I often find myself in very remote areas so being able to work offline is very helpful. One Place to Manage Assets **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023 **What do you like best about Fulcrum?** Fulcrum Allows me to do my Sewer inspections easily and helps me to find the assets accurately, i can drive towards the assets easily, earlier i used to track it on maps manually, by tracing them a day before the inspections, but now i can plan on the day of inspection itself, and managing the data became much more easier where i can download the inspection data into required formats, and the most i use is excel format, overall fulcrum makes my inspection easier and reduces my effort on managing and maintaining the inspection data. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** Sometimes when i try to geo tag an asset on roadway, i used to stand a side while entering the data, and when i try to submit the location, the location mismatching than what i require and even though i enter co ordinates manually, and when i try to over write an previous inspection data, its bit tricky for me to save as new data instead of overwriting the old one with new one, i lost few assets data for the previous inspection. **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fulcrum allows me to find the assets much quicker than using GIS, managing data and report making became much easier, photo collection of all the previous inspections is helpful to do compare analysis in the field, data conversion to different formats is helpful to manage the data easily. ### 6. So each, specific app is focused and simeple/managable (rather than all tasks being included in one large, "integrated" application with several menus etc). **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** It can be cumbersome to edit the report tables into final ones, and to associate photo file names with sample numbers. Customer support is excellent and they often help with arranging updates for the product. When I first entered solar in 2015, there was nothing like Fulcrum at our disposal. It does this reliably and without any fuss. I have had limited exposure to any competing product but that is simply because Fulcrum does everything required. Support via the online portal's chat is brilliant. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** There are some relatively minor features relating to formatting of the data collection application (Would be nice to change font colors for example) that could be added, but the exclusion of these features also keeps things easy to navigate and reliable. **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fulcrum allows us to collect huge amounts of data for future processing. We actively discourage the use of paper notes while our staff are on site as these are routinely misplaced and the information becomes extremely time consuming to process- fulcrum does it all digitally. ### 12. Fulcrum isn't the best solution, but it's better than writing something from scratch! There is a ton of support documentation and their support team is very responsive. Using the apps in the field is also a great experience and works everytime. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** I honestly do not have any dislikes about Fulcrum. It is that good! The software is drag and drop and is so easy to use. The only place I'd like to see an improvement is with report building. More options would be great, but is nice the way it is. **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have used inspection software previously. It was incredibly difficult to customize to our needs. It would require us to contact the company and get them to make changes. With this software, however, we can make an inspection app and fine-tune it. I have several different apps built out for different situations. ### 29. Both sides can see if the task is pending or completed or if there are observations so changes can be done. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** I do not know if there is a notification from the app when something is completed, uploaded or downloaded, or if there is information needed. I like notifications. **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** My organization sends tasks and it is easier to see which ones are completed, which ones are pending and which ones neede more information. We have not done all of them but most and we find it easier. ### 33. And for something a bit more complicated like a bit of coding the fulcrum team is great at providing solutions and recommendations. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** Some features could use a bit of an explanation. Recently I wasted a lot of effort when I included species common names as the value field in a choice list not realising that that meant when I downloaded my data, they would all appear as common names not the original scientific names. I would also appreciate some fulcrum team members being available in my time zone here in Australia. **Recommendations to others considering Fulcrum:** Get to know the security measures and if they suit your project needs **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** Massively reducing time spent on data entry and with it, human error. It means that I don't spend several days/weeks at work doing the data entry manually! Goes from 15usd a month to 30+USD per user per month. I wish there was cheaper alternative. **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to tag each address we work on with the lat long. With city parcel data, we are able to connect each data point with a commercial or residential address making data easy to track. ### 35. I love that I can show people on the map how many pins there are and how they can find them on their own. I find it helpful that I do site visits to each encampment to track how many services we do. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** Some of the downsides are that the app can be glitchy. At the end of a project, photos are easy to sort through and users have the ability to annotate photos. App functionality. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** The fact that it is assumed everyone who uses Fulcrum is from the USA. No where does it specify the currency of the cost before subscription. Cost ended up being $68 Australian dollars. Again, they just assume America is at the centre of their universe. The customer service only operates during USA work hours and is unsuitable for Australians because of time differences. There are plenty of cheaper options with the same level of customer service and easy to use interface. **Recommendations to others considering Fulcrum:** I personally would find another service if you have a small company. Fulcrum is suited to big companies that offer training for staff. Also not suitable for people overseas. I always have a backup of my data available. I can import and export data into different formats. It's easy to use. Its easy and quick to find assets in the field, as well as quickly inputting data. **What do you dislike about Fulcrum?** I dont like the picture saving process. It used to be straightforward, but now they added extra steps, that make naming photos a major pain. They have not introduced a photo naming convention/ the ability to have Fulcrum automatically label any pictures in a manner of your choosing. If Fulcrum had this ability, it would save me 3 or more hours every time I have to save pictures. **Recommendations to others considering Fulcrum:** Get it to have a backup of your work, and to be able to track worker's progress. **What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fulcrum is helping me to inspect sewer and stormwater assets, andcreport them in a timely manner.
