"Reliable VPN + Strong Endpoint Security in a Lightweight FortiClient"
4.5/5
What do you like best about FortiClient?

What I like best about FortiClient is that it offers a reliable VPN and strong endpoint security in one lightweight, easy-to-manage client, especially when integrated with FortiGate for centralized control and Zero Trust access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiClient?

What I dislike about FortiClient is that it can sometimes feel overly complex to configure, especially when advanced features like ZTNA or EMS policies are involved, and troubleshooting issues isn’t always intuitive. The client can also be resource-intensive on older devices, and updates or version mismatches may cause occasional connectivity or compatibility problems for end users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"FortiClient: Seamless Security, Easy Setup, and Reliable VPN & Endpoint Protection"
5/5
What do you like best about FortiClient?

What I like most about FortiClient is how smoothly it combines ease of use with strong security features, so day-to-day protection feels seamless instead of burdensome. The implementation is straightforward, and it integrates well with existing systems, which means I spend less time configuring settings and more time focusing on working securely. Its broad set of features—from VPN to endpoint protection—has been reliable for frequent use, and customer support is responsive whenever I need guidance. Overall, it comes across as a tool built to fit naturally into real-world workflows without adding unnecessary complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiClient?

What I dislike about FortiClient is that it can sometimes feel heavy on system resources, especially during full scans, and that can slow performance for a while. The interface is functional, but it doesn’t feel particularly modern or intuitive compared to newer competitors, so finding and navigating the more advanced settings can take extra effort. I also feel that its strongest features really shine when it’s paired with the broader Fortinet ecosystem, which means standalone users may find it less flexible or even a bit overwhelming. Lastly, some updates occasionally require reconfiguration, which can interrupt what is otherwise a smooth day-to-day experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable VPN with Quick Setup, Needs Better Error Feedback"
3.5/5
What do you like best about FortiClient?

I like FortiClient because it has a quick one-click connection and is very fast, typically taking just a few seconds to connect. It's very stable and doesn't lag or drop the connection once connected. It has a friendly user interface and is lightweight, staying in the background, which allows me to work without any issues. I can trust it not to lose speed or cause lag while I'm working. The initial setup is great; it only takes a second with my email and authentication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiClient?

I don't like the vague error messages when the connection fails. It just gives a generic error code like 'unable to establish VPN connection,' which is frustrating. It would be better to have more 'human-readable' messages, maybe something like 'connection failed at %40. It looks like there is a security certification pop-up waiting for your click.' "Lightweight, Secure, and Seamlessly Integrated Endpoint Protection"
4.5/5
What do you like best about FortiClient?

What I appreciate most about FortiClient is its lightweight design and the way it combines secure VPN, AI-powered antivirus, and web filtering into a single agent. Its seamless integration with FortiGate and EMS allows for centralized management and provides real-time visibility into remote endpoints. The ZTNA tunnels, which support split-tunneling and multi-factor authentication, ensure dependable remote access even on unstable connections. Additionally, the next-generation antivirus is effective at detecting zero-day malware, and features like USB controls and the application firewall help further minimize potential attack surfaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiClient?

FortiClient has several notable drawbacks, including VPN connections that are unreliable and tend to drop frequently, especially on unstable networks. The user interface feels clunky and is prone to freezing, while error messages are often vague, making troubleshooting more difficult. Upgrading the software can disrupt telemetry services, which then requires manual reconfiguration. Additionally, the free version is missing important features such as comprehensive antivirus support. The setup process can be overly complicated for users without technical expertise, and at times, it unexpectedly blocks access to the local network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable VPN with Strong Security, Needs UI Improvements"
3.5/5
What do you like best about FortiClient?

I like FortiClient for its reliable and secure VPN connectivity along with strong endpoint security. It integrates seamlessly with FortiGate, making site-to-site and remote access management simple. The client is stable, easy to deploy, and consistently provides secure access while enforcing security policies without impacting user productivity. The initial setup was straightforward, and deployment to users was quick and stable with minimal issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiClient?

FortiClient works well overall, but the user interface could be more intuitive and lighter on system resources. VPN connection troubleshooting messages are sometimes not very clear. Client upgrades can occasionally cause compatibility issues. Reporting and logs could be more user-friendly, and deployment could be simpler with smoother version upgrades and better documentation. I often use it for browser filtering, endpoint security, and secure VPN connection. What do you dislike about FortiClient?

On older devices, FortiClient might occasionally seem like it uses a lot of system resources, leading to slowdowns. Troubleshooting VPN problems might be difficult, and the UI is not very user-friendly. Both users and IT administrators find maintenance more difficult when there are sporadic update difficulties and compatibility concerns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast and Easy Tool for Connecting Securely"
3.5/5
What do you like best about FortiClient?

The best part about this is how it transforms my laptop into secure "always-on" extensions of the office network without requiring me to manage different security apps. The VPN connection is incredibly fast to establish and i never have to be worry about manual security updates as the system handles them in the background. It is very easy to install and doesn't require much training before using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
