"A different way to learn how to become a better web developer"
5/5
What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

I love how they teach because it is not just a tutorial video; it´s a workshop.

The workshop gave students space for questions, and I liked hearing about the different questions that the audience had.

The teachers are doing the class on live streaming; that is awesome.

The Discord channel, monthly streams with Marc, and the progress dashboard are the best.

The video player and the quality of the recordings are outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

It´s hard to find something I don´t like about the platform. It is my favorite place to learn in the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

I like the content that front masters have. They are constantly renewing themselves and looking for incredible instructors. The mobile platform for me is really good because of it I can learn in most places Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

Not much. I have some issues using my browser whenever I watch a course my progress is not saved. This was fixed using Safari. Also, I met front masters with a business account and I was not able to transfer my account details and the progress I have. I have to manually mark some courses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marc Grabanski of Frontend Masters

Glad you love our courses and courses, and our mobile team will be happy to hear that the apps allows you to learn anywhere!

Regarding the issue you faced with progress tracking and account transfer, we recently made some improvements to address maintaining progress when transferring between teams and so that shouldn't be an issue any longer moving forward.

Thank you for being a part of our community, Alejandro!

"Great site for learning at your own pace"

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

Frontend Masters has a wide variety of courses to choose from. The learning paths are especially helpful for someone getting started in the field. The lecture-style courses are great for answering real questions that students have, not just rolling through a slideshow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

As someone starting out, a difficulty is that most of the courses do not have any feedback mechanism. Often, a small error or misunderstanding gets in the way of continuing a course effectively. Additionally, certifications would be great. I have completed many courses on FM, but my resume can't really reflect that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

The fact that it has a bunch of courses on a wide variety of topics taught by industry leaders, from frontend to backend, and really helpful roadmaps to never stop learning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

I don't really think I have any complaints about it...

I guess the pricing could be location based so users from other countries could have a better chance at affording it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

the content itself is great all courses in frontend masters are great well prepared and to the point even the times where the content seems like just a talk it would be a technical talk and it's all helpful and important information Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

the lack of questions or things to do although the content is great sometimes i would need to answer questions just to keep me focused so a quick question between a few videos would be great to keep the focus Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marc Grabanski of Frontend Masters

Thank you for your feedback! Glad our courses are helpful for you. We aim to keep all content engaging and on-point, so it's good to hear that we're on track.

The suggestion about adding some questions or interactive elements between videos is excellent. We're currently experimenting with courses incorporating quiz questions alongside the videos! This is definitely something we're working on.

Thank you again for your review and for being a part of our learning community, Nader! Glad our courses have been helpful, cheers!

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

The variety of courses and tutors are the primary reason I will be a fan forever.

I never though I could study data structures and algorithms in Javascript with such ease.

I am not a beginner in web dev but still I realised how much I don't know, after visitng this website.

Kyle Simpson, Will Sentance, Brian Holt and ThePrimeagen are my fav tutors.

I would highly recommend everyone to give it a try at least for a couple of months Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

Nothing so far. Will update the review if I find one :D Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

I have several reasons for liking Frontend Masters:

1. In comparison to other online tutorials I have studied from, Frontend Masters stands out because their instructors delve deep into the subject matter. This approach creates a eureka moment in my learning, allowing me to truly understand the concepts without resorting to rote memorization. One course that particularly impressed me was the JavaScript course taught by Will Sentance.

2. Frontend Masters has been instrumental in helping me clear several interviews, leading to my current employment with a prominent American MNC.

3. I appreciate the classroom-style teaching approach at Frontend Masters. Even though attending live workshops can be challenging for me due to the timezone difference, the recorded videos still manage to evoke the feeling of being in a classroom. The presence of students asking questions adds to the immersive learning experience.

4. The instructors at Frontend Masters are not only knowledgeable but also friendly, creating a comfortable learning environment.

5. Frontend Masters offers unique courses that are hard to find elsewhere. For example, they have a comprehensive full-stack course taught by Jim Young, and they also cover topics like React performance, which are rare to come across. Such specialized content typically requires years of experience to develop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

Few things that can be added or improved

- course on Micro frontends can be added.

- subtitles sometimes show wrong words. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marc Grabanski of Frontend Masters

Hi Nikhil, thank you for such a detailed review! It's heartening to know that our courses have played a significant role in your career growth and interview success -- congrats on landing your job! That's awesome. Glad you like the classroom / immersive style of the courses.

Your feedback about adding a course on Micro frontends and improving the subtitles is appreciated, and we'll certainly take it into consideration.

Thanks for being part of our learning community! And congrats again on your success.

"Some of the best courses out there for a frontend developer"
5/5
What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

What I love about Frontend Masters is that they provide "paths" that help you gradually improve your skills, starting from basic concepts and continuing up to a deep understanding of the tech stack that a frontend developer uses. At the same time, the instructors are experienced developers and do an excellent job explaining these topics in a way that is easy to understand without sacrificing too much of the deeper aspects of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

I don't think there is something that I could say is objectively wrong about the platform. The only improvement I can think of is that it would be great if the platform could provide certificates after completing the courses or some assessment after completing them.

Additionally, while I think the content is worth the price, the subscription is a bit expensive, so getting employers to buy a team subscription can be difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marc Grabanski of Frontend Masters

I'm happy to hear you love the learning paths and courses! We worked hard on structuring the paths across all our teachers.

I appreciate your suggestion about certificates and assessments. We continually aim to provide more value to our subscribers, and this feedback is vital for that.

Thanks for being part of our learning community!

"Great way to keep up to date"

What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

Love the range and depth of topics covered. They're covering more than just the frontend now, and also have some mobile dev things. The list of courses I want to watch is so long because they're always coming out with new material Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

I wish there were an ability to see reviews for the courses because sometimes I'll be more than half way thru a course and realize that it's too niche for me to use the material in the course. Also wish there were a way for the exported notes to have code/the screenshot/slides at the time tied to it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best teachers and material!"
5/5
What do you like best about Frontend Masters?

When I started learning code, I was a little intimidated and lost a lot of time with looong courses from average teachers (I'm looking at you, Udemy), which led to learning in a very mixed and unstructured way that I wouldn't recommend. Frontend Masters changed that and is, until now, my go-to source of AWESOME courses with AWESOME teachers that are just, well... Masters at their craft. It feels like a luxury to have access to this content, truly terrific stuff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Frontend Masters?

Well, I shouldn't complain about a site with "Frontend" in its name... But I would looove the platform to extend their material towards more and more backend content and technologies. Don't get me wrong; they already have been doing that... But I would love to see more backend languages covered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
