As a solo founder, the last thing I want to spend time on is payment infrastructure, tax compliance, and subscription edge cases. Freemius handles all of it as Merchant of Record, which means global VAT and sales tax are simply not my problem anymore. That alone removed a huge mental load. But honestly the thing that stands out most is the support. They are always available, always responsive, and always actually help. Every single time I reached out I got a real answer from a real person, fast. For a one-person operation that kind of reliability is priceless. On top of that the interface is genuinely a pleasure to use. It is clean, intuitive, and easy to understand, so I am never lost trying to figure out where something is. Honestly there is very little to dislike. If I had to name something, the breadth of features and settings means there is a small learning curve at the very beginning while you get oriented, but the documentation and the support team make that easy to get past. Freemius lets me sell my SaaS globally without building my own billing stack or worrying about tax compliance across countries. As Merchant of Record they take on the regulatory and financial complexity, so I can put my energy into the actual product instead of payments. But what really stood out was how hands-on they were getting me set up. Almost everything I needed help with, from configuring marketing email settings to setting up my payment plans, they walked me through personally. They jumped on a video call with me and patiently went through every step until it was done right. For a solo founder that level of real, human support is rare and it made all the difference. Freemius gives us a reliable Merchant of Record setup so we can sell AIcollab.app services globally without getting buried in tax, compliance, and payment complexity. What makes it especially valuable is the fair pricing strategy, constant platform development, and how easy it is to understand and implement in practice. We also really appreciate how close the founder is to customers — being able to jump on 1:1 video calls for direct clarification and support helps us solve issues faster and grow with confidence. I like the Freemius dashboard because it is well made and easy to understand both technically and for someone without a technical background. The Setup Checklist is helpful, offering precise explanations for each step, which made implementing everything we needed on our website very easy. We haven't encountered any issues with Freemius, and I have confidence in their support team to assist us if needed. I also find the setup checklist well-written, making the setup process smooth for our technical team. There's no doubt in my mind that I would highly recommend Freemius to friends and colleagues. If I had to be pick something I'd say I would probably change the colors of the dashboard to something more light, but thats just more of a preference choice. They offer a licensing API that fits our use case perfectly and is straightforward to manage. Their cost structure is clearly explained, and I personally think it’s very fair, especially compared to other MORs. On top of that, Freemius has great support. As a merchant of record, they handle payments, subscriptions, VAT/tax, invoices, compliance, and many of the operational details that would otherwise take a lot of time away from product development. For anyone selling plugins, extensions, or SaaS products, Freemius provides a solid end-to-end platform: checkout, licensing, renewals, customer management, analytics, and growth tools. The documentation is also clear and structured, which makes it easy to integrate into modern developer workflows, including AI environments where docs can be searched, summarized, or used while coding. Some parts of the platform take time to fully understand, especially if you want to customize the customer experience or deeply integrate the SDK into an existing product. I use Freemius as the payment provider behind the scenes for my Vibe coding apps, and it enables me to get paid. It's an easy-to-implement third-party payment service that allowed me to plug in and start getting paid worldwide pretty easily. The biggest win for me was that it's a merchant of record, which means I don't have to handle any tax issues and legal issues because it gives my customers invoices automatically. This helps me focus on building a good product without having to worry about other headaches. Additionally, Freemius immediately gave me amazing customer support, helped me along the way, and was very customer-facing. The support was amazing, and if I did anything I wasn't sure about, I just posted it in the Slack community, and they helped immediately. Overall, the initial setup of Freemius was pretty seamless. They are blocking too many account, They blocking big comanies whose sold more to $1 million dollar. I've been with Freemius for a few months now and I'm so glad I made the decision to switch from EDD. Everything just works with Freemius and I'm not having to spend a ton of developer resources fixing things. Not only that, I'm pretty sure sales are up as a direct result of moving to Freemius. Their checkout is intuative and they make upgrading licenses super easy. It's still early days but it's looking very promising. They handle all sales tax which is yet another headache that I don't need to deal with. I'm finally able to focus on improving the product and helping customers which is exactly what I wanted. Finally, I have to say their support is great. I'm a non-tech plugin founder and they answer my (probably stupid) questions with grace, while providing really useful insights into where I can improve.
