## Gather Reviews
  ### 1. A creative and engaging solution for remote collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ISSAOUI B. | IT administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

Gather provides an engaging and immersive virtual workspace experience that feels far more human than standard video conferencing tools. With features like spatial audio, customizable office spaces, and avatar-based interactions, collaborating becomes more natural and enjoyable, particularly for remote teams. It also enhances informal communication and strengthens team connections.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

While Gather stands out for its innovation, it can be somewhat demanding on older computers. Additionally, newcomers might require a brief adjustment period to become familiar with navigating and interacting within the virtual environment. When a large number of users are connected simultaneously, there may be a slight decrease in performance.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gather addresses the challenge of limited social interaction in remote work by simulating a real office environment online. It enables teams to collaborate more efficiently, fosters spontaneous conversations, and enhances team engagement, all of which contribute to improved communication and productivity.

  ### 2. Engaging and Immersive Virtual Workspace Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anbuselvam S. | LLM Trainer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

Gather provides a very engaging and interactive virtual workspace experience that feels more human than traditional video conferencing tools. I really liked how well-organized the space was during the TELUS International recruitment process. The environment was smooth, intuitive, and helped in easy movement between meeting areas. The overall user experience is unique, immersive, and well structured for professional discussions and collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

Sometimes the platform can feel slightly heavy on system resources, especially on lower-end devices. New users may need a short time to understand movement and controls in the virtual space. Occasional network lag or audio delays can happen depending on internet stability. More customization options in the free version would also be helpful.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gather solves the problem of boring and disconnected virtual meetings by creating an interactive, real-world–like workspace. During my recruitment and meeting experience with TELUS International, it helped improve engagement, made interaction more natural, and reduced the monotony of regular video calls. It also made communication more organized, collaborative, and memorable.

  ### 3. Fun and Interactive, Ideal for Friend Gatherings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sherry F.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

I find Gather to be an excellent platform for chatting and discussing various topics with friends. It provides a great environment for open discussions, which is exactly what my friends and I need. I particularly love the decorating system and board games available on Gather; we spend a lot of time playing and enjoying these features. Additionally, I found the initial setup of Gather to be very easy, making the transition smooth and hassle-free. Overall, these features enhance our experience and make Gather an invaluable tool for our interactions.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

I find it easy to lag during the racing game on Gather.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Gather as a great place for discussing anything with friends and enjoying activities like board games.

  ### 4. The best professional discovery

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alpha L. | Graphiste indépendant Print / Web, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

Using it in my work has literally changed the way I work in a group. The ability to chat individually or in groups is a revolution in video conferencing. At least it's changing things a bit. Gather allows a large number of users to be grouped together and there are no limits. The ability to share your screen with one person or a group of people is very practical when you're making corrections or sharing a problem on a professional subject. It's a lot of fun to interact with, but it's also fun to play with.

does not require any installation on the computer, it's just an entry link to the show. It's like creating a school with several classrooms. You can navigate the map to change rooms. It's a great idea, especially as you can set up a virtual company without having to pay the costs of a real office :D

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

It happens, but not often, with lags or freezes. It's rare but possible.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working independently in a calm environment. Virtual classes. Allows you to be in a company without the hustle and bustle of the working environment. The opportunity to discuss strategic points or company needs without disturbing other employees around you.

  ### 5. Feels like working in-person without being in-person

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander K. | Copywriter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

The 3 statuses - DND 🔴 (Do Not Disturb) - Busy 🟡 - Available 🟢

I can clearly tell when someone is available to talk or not.

Encourages team interaction when when textual communication just would not be efficient.

The fact that I can record meetings and now even transcribe them automatically.

The look and feel which makes it feel like a game, some of those 90s/2000s RPG games. And then work becomes fun and that’s awesome!

In a nutshell: Gather encourages collaborative and fun at work.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

Only one thing:

I do have occasional technical hiccups where my external USB-C-powered microphone is not working. This can be quite annoying. But unplugging it from my USB-C port does the job and then the internal MacBook Air microphone will have to do the job, which works.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gather solves the problem of allowing me to work fully remotely anywhere in the world while connecting me to my team mates and feel actually really connected, as a human person, as a creative spirit, and as a professional.

  ### 6. Gather is as fun as it is efficient!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruna S. | Copywritting Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

This week, one of my team members gave us feedback on how our company manages to be so efficient at eliminating communication noise. It’s as simple as walking up to someone’s desk, talking, and solving problems. This has been our reality since we started using Gather, which has seamlessly aligned with the culture we want to foster as a remote-working company.

Of course, the ability to customize our desks, avatars, office environment, and even unwind with the team through games and kart races within the platform also makes our daily routines more enjoyable and smooth. Another incredible feature of Gather is its integration with my Google Calendar. It keeps me informed about my meetings, allows me to schedule meetings in specific spaces directly within Gather via the Calendar, and sends the entire team there automatically.

There are countless things I love about this space—it's undoubtedly the coolest tool I’ve worked with in my six years of remote work!

Another highlight is the customer support. I forgot to download a recording, and they got back to me within 24 hours with everything I needed—super helpful! We use it every single day, and we love it!

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

My only suggestion for improvement is actually more of a product adjustment. Sometimes we face difficulties turning on cameras during a meeting and need to restart the app. It can also be a bit heavy on less stable connections or certain devices. However, it doesn't significantly impact our day-to-day experience :)

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gather helps me ensure that my team is always within reach, solving problems quickly and effectively, staying united and aligned with the same goals and tasks, all without wasting time on unnecessary meetings or overly long emails.

  ### 7. Great tool to improve team's collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

My team uses Gather as a supportive tool for communication. We have set up a vistual office space and use it for quick calls when it's faster to approach someone by their desk or when we want to do code pairing session. The main benefits that we find are:
- transparency - we can see who is participating in spontaneous meetings and join them as we want which reduces hidden conversations
- code pairing and team performance - being able to share multiple screens at the same time and having transparency and freedom to leave the meeting whenever we want, it increases the frequency of our code pairing sessions. As a result, whole team is up to date which what other team members are working on and code reviews get released to production much faster. We reduced our code reviews times from 2+ days to under 1 since using it for the past couple of months.
- last but not least, my favourite - transparency and virtual office increase team's collaboration and opportunity for small talk which resulted in must stronger team's foundations like trust and reliability

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

When using Gather symultaneously with few other heavy software like few instances of visual studio and docker, it can be bit laggy occasionally and loose access to camera. Also switching between zoom and gather can cause headphones to not connect correctly.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It increases team collaboration and makes code programming easier and more accessible.

  ### 8. Excellent Collaborative App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Gather?**

Gather helped me and my team to easily colloborate and communicate with each other since we are in a remote based company. It was easy to setup. We use Gather everyday, not only for work but also when we need to have fun and play games with each other. It also has this Google Meet integration that easily connects my Google Meetings so that I would be reminded of my meetings.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

There are a lot of display bugs, sometimes invisible walls or pass through walls that for me personally is funny since we get to pass through another room without going around. There is no record a meeting function which would be nice if added since we don't need to go to Google Meet to record a meeting instead we can directly record a meeting in a room in our space or when collaborating with a certain team member/s

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of communicating with my team members, I do not need to go to a meeting link if I wanted to talk with them I would just go to their space and I can speak to them directly

  ### 9. The closest to an in-person experience for remote work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas P. | Chief Product Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

Gather is by far the closest experience to in-person work while being remote. From impromptu conversations with your teamates, seeing what everyone is up-to, and even pranking your closest friends by placing 187 a rubber duckies on their desk.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

My only two complaints about Gather are the lack of reordering for objects in your desk, and that it's an resource intensive software.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gather has improved the experience for the whole team, creating a more integrated workplace in a remote environment.

  ### 10. Gather just makes work fun.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gordon B. | CRO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Gather?**

Gather emulates a workspace, and truly makes you feel like you're there with your teammates. Were able to collaborate, play games, and build company culture despite all working virtually.

Love it.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

Seems to take a lot of CPU to run the app.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Culture building and communication are the main two. Makes working with the team a lot easier, and more fun.

  ### 11. I feel connected with my team now

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** strager s. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Gather?**

I feel like I'm working with my team now, even if I'm not chatting with them directly.

I love watching people walk around to talk to others. It makes work feel alive, not alone.

For example, today, someone started dancing in Gather. I joined, and we soon had half the team dancing. Then we started talking about the rat on one person's head...

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

Mobile chat features are terrible. No notifications, for example. We still use Microsoft Teams for chat.

No meeting recordings or integrations with our AI note taking app (Fathom.video). We still use Teams for this too.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team connection

  ### 12. Great tool for remote teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valentina C. | CCO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Gather?**

How fun and interactive it is and how much better our internal communication has been with it.
We are using it daily, all our communication moved into Gather. It was very easy to set up and easy to use.
It integrates easily with Google Calendar.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

Sometimes it crashes, it can impact PC speed when it is on

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal communication and socializing.

  ### 13. Gather made a difference in our workspace.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joana A. | Head of People, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Gather?**

The fact that it truly brings people together simulating a workplace environment, which really makes us feel more connected and creates a more fluid and dynamic atmosphere between teams.

**What do you dislike about Gather?**

It’s an app that crashes often, making some meetings difficult.

**What problems is Gather solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides sense of belonging, improved talent retention, fostering collaboration and connection among people, as well as strengthening relationships between teams.
