## Froala Editor Reviews
  ### 1. abc

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anusha P. | Senior Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

It is lightweight and easy to integrate with the Development Framework. It is best suitable for small to medium-weighted web pages.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

As the size of the code increases, the webpage tends to be bulky.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use and integration with the current development framework.

  ### 2. Good editor, very expensive and commercial part way too aggressive.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joël I. | Freelance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

It's beautiful and easy to use. Very stable, never bug at all.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

All the commercial part is kinda horrible. You receive mail every week to buy, buy, buy + you can't manage your account.
If you want to manage your licenses and your domains, you have to send an email and in the response they ask you to buy things... That's way too aggressive for me.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I could easily make a nice comment section for a big site. Thank you for that.

  ### 3. Froala is useful as a document wysiwyg editor.. but it can't be used for Chat/Discussion interfaces.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

Froala has a nice clean interface, with a nice selection of plugins. It not uses vanilla js and performs reasonably ok.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

The editor is flexible enough to be used across multiple common software use-cases. For example, most modern business software has need for discussion/comment/chat functionality. For some strange reason the ability to put the toolbar underneath the editor (like you see on most chat programs like Slack, Microsoft Teams & Intercom) is not supported by Froala on mobiles.
This is really surprising as it should just be a simple set of css rules.
The support for mentioning is weak - and frequently buggy. (e.g. mention dropdown appearing off screen etc). The emoticon popup support is also buggy.
In general on mobiles the editor has focus issues when uses use the plugins, for example toggling editor focus as you try to use emoticons can cause the mobile keyboard to jump.

**Recommendations to others considering Froala Editor:**

Good for general document editor. However avoid if you want to build any cross-device discussion/comment/chat interface. I encourage potential buyers to ask Froala if they have fixed support for toolbars on bottom on editor on mobiles.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking to use Froala for all our rich html entry fields. This has worked well for some areas of our product, particularly for desktop users.

  ### 4. Good editor, though a bit buggy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

The editor is very clean stylistically and looks great on all devices. There are a lot of options that allow you to customize the look-and-feel as well as the behavior and tools available. The documentation is sufficient to get it working pretty quickly.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

The editor isn't the most stable WYSIWYG editor I've ever used. All software has bugs, but the problem we had with Froala is that when you find a bug, the Froala developers don't seem to care. They might acknowledge the issue you raise if you are lucky, but even if it's acknowledged, they likely won't take any action. It's great that users can record issues and bugs on the GitHub page, but that only has values if the company is going to listen to the bugs and take action on them. We found that most often, the bugs would be closed without any actual resolution, which was disappointing.

The customer support also could use some improvement. In most of our customer support contacts, we didn't get rapid responses and often the issues we raised were not resolved adequately.

**Recommendations to others considering Froala Editor:**

Try it out and see if it works for you! If you just want something clean and simple, it may be a good option! Hopefully you won't run into any of the bugs and issues we had :)

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Froala as the primary editor for our content publishing platform. It was pretty easy to get working in our initial implementation, but beyond the initial configuration options, we found it difficult to customize it. Ideally, the Froala editor would be more readily available to customize and extend beyond just the basic configuration options.

  ### 5. Documentation could be more thorough, some bugs

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

It's a pretty good editor that basically gets the job done when you want to be able do basic formatting on text. It works for our purposes which is an email editor for our users.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

I thought the documentation could be more thorough and clear -- it wasn't always easy to figure out what exactly I needed to do to get the configuration I needed. Also there was a bug where sometimes the character counter for the editor would appear in the wrong place for no reason and I had to force it to the right place.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Froala Editor for an email input to allow users (recruiters) to email candidates about jobs. Our users are able to write and format emails to candidates using the Froala Editor.

  ### 6. Froala comes out expensive for web developers and has limited plugins and no community support

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

Froala Editor is a great WYSIWYG editor with drag and drop image and file insertion. It can integrate with S3 for asset storage and is reasonably easy to customise. The interface is intuitive and customers find it easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

No community support, so if you have a problem or need help you have to resort to completing a form and waiting. You can't gain knowledge from other peoples experiences. For a wildcard license (to use on any domain) the annual price is very high. There are not many plugins.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We build web and mobile apps, some of which need the user to edit content.

  ### 7. Great Editor for a steep price

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

I like how easy it was. The ability to edit HTML directly and the cleanliness of the editor GUI itself.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

The main thing that will prevent me from using Froala in the future is the price. As well, the took away the ability to add domains to my license myself. I don’t want to contact someone to do it.

**Recommendations to others considering Froala Editor:**

It is a great editor if you can afford it. Make sure you can use it on sub domains as well.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding an easy enough WYSIWYG editor to use that even the dumbest of people can edit the website.

  ### 8. Good, costly plugin

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

Froala is good in usability and its APIs are extensive and robust

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

There are css problems sometimes. It is way costly. There are open source editors at par with froala.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Give confidence to my customers of a branded product

  ### 9. great

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

great product, easy to use, and intuitive

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

sometimes, the load times are slow and I wish there was a better way to do things

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the benefits were more efficiency, actionable data, and better time to market for new product launches

  ### 10. it is very good for desktop, but not suitable for mobile hybrid app

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yue Z. | Graduate Student Researcher, Research, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2016

**What do you like best about Froala Editor?**

If you are developing a desktop editor, Froala is a very good option. Its API is rich and clean.

**What do you dislike about Froala Editor?**

However, I am developing a hybrid mobile app and find Froala needs to improve in 1). hide the native toolbar while expose API for developer to link functions to custom out of editor buttons. 2). it is better to have Frala easy to work without jQuery or with light jQuery alternatives like jQlite, etc.

**What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Write a hybrid mobile app with a rich text editor embedded.

**Official Response from Kegan Blumenthal:**

> Hi Yue - thanks so much for your review and for using Froala! I wanted to follow up on this comment with good news - the newest version of Froala is completely jQuery free! Would love to hear your feedback on the new editor. You can download free here: https://www.froala.com/wysiwyg-editor/download. Thanks again!
