesforce to help manage our changes and deployments.
