The major part it is solving is the uncontrolled spending of the company and inefficient purchasing which can cause a huge loss to the company when done on a larger scale. There is nothing to like about this software from a user experience. As the IT professional, I was responsible for the rollout to our company. In theory, this is supposed to be an easy way for the entire organization to manage procurement. In practice, due to terrible user interface and flow design, it hurt our company. IT had to issue pages upon pages of user guides, which the end users would tape all over their offices and cubicle simply to add requests. Approvers had to do the same thing. This is because the workflows and user interface are so bad. The finance department spent way too much of their time trying to fix things. Eventually, we had to pull back the deployment and hire a new person on the finance team to put in all the requests -- which was precisely what the salespeople told us we would not need to do.
