Freemake is a free tool having many things to like. It supports multiple formats like MP4, MKV, AVI etc., allowing seamless conversions between them. It has support for basic video editing options like cropping, trimming, adding subtitles etc. It also has the option to download videos from popular platforms like youtube facebook etc. It is a good package for someone who has to do light video editing. Some things that I dont like about freemake: it's revenue is generated through ads, which can be irritating at times. Also, advance features are lacking, with occassional crasher and performance issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Freemake has a ton of different file formats, as well as built in editing tools to correct aspect ratios, shorten length, and so forth. They have some good guides online and it was a breeze to get started after downloading the product.

You can even save your favorite export settings so can be ready to go each time you need to convert something. This makes it easy to select your presets for different jobs, be it portrait or landscape, higher resolution, etc. You can even suggest a size for freemake to save each file, though it commonly ends up even smaller for me.

Freemake tends to need to run on it's own recently with me, though I admit my PC is older and could be the issue. If I try to run it in the background while doing other tasks, it crashes.

I encourage you to try on a newer machine if you have one before letting this make a decision for you.

The customization of your video clip duration and even the codec settings is covered totally under this product. The best part is the file size compression or file size control functionality which was really unique and comes really handy for fast renders and quick previews.
