Foxit stands out because it is one of the PDF readers that takes the least time to load files. In a PDF, besides reading, we will be able to make small edits that other alternatives do not allow, such as making highlights, small notes, and simple drawings. There are versions for Windows and for different Linux distros (Debian, Red Hat, and Ubuntu). There is a version for desktop PCs, tablets, and smartphones. You can set security levels in a document. Compatible with Evernote, Drie, and ONeDrie to be able to share your files in the cloud. It is a lightweight application that takes up almost no space. **What do you dislike about Foxit PDF Reader?** It cannot read files with the PDX extension. Lately, a digital signature in PDF documents is very necessary, and in this regard, this program fails by not including it. Let's hope that in future versions they add this option. There has been some blocking issue at times. To install, the download file from the official website requires connecting to the servers to download the complete program during installation, and it doesn't go very fast. **Recommendations to others considering Foxit PDF Reader:** It's free and has nothing to envy about Adobe Acrobat Reader. However the most practical feature for me is that I am able to store my signature so that I can electronically sign documents. To sign documents without printing and scanning, and without needing to upload to an electronic signature service is a highly practical and time saving feature as I need to sign documents on a daily basis. **What do you dislike about Foxit PDF Reader?** I like most features about this program, the only thing that could be improved is the ability to extract a page from a PDF. My workaround is that I can selectively "print to PDF" but it's a little more cumbersome than a simple "extract page" tool. I also wish the default "Save As" took me to a local folder on my computer instead of Foxit Drive, but it's noting more than one more click. **Recommendations to others considering Foxit PDF Reader:** If you need a program for basic editing of your PDF files, including form filling and adding your signature, this one is for you. A functional program at the cost of "free" is a great program. This program accomplishes that task very well without needing to print, complete by hand, and then re-scan the documents. This feature I have not ever seen it in another tool like this one. Also, you can create and import signs from others sites and includes in the PDF for digital signs in order to send it through the digital way. Another interesting thing is that you can connect Foxit reader with other apps like Evernote, then you can pass and copy your daily notes from there. **What do you dislike about Foxit PDF Reader?** I think that this tool is my preferred PDF reader, and I think that there only a few things that I don't Like, and one of these ones is the fact that Foxit reader does not support 3D models in PDF format. After trying out a few options, I settled on Foxit. The large selection of tablet-friendly annotation options and the absence of invasive, clunky toolbars/sidebars made this software the ideal choice for me. **What do you dislike about Foxit PDF Reader?** My biggest complaint is that one has to manually close out of the annotation options in order to get back into selection/scroll mode. It would be helpful to be able to select highlight, highlight something, and then be able to scroll, but all other functionality is disabled while highlight (and other annotation options) are enabled. Even putting the scroll/move button in the same toolbar as annotation would be a plus, so I don't keep having to 'x' out of annotations, scroll, reselect annotations, reselect highlight, 'x' out to scroll, etc. as I'm moving through the PDF. **What problems is Foxit PDF Reader solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need to parse through and annotate a large quantity of scientific papers quickly for my work/research. Foxit provides an efficient way to handle these large quantities in a comfortable user interface, especially with the sidebar that lets you quickly switch between recently used PDFs. The design is quite similar to Acrobat and easy to figure out even for a new user.
