For the moment with the manufacturer fortinet I had no problems when carrying out the load balancing. The load balancing of FortiGate products within a company is beneficial if you have more than one Internet provider, as all SD-WAN is responsible for balancing the routes of outputs to the Internet.

It is essential to implement strategies of multiple routes to the Internet within a company that is constantly accessing services in the cloud and that it is vital that the Internet service is never interrupted but rather that there is redundancy of the services already being accessed to a Cloud service or the company offer a product.

Within the FortiGate firewall, it is simple and easy to configure the SD-WAN, only the WAN ports must be configured and the load balancing algorithm must be chosen to suit the need.

These algorithms are by volume, by the number of sessions, by the consumed bandwidth (spillover), by ip of origin-destination and by ip of destination.

Each algorithm represents a unique configuration according to the needs of the company. SD-WAN is just a small part of FortiGate Firewalls by Fortinet and some of the thing I specifically like about its SD-WAN are:

1. Usage of Internet Service Database in SD-WAN rules for routing applications like O365, Microsoft Services, etc.

The performance is the main attribute of this software, that along with the Fortinet devices, allows the users to have a high quality audio and video experience, as well as in VPN data. WAN networks connections are limited only for Fortinet devices. When other devices are present, it is not possible to explore all the software characteristics. Other limitation is that it is most suitable for intermediate / advance users with excellent network knowledge, although it's easy to perform initial configurations of the software.
