With a database of more than 60,000 subscribers, we've seen an immediate boost in conversions. I originally chose Freemius because I needed a way to provide automatic updates for my WordPress plugin, but I soon realized that Freemius' cart recovery system saves so any sales that I wouldn't have been able to. In addition, I wasn't familiar with EU vat, and thanks to Freemius, I don't have to, because they take care of all of that horrible bureaucracy. Freemius pricing model takes between 17-25% on your first $5,000 in sales. This is a sizeable percentage of each sale initially after launching your plugin, while it does drop to 5% following your first $5,000 in sales, much more in line with payment processing type fees, but from that initial $5,000, they take around $1,200.
