## FortiClient Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable and Secure VPN for Everyday Remote Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric . | Customer Onboarding and Support Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I like most about FortiClient VPN is its reliability and strong security prioritization. Once the IT team has configured it, connecting to the company network is simple, consistent, and easy to repeat on a day-to-day basis. The client feels stable overall, and I rarely run into unexpected disconnects. I also appreciate how well it integrates with Fortinet’s security ecosystem, which gives me added confidence that my data is encrypted and protected. From a user perspective, it does its job in the background without noticeably slowing down my system.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

The initial setup and configuration can be a bit confusing for end users, especially when the IT instructions aren’t very detailed. At times, the interface feels somewhat technical and not as user-friendly as some consumer VPNs. Additionally, connection issues can occur if the network changes or the internet quality drops, which may necessitate reconnecting. Overall, these are minor inconveniences and are usually easy to resolve.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient VPN provides secure remote access to internal company systems and resources. Before I started using it, working remotely felt less secure and more fragmented. With FortiClient VPN, I can safely connect to internal tools, servers, and applications from outside the office without worrying about data exposure. It has made remote work smoother, helped me stay aligned with company security policies, and given me peace of mind when handling sensitive information. Overall, it’s a dependable VPN solution that supports a secure, flexible work environment.

  ### 2. FortiClient excellent for secure remote work connecting to work systems.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn B. | Applications System Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2021

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

For several years now, we’ve had 10 discretionary remote work days per year, along with several set, company-wide remote work days. Many of our systems require us to log in to FortiClient in order to access them from home. Our company chose this software to create a secure connection to our work systems, and it’s been essential for remote access. I also provide after-hours support, so I still rely on it when I need to connect from home outside of normal hours. I really like how straightforward it is: I log in to FortiClient and I’m quickly connected in a secure way. Every few years we replace our laptops and FORTICLIENT installs easily on the newer replacement laptop. Our desktop support team is able to help us without having to contact FORTICLIENT Customer Support.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

I have not encountered a dislike, if I lose connection; I can quickly log in again.

**Recommendations to others considering FortiClient:**

FortiClient is easy to use and I have never had any problems. I have never had to contact support. There are very few software items I can say I never had problems with. I have been using this tool for several years now. I on my second work laptop using this software.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to access secure systems from home that I otherwise would not be able to perform. My support is seamless regardless of whether I am on my company systems in-office or remote from home.

  ### 3. Review for Forticlient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** PAWAN K. | Mr., Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

FortiClient helps keep both my data and computer secure, making it an excellent tool for enhancing security. It is easy to install, and offers valuable features such as centralized management, a user-friendly interface, and FortiToken. Whenever I have needed assistance, FortiClient has provided outstanding customer support. I use it daily to connect to my database, and the latest updated version is running very smoothly.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

Sometimes the connection gets disconnected after reaching above 90%, and there is no information provided about what went wrong. Occasionally, when I click to disconnect, there is a noticeable delay before the process completes. Additionally, the saved user ID is sometimes removed automatically.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a database user in a financial organization, I am responsible for handling a great deal of sensitive information, and Forticlient helps ensure a secure connection. Each time I disconnect and reconnect, it prompts me for a FortiToken code after I enter my password, so only authorized users are able to gain access. Since implementing the Forticlient system, we feel confident about the security of our organization's information.

  ### 4. Reliable VPN + Strong Endpoint Security in a Lightweight FortiClient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sairaja S. | Junior engineer for BISSELL, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I like best about FortiClient is that it offers a reliable VPN and strong endpoint security in one lightweight, easy-to-manage client, especially when integrated with FortiGate for centralized control and Zero Trust access.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

What I dislike about FortiClient is that it can sometimes feel overly complex to configure, especially when advanced features like ZTNA or EMS policies are involved, and troubleshooting issues isn’t always intuitive. The client can also be resource-intensive on older devices, and updates or version mismatches may cause occasional connectivity or compatibility problems for end users

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient solves the problem of secure remote access and endpoint control by providing a single agent for VPN connectivity, device posture checks, and endpoint protection. This benefits me by simplifying secure access for users, reducing the number of security tools to manage, improving visibility into endpoint health, and ensuring that only compliant devices can connect to the network, which strengthens overall security while lowering administrative overhead.

  ### 5. FortiClient: Seamless Security, Easy Setup, and Reliable VPN & Endpoint Protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dharmik V. | Associate Engineer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I like most about FortiClient is how smoothly it combines ease of use with strong security features, so day-to-day protection feels seamless instead of burdensome. The implementation is straightforward, and it integrates well with existing systems, which means I spend less time configuring settings and more time focusing on working securely. Its broad set of features—from VPN to endpoint protection—has been reliable for frequent use, and customer support is responsive whenever I need guidance. Overall, it comes across as a tool built to fit naturally into real-world workflows without adding unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

What I dislike about FortiClient is that it can sometimes feel heavy on system resources, especially during full scans, and that can slow performance for a while. The interface is functional, but it doesn’t feel particularly modern or intuitive compared to newer competitors, so finding and navigating the more advanced settings can take extra effort. I also feel that its strongest features really shine when it’s paired with the broader Fortinet ecosystem, which means standalone users may find it less flexible or even a bit overwhelming. Lastly, some updates occasionally require reconfiguration, which can interrupt what is otherwise a smooth day-to-day experience.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient helps address the challenge of keeping remote connections secure while also protecting devices from everyday cyber threats. By bringing VPN access, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management together in one platform, it removes the need to juggle multiple tools. For me, that means secure access is simpler and more consistent, there’s less downtime from potential attacks, and my system stays compliant without requiring extra effort. In day-to-day use, it feels like a single, unified solution that supports productivity while also providing peace of mind.

  ### 6. Lightweight, Secure, and Seamlessly Integrated Endpoint Protection

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco D. | Senior Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I appreciate most about FortiClient is its lightweight design and the way it combines secure VPN, AI-powered antivirus, and web filtering into a single agent. Its seamless integration with FortiGate and EMS allows for centralized management and provides real-time visibility into remote endpoints. The ZTNA tunnels, which support split-tunneling and multi-factor authentication, ensure dependable remote access even on unstable connections. Additionally, the next-generation antivirus is effective at detecting zero-day malware, and features like USB controls and the application firewall help further minimize potential attack surfaces.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

FortiClient has several notable drawbacks, including VPN connections that are unreliable and tend to drop frequently, especially on unstable networks. The user interface feels clunky and is prone to freezing, while error messages are often vague, making troubleshooting more difficult. Upgrading the software can disrupt telemetry services, which then requires manual reconfiguration. Additionally, the free version is missing important features such as comprehensive antivirus support. The setup process can be overly complicated for users without technical expertise, and at times, it unexpectedly blocks access to the local network.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient effectively tackles endpoint security gaps, malware risks, and unsafe remote access by integrating unified VPN, AI-powered antivirus, and web filtering. This combination ensures smooth corporate connectivity, centralized management through EMS, and swift threat mitigation, which helps streamline IT operations and prevent breaches, especially in environments with extensive firewall use.

The client is stable, easy to deploy, and consistently provides secure access while enforcing security policies without impacting user productivity. The initial setup was straightforward, and deployment to users was quick and stable with minimal issues.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

FortiClient works well overall, but the user interface could be more intuitive and lighter on system resources. VPN connection troubleshooting messages are sometimes not very clear. Client upgrades can occasionally cause compatibility issues. Reporting and logs could be more user-friendly, and deployment could be simpler with smoother version upgrades and better documentation.

  ### 34. Secure, Stable, and Easy to Manage

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laxman K. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I like best about FortiClient is how smoothly it integrates with other Fortinet security products. It provides reliable protection against malware and keeps network access secure through its built-in VPN feature. The interface is clean and simple, making it easy to use even for non-technical users. I also appreciate that it runs quietly in the background without slowing down my system. Overall, it gives a strong sense of security with minimal effort.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

While FortiClient is very effective, it can sometimes feel a bit heavy on system resources during scans or updates. The VPN connection occasionally takes longer to establish, especially on slower networks. Updates also require frequent restarts, which can interrupt work at times. The user interface, while functional, could be made a bit more modern and responsive. Overall, these are minor issues compared to its strong security performance.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient solves the problem of securing endpoints and ensuring safe network access, especially for remote work. It protects devices from malware, viruses, and other cyber threats while providing a reliable VPN for secure connections. This helps our team work safely from anywhere without worrying about data breaches. It also simplifies managing security across multiple devices, saving time and reducing IT overhead. Overall, it keeps our systems protected and operations smooth.

  ### 35. FortiClient good performance and friendly GUI for end users.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerardo H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2023

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

You can enforce all your policies from your FortiGate to end users through FortiClient, you don't need to install additional secure apps, you have all in one app, NDM, 2FA, VPN and ZeroTrust Access. Performance and troubleshooting tools are top of the line, few VPN clients offer such kind of details when you collect logs. FortiClient is silent and don't impact on the performance of your computer.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

There are few points of improvement, but I would add possibility to include Profiling on VPN connecitons, like configure XML files locally.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using FortiClient in our security suite for zero trust access and policy enforment, with FortiClient we have plenty visibility of workstations since their network interfaces to 2FA and antimalware protection. FortiClient is a fundamental part of the security suite because It brings us visibility in the entry point of threat: "the user". Once we have visbility, policy and compliance security rules are added to each profile.

  ### 36. FortiClient is a fast and easy to use VPN client

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

FortiClient has a clean and easy-to-use interface. In addition to VPN access, it provides Zero Trust Telemetry, which is important for ensuring security. The telemetry feature is centrally managed, so it allows our infrastructure team to have full control.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

Not much to dislike as it is a relatively simple piece of software. We have the paid version, but the free version also provides good functionality. The only thing that I might consider a negative is a compatibility with Mac OS. Some versions were incompatible with the latest Mac OS at the time, and it took me a while to reconfigure with the right version.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient provides an easy-to-use VPN. This allows me to securely access my workplace network, even when working remotely. Our network is more secure because we require users to connect via VPN.
