Conversion happens once, server-side, and the output runs in any modern browser with no plugins, Adobe Reader or other software on the user’s device. Existing PDF forms move into web and mobile applications without being rebuilt by hand, and they keep their appearance, fields and logic. FormVu runs on your own servers with no external callbacks and no internet connection required, so form data never leaves your infrastructure. Key features: - Browser support across all modern browsers with no plugins, with the original appearance and interaction preserved. - Data extraction that pulls filled form data from a pre-filled PDF as JSON in a single API call. - Deployment from the command line for bulk conversion, from Java, or as a self-hosted web service with a REST API callable from JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby and other languages. A hosted cloud service is also available. - Form fields including checkboxes, dropdowns, radio buttons, signature fields and text inputs, which stay fully editable after conversion along with their logic and submission behaviour. - Form types covering AcroForm and XFA. - Pre-population of converted forms programmatically from existing data. - Security for regulated and confidential documents, with self-hosting that suits banking, government, healthcare and insurance deployments and GDPR-conscious environments. - Signature capture as an optional feature, letting users sign by drawing, typing their name or uploading an image without a separate e-sign tool. - Submission of form data as HTML, JSON, PDF (back into the original form) or XML, so it fits an existing pipeline without extra transformation. FormVu only converts interactive forms. For static PDFs, IDRsolutions’ BuildVu is the right tool. It’s used in education, finance, government, healthcare and logistics, typically where a workflow depends on legacy or mandated PDF forms that can’t simply be replaced. Support comes directly from the developers, who will work with customers on platform-specific requirements, and a free web converter lets you test your own forms before signing up.
