"Good app for video recording"
4/5
What do you like best about FRAPS?

This application is very useful to perform performance tests in full screen applications such as video games or synthetic tests, the application is very simple to use and has 3 basic functionalities that are video recording, capture screens and benchmark.

The video recordings are made in mp4 format and with codec h264 and without loss of video by compression since the video is saved without being compressed which affects the size of this and not its quality. By not having compression it is possible to perform live steaming without loss of quality in the video.

The screenshot is very simple and needs hardly any explanation, by configuring a shortcut we can capture the screen inside a game or opengl application and it will be saved automatically in the FRAPS directory by default. As soon as the benchmark simply shows us the frames per second, also called FPS that produces the application that is being executed at this moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

The application is so simple that it is difficult to find something negative, once you buy the license everything works as expected and except the price of the license itself that could be cheaper to say something, the rest is fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great software to capture gaming videos"
4.5/5
What do you like best about FRAPS?

Fraps is an application to capture video that I use especially for gaming or benchmark test in my work since the application's ability to capture directx and openGL windows (also works with vulkan) is very accurate unlike other applications that you must configure and waste time, with fraps it works with hardly any configuration.

You can also record the software and use the full screen on the screen that we indicate in the configuration, in addition we can apply a separation of the video file in parts whenever it reaches a size of 4 gb. Another important feature that can help the video to be lighter is not to allow audio recording by default.

From the same window that we wish to record it is possible to start or stop the recording through a hotkey or shortcut previously assigned in the application, it is also possible to do this with the FPS counter that we can see live and that measures the performance of the application. What do you dislike about FRAPS?

Video recording should allow some more configuration such as video compression or quality reduction so that the resulting video files are much smaller. It also has a bug in which if you open the fraps application after starting the game or benchmark that you want to record it does not detect it correctly, so you must close and reopen it. "Essential tool for video recording and streaming"
5/5
What do you like best about FRAPS?

In my experience as a user of FRAPS what I have found to be the most useful of the application is the performance test that allows me to check the power of my computer through benchmarks that measure the quality of my GPU and CPU thanks to the FPS ( frame per second).

In terms of its interface, FRAPS does not stand out because of an updated or aesthetically very nice interface, but rather has a simple and intuitive interface in which it is not overloaded with useless options but simply shows those options necessary for the user.

In the video recording has a feature that allows you to cut large videos in different files to avoid reaching the limit of the FAT32 file system so in this case the limit is just under 4GB. It is also possible to take screenshots using the appropriate shortcut for this action. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

The interface of FRAPS is very outdated and has not been fixed in the updates of the application, which are not very common either. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Get's the work done"
3/5
What do you like best about FRAPS?

Super simple, super easy. There's no other way to describe it, as it takes the screen recording and makes it really simple to work with, just a few clicks and you're all set up to record anything you need. Quite easy and fast to keep track of the files generated on it and can manage it's overlay without problems Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

The program has aged and you can notice it... It does the job but there are many other programs that can do a better job out there already, it could. OBS as example as a more precise control over a few things that FRAPS doesn't even consider Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing software for game recording!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about FRAPS?

Love how easy to use FRAPS is, and how quick you can start recording gameplay with very little knowledge of the software. FRAPS gives you so many options when recording that it makes it super easy to produce content for the appropriate platform that you will be distributing to! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

Not a fan of how it can slow your computer/game down substantially. But it is a pretty powerful program so it's understandable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and Easy"
4.5/5
What do you like best about FRAPS?

Install it and it works. Not much to it. The FPS only pops up when you have a game running and it always stays within the window. Never intrusive or in the way. I normally forget I even have it installed until I start using a graphical application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

I didn't like the font/color at first, but it grows on you. It's designed like that to always pop out in a subtle way, which it does fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

The updates could be more frequent. I experience FPS recording lag on multiple computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Don't expect any great free service here"

What do you like best about FRAPS?

It gets the job done of screen recording and allows you to do what is needed. Good for getting audio in your videos too Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

It is very dated, the water marks ruin everything. It allows you to create mediocre productions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about FRAPS?

This program is great for people working with video and games to get a live view of how many FPS they are getting at any given time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FRAPS?

The UI could use some refreshing. That being said it still looks fine and helps with performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
