What I liked the best about Gather is it's vision - connecting people throughout the world in a virtual workspace. People get the chance to communicate with others virtually and it's a cool way to bond and connect with colleagues especially when it comes to proximity. "Review for Gather" 5/5 What do you like best about Gather? I like that it's like a game. It's fun to use. You can customize your character/avatar, interact very easily with other users. Just that, if you're required to be on the virtual office for your entire shift, it's kind of unsettling, knowing anyone can walk up to you without warning. :D At an actual office, at least you can see who's coming. But I can really see the usefulness of this if your work is completely remote. \*If there's one thing I don't like, it's the office dog being left alone at the virtual office space. Fun and immersive interaction: The 2D avatar-based environment feels like a retro game, making meetings and social interactions more engaging and less formal. Collaborative environment: You can embed whiteboards, Google Docs, slides, and more — great for teamwork and brainstorming. Great for events and communities: Perfect for virtual meetups, coworking spaces, online classes, and hackathons. Customizable spaces: You can design unique environments (offices, lounges, stages, etc.), which adds to immersion and branding. Built-in audio/video with spatial proximity: Communication is natural — the closer your avatar is to someone, the clearer the video/audio, making it feel more like real life. "Gather the Office" 5/5 What do you like best about Gather? Gather allows me to stay in touch with remote employees. With 2 admins, we can see where we are without having to open calendars, text, or email. Each of us helped "build" the office so it is truly our space and we have decorated our spaces to reflect our personalities. I love the ability to talk with one or both - either in chat or by voice.
