I could easily create a research lab schedule of all the analyses I have to run in my lab. My schedule includes multiple pieces of machinery that I entered into GanttPRO as "virtual resources." Then, for each item/event that I needed to run, I could assign the machine and enter the duration that the analysis takes to get a complete timeline of the project. I use the calendar view daily to see how long each machine needs to run and keep me on track. I also find the dashboard useful when I am asked how far along I am because it gives me a simple breakdown of what percentage I have completed and what percentage I have to do yet. Unfortunately, the prices are unreasonable. The $7.99 plans don't really exist, since you are paying for the whole year, not the month (Annual plan). Monthly plans cost $10, which is reasonable, but you are forced to buy them for 5 accounts. really? to get a student discount you have to leave a 5 star review? After a thorough review of many, many options including Monday.com, Zoho, SmartSuite and a few others, we decided on GanttPro for the management of several projects.

The interface and functionality is crisp and clean and to the point. Whereas others have a great many "add-ons" (that you often need to pay extra for), GanttPro takes care of basics in a professional manner. It also allows one to easily view resource / staff commitments across several project simultaneously, which is vital to an advisory firm such ours.
