I honestly don't know. I'm not the one who implements them, so I don't know how difficult they are to use. I guess it would be better if configuration was a little easier to understand. I appreciate the fact that there are a lot of customization possibilities, elegant maps, and graphics, it is easy to expand with custom descriptions and custom functionality when a user taps a section of a chart. I think the performance of the on-line documents is unclear. Often the examples are simple and detailed and complemented by a functioning code at CodePen but still, the definitions are vague and do not provide examples or include pieces of code, but still not enough to give a complete working example. As a non-CS person, I needed a solution that my developers could use to quickly generate visualizations based on user feedback or for new publications. We went the route of D3 / NVD3 / custom libraries, but the process was always time-consuming and expensive. There are a few chart types that are not available, and a few limitations in terms of chart features not working with certain chart types.
