Our whole trade team relies on Webdocs to gather every cross-border compliance file in one protected location—customs declarations, supplier origin docs, EU VAT forms and full audit trails no longer sit across shared drives or local laptops. Its version control and region-specific compliance tagging are a standout fit for GoBD and GDPR rules; sorting trade paperwork for audits takes a fraction of the time it used to. Granular access controls let us lock confidential shipment data from junior staff while letting overseas suppliers view only their relevant certificates, and auto-alerts for expiring paperwork save us from costly customs holds. The biggest pain point is no direct link to Germany’s ATLAS customs system. We have to manually retype document data between platforms, which creates avoidable entry errors and compliance exposure. Offline access is extremely limited, so our logistics field team struggles to pull files abroad with spotty connectivity. There aren’t pre-built tag templates for TARIC codes or GoBD audit logs, forcing our compliance team to manually adjust metadata on every new upload. What problems is Webdocs solving and how is that benefiting you? Before Webdocs, our trade paperwork was spread across desktops and shared folders, creating constant delays clearing shipments and huge stress ahead of official audits. The single secure repository eliminates lost or misplaced import/export documents, while version tracking stops us accidentally submitting expired supplier paperwork to customs. Every file access leaves a traceable audit log that satisfies German data retention laws, and automated expiration notifications cut supply chain downtime and unexpected customs fines. EU-resident storage fully aligns with DSGVO and BSI IT-Grundschutz, which is non-negotiable for our network audit submissions. Role-locked access prevents unauthorized staff from viewing sensitive device configurations, and permanent version logs serve as mandatory audit evidence. There’s no native connection to our network monitoring stack, forcing weekly CSV exports. Export encoding corrupts German umlauts on device and client labels, bulk archive downloads drag, and there are no ready-made templates built for BSI network compliance paperwork. In terms of positives, Webdocs is a very useful tool. It streamlines the process and the ease of use and implementation is super helpful and welcomed. In terms of things I dislike about Webdocs, I'd say on certain occasions it has a tendency to be very slow in terms of loading documents especially when dealing with a larger file/document.
