**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I like best about FortiClient is how smoothly it integrates with other Fortinet security products. It provides reliable protection against malware and keeps network access secure through its built-in VPN feature. The interface is clean and simple, making it easy to use even for non-technical users. I also appreciate that it runs quietly in the background without slowing down my system. Overall, it gives a strong sense of security with minimal effort.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

While FortiClient is very effective, it can sometimes feel a bit heavy on system resources during scans or updates. The VPN connection occasionally takes longer to establish, especially on slower networks. Updates also require frequent restarts, which can interrupt work at times. The user interface, while functional, could be made a bit more modern and responsive. Overall, these are minor issues compared to its strong security performance.

  ### 33. Easy to configure vpn client

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayden D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

Very user friendly interface, pretty straight forward.
Doesn't take long to set up and integrate, if there's any issues, there's a ton of guides online on the fortinet cookbook that go in detail.
Support has always been quick and effective, I've personally had three issues over the years and the issue was always resolved on the same day. (Though we do own the fortigate firewalls so we had access to premium support)
You don't have to pay for the vpn client, it connects on the free version as long as you have a fortigate router.
Back up and restorable configs for ease of distribution.

I utilize forticlient on a daily basis and it blows all other client's I've used out of the water (Especially the windows vpn client)

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

To access some features, you do need to get the paid client but even then all the settings you need are available on the free version.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The forticlient allows us to connect to our fortigates vpn very easily and we are able to track everything through the fortigate's logs.
Backup and restorable configs THAT DO NOT GET CORRUPTED EVERY FEW MONTHS really improve our lives.

  ### 34. FortiClient good performance and friendly GUI for end users.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerardo H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2023

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

You can enforce all your policies from your FortiGate to end users through FortiClient, you don't need to install additional secure apps, you have all in one app, NDM, 2FA, VPN and ZeroTrust Access. Performance and troubleshooting tools are top of the line, few VPN clients offer such kind of details when you collect logs. FortiClient is silent and don't impact on the performance of your computer.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

There are few points of improvement, but I would add possibility to include Profiling on VPN connecitons, like configure XML files locally.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using FortiClient in our security suite for zero trust access and policy enforment, with FortiClient we have plenty visibility of workstations since their network interfaces to 2FA and antimalware protection. FortiClient is a fundamental part of the security suite because It brings us visibility in the entry point of threat: "the user". Once we have visbility, policy and compliance security rules are added to each profile.

  ### 35. Very competitive VPN client for end users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naveed A. | Infrastructure Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

I like how easy it is configured. We don't need to add many details to set up our vpn connection to our domain controller. We have an option to minimize the certificate that is shared by server.
Setting up a VPN is easy, you dont need anything other than Public IP, credentials and port allowed for connection. it connects in no time and services come up real quick.
Notification option is really awesome about updates done by the software or required by the software.
It provides an alert automatically when there is one available.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

Sometimes VPN doesn't work and you have to reboot your machine. there is weird bug in this software that doesn't allow to run VPN for longer time.
VPN should disconnect itself when machine is on sleep mode but it keep connected , but doesn't work.

**Recommendations to others considering FortiClient:**

Please give it a try if you are looking for options to connect ot domain via vpn. Forticlient has a really easy user interfaces. You can use this for virus scanning of your machine as well. Speed at which this vpn works is something that stands out against other clients out there.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using this software to connect to our domain while working from home. Speed at which it connects to company private network is really commendable. Vulnerability scan of this software provides a view into malware or virus installed in background.
I can help my users while working from home.

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

Our company uses FortiClient for VPN access. I like that the software seamlessly launches at startup, and primarily lives in the system tray, allowing for easy control at all times. Within seconds of logging into my local workstation, I'm able to right-click the FortiClient icon in the tray, and connect to our VPN. It really is as easy as that.

If you ever do need to actually open the program's UI, it is very clean and simple, with easy access to all of the features that you may need as a user. I use FortiClient for 8+ hours every day, and I rarely have issues with the connection slowing or dropping out.

A VPN client is best when it simply works with no interruption to the user, and I can confidently say that FortiClient does this the vast majority of the time.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

On the other hand, when FortiClient doesn't work, it can be frustrating to get it back into service. For example, there have been times where my VPN refuses to connect. I've learned that this isn't an issue with our VPN, and instead an issue with the FortiClient software.

To rectify this, I usually just restart the software and/or my local workstation, but it can still be frustrating while in the middle of working on a project.

Again, this doesn't happen often (maybe twice a month, when using it for 40+ hour work weeks), but it occurs just enough to be a point of minor frustration.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company is primarily remote, which means that we require a software solution to easily and securely access our VPN. FortiClient allows us to do this, while also providing proactive network protection to ensure that we achieve optimal network quality and uptime.

Forticlient helps me to safely establish a connection through which I can easily access company network from anywhere in the world remotely.
Forticlient also scans for malicious activities and vulnerabilities to make the connection safe and private.
It allows me to configure more than one vpn connection at a time although only one can be used at a time. It is easy to implement on the systems which requires very less time.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

It doesn't allows to connect to more than one vpn at a time.
It frequently disconnects from the network whenever it is left connected for a long time.
