Also, advance features are lacking, with occassional crasher and performance issues. **What problems is Freemake solving and how is that benefiting you?** I usually need to casually edit videos, and using a full fledged video editor for this purpose was an overkill and with more features, editors becomes complicated to use and handle. So, it has been very beneficial for me. It has user friendly UI and less features, making it perfect for my use. ### 2. They have some good guides online and it was a breeze to get started after downloading the product. You can even save your favorite export settings so can be ready to go each time you need to convert something. This makes it easy to select your presets for different jobs, be it portrait or landscape, higher resolution, etc. You can even suggest a size for freemake to save each file, though it commonly ends up even smaller for me. It runs very fast, especially if you ever tried online options before. **What do you dislike about Freemake?** Freemake tends to need to run on it's own recently with me, though I admit my PC is older and could be the issue. If I try to run it in the background while doing other tasks, it crashes. I encourage you to try on a newer machine if you have one before letting this make a decision for you. It also asks to run a lot of updates, but that's never been a big issue for me. **Recommendations to others considering Freemake:** I used to use the free version, but recently upgraded to the paid version and found it to be an easier experience. Worth considering as it's a lifetime license. Be sure you check the presets and check to rotate the video if using portrait. It's easy to do, but commonly with convert your video sideways if you don't double check. **What problems is Freemake solving and how is that benefiting you?** #1 is compressing files. It is not always easy to compress your video files, so I can take longer files from my phone, change to mp4 (or whatever type I want), and compress to a much more manageable size. #2 Easier to use files. Also I am able to convert files from say landscape, or trim the ends of files, very easily and quickly. ### 8. After purchasing 1 week license I was charged for full license, plus they were going to charge my PayPal account every 3 years. Crashes when I convert a 3Gig 1920 x 1080 video file to a lower resolution (regardless of video format). This is occurs on 2 of my computers incl a 1 year old Lenovo Core i7 with 16G.. I asked for a refund (a measly $5), and they want me to correspond with them trying to debug why this is happening.. SORRY my time preoccupied with YOUR DEBUG is worth MUCH MORE than the $5 purchase fee.. So don't waste my time, and give me my refund.. But they are now bringing up Terms that say I have to partake in debugs before a refund.. GIMME A BREAK, it's only $5, not worth my time or your negative publicity.. (and here we are) Stop trying to use your customers as a debug team, esp when they don't want to solve the problem (for you), but would rather get on with their working day (which is what the software was bought for).. **Recommendations to others considering Freemake:** Freemake Customer Service presumes the customer is "out to get them".. **What problems is Freemake solving and how is that benefiting you?** None. For example, if I need to convert an hour of video from Windows Media Video format to MP4 format, it does so satisfactorily and without losing any quality. It allows working with a multitude of formats such as AVI, WMV, Apple, DVD, MPEG, MP4, and many more. It also allows working with MP3 format by converting the sound if desired. The interface is very simple and easy, anyone with little knowledge of this type of software can easily carry out their production work. **What do you dislike about Freemake?** There are some things that need to be improved in Freemake, such as the conversion time when the files are very large and contain many minutes of duration; the conversion can become slow if working with low-resource equipment.
