Initial implementation can be time-consuming and requires technical expertise.
The system has many modules (APM Health, Strategy, Reliability, Integrity), which take time for users to fully understand.
New users need proper training to use it efficiently.

**What problems is GE Vernova APM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With GE Vernova APM, we can now detect early signs of failure, perform data-driven root cause analyses, and prioritize maintenance based on risk instead of reacting to breakdowns. This has improved equipment availability, reduced unplanned downtime, and optimized our maintenance costs. The platform also helps align operations, maintenance, and reliability teams around a single source of truth, supporting better decision-making and long-term asset health.

As a Reliability Engineer, I have found GE APM to be a highly effective platform for addressing reliability-related challenges. It provides a comprehensive environment for managing asset health, reliability, integrity, and strategy. Moreover, the software enables efficient root cause analysis and facilitates continuous improvement through structured workflows.

One of GE APM’s key strengths is its user-friendly interface, which makes navigating and utilizing its features straightforward. The integration with PHD and CMMS systems further enhances the platform’s capability to perform comprehensive analyses and manage Asset Performance Management (APM) tasks effectively.

In addition, the GE Vernova support team has been exceptionally professional, responsive, and helpful throughout our engagement, contributing to a seamless user experience.

**What do you dislike about GE Vernova APM?**

Although most of the functionality within GE APM is highly effective, there is still room for improvement. One area that could be enhanced is the availability of training materials. While the GE support team has been consistently helpful in resolving technical issues and providing manuals, the addition of more comprehensive video training resources would greatly benefit users and accelerate onboarding.

Furthermore, the SQL query functionality could be made more user-friendly to simplify data extraction and analysis for users with varying levels of technical expertise.

From a Reliability Engineering perspective, GE APM provides valuable insights that support data-driven decision-making, risk-based maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The platform plays a vital role in driving reliability excellence, improving asset utilization, and contributing to long-term cost optimization and sustainable operations. As part of the Asset Performance Management (APM) program, modules such as Asset Health Management, Reliability, Strategy, and Integrity are extensively utilized. Additionally, various tools — including Queries, Datasets, Policy Designer and etc. — are widely used for comprehensive analysis and monitoring purposes.

**What do you like best about GE Vernova APM?**

GE APM has been a standout solution in our asset performance management journey. I’ve had an excellent experience using its full suite of pillars—Strategy, Health, Foundation, Integrity, Reliability, and Reliability Plus (SmartSignal).

Strategy is particularly valuable for developing equipment-level strategies. It supports risk assessments tied to maintenance planning, helping us maximize reliability while minimizing costs. This has been a game-changer for aligning technical decisions with business outcomes.
Health provides real-time visibility into asset conditions, enabling proactive interventions.
Foundation ensures consistent data architecture and integration across systems.
Integrity helps us manage compliance and risk, especially for regulated assets.
Reliability and Reliability Plus (SmartSignal) deliver predictive analytics that have helped us catch potential failures early and improve uptime.

The platform is intuitive, scalable, and backed by strong support. GE APM has significantly improved our reliability engineering workflows and strategic planning.

Ease of Implementation: The rollout was smooth and well-supported. The platform integrates easily with existing systems, and the configuration options are flexible enough to adapt to our operational needs. The onboarding process was clear, and the documentation and support teams were responsive and knowledgeable.

We use GE APM regularly within the reliability team. Whether it’s reviewing asset health, planning strategy, or analyzing reliability data, the platform is consistently in use by our team. Its integration into our routine decision-making processes speaks to its value.

Beyond the product itself, the support we’ve received has been exceptional. Jack Greathouse, our Customer Success Manager, and Cam Raison, our Senior Sales Manager, have been incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in helping us maximize the value of GE APM. Their guidance has made a real difference in our implementation and adoption journey.

While GE APM offers excellent functionality across its pillars, the training materials are difficult to tailor to our company-specific use cases. The content tends to be generic, and there’s no cost-effective way to work directly with GE Vernova to customize training for our organization’s unique workflows. This makes onboarding and adoption slower than it could be, especially for teams that need hands-on, scenario-based learning.

The complexity and depth of their software can be intimidating for first-time users. The entry barrier for their products might be somewhat too high, potentially discouraging a broader range of potential customers.

GE Vernova addresses the challenge of bridging data gaps within our asset management systems by integrating data silos from other platforms like ERP and Data Historian solutions. This integration enables us to make more informed decisions based on comprehensive information. Additionally, GE Vernova offers distinctive features for processes related to Reliability and Integrity, including inspection management, asset strategy development, and more.

**What do you like best about GE Vernova APM?**

The Mechanical Integrity work process applications are robust and complete from a feature, compliance, and usability perspective.  It is second to none in that space.   Integration with other applications is robust and easy to use and setup.    The ease of getting data in (standard, product data loaders, interfacing) and out of the application is top notch (query, KPI, reporting, integration) and unmatched in the industry.   Every other tool on the market requires vendor assistance for loading data.

**What do you dislike about GE Vernova APM?**

The application is very complex, which highlights several issues:
(1) The help files are not sufficient and outdated 
(2) Knowledgeable, well trained GE personnel are limited or non-existent - especially people who are familiar with the details of the applications, how things are supposed to work, etc.
(3) It is not clear on whom to contact when issues arise 
(4) Often times, reaching out to GE is pointless and gets you nowhere
(5) Back in the "Meridium" days, it was very clear who the "answer-people" were - those that new the application well and were actually very useful in assisting to resolve issues.

Staying in compliance with OSHAA 19.10; understanding risks due to corrosion;
