It also allows me to tier my application. I also use freemius for marketing coupons and second chance deals to lure users into customers. ### 2. If you run into problems, the support is very quick and helpful. It's easily the best way to sell your own WordPress plugins. **What do you dislike about Freemius?** The checkout is (currently) only available in english. It looks a little bit unprofessional if you want to embed the checkout into your non-english website and the checkout is suddenly english. **What problems is Freemius solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us sell our plugins without worrying too much about managing licenses, accounts and payment processes. It does not take much time to implement Freemius into the plugin and the checkout to sell it on our own website. ### 5. It is a much easier experience than deploying and setting up WooCommerce Software or Easy Digital Downloads. **What do you dislike about Freemius?** Freemius pricing model takes between 17-25% on your first $5,000 in sales. This is a sizeable percentage of each sale initially after launching your plugin, while it does drop to 5% following your first $5,000 in sales, much more in line with payment processing type fees, but from that initial $5,000, they take around $1,200. They also hold your sales from paying you out until 60 days after the sale was made. **Recommendations to others considering Freemius:** Make sure you know about the pricing model and payout delays. **What problems is Freemius solving and how is that benefiting you?** Checkout and licensing are just so easy with Freemius, injunction with their Multisite licensing capabilities to allow Multisite networks to use a license key automatically on each subsite when it is created. ### 6. Automatically separate free and paid versions when you deploy the code. **What do you dislike about Freemius?** 1. The fact that 7% of fees they charge is on top of Payment gateway fees. So you end up paying a lot more than advertised. 2. Even basic reports are missing. Such as being able to see monthly revenue statistics in a specific period. 3. You are not able to customize emails. Forget about sending custom email campaigns to users. 4. Over branding everywhere. They stick their logos at every step of the journey - in a way this is intrusive. **What problems is Freemius solving and how is that benefiting you?** We sell WordPress plugin subscription with this platform. I like the fact that the platform handles product subscriptions nicely. ### 7. The integration process is very straightforward, and can be integrated easily into any plugin's codebase. **What do you dislike about Freemius?** There were a few corner-cases I ran into while using the product - a customer was sent an erroneous email, a version number breaking a feature. To their credit, I contacted support and they were on it. Each issue was fixed quickly! **What problems is Freemius solving and how is that benefiting you?** It would have taken much too long to create a custom WordPress plugin billing system.
