The functions allowed me to generate a document and then send it for signatures using Docusign. Without Formstack documents I would have just sent the form for signatures which doesn't serve my purpose. So, I like the fact that I am able to create a document as per my needs. **What do you dislike about Formstack Documents?** Setting up the documents while merging it with forms took a bit of back and forth with the support team. I'm pretty sure the setup could be made a bit more user friendly. As a nonprofit business, we create complimentary promotional marketing materials for our licensed accounts. In 2017, I received about 250 requests for these materials and I easily managed those requests. In 2018, I received over 1200 requests and found myself unable to complete other aspects of my job due to the time constraints of these requests. I initially implemented WebMerge so that these promotional materials could be automatically generated from the data entered on the Formstack form. I joked around that I was working myself out of a job (but I was really freeing myself up to dedicate time to other important projects). We then started integrating WebMerge into other forms we use on Formstack to reduce the need for data-entry. And now, WebMerge is considered a part-time employee of our business because we have delegated so many time-consuming tasks to the software platform. But, with that, came some pitfalls like creating documents automatically. I found WebMerge in the extensions list and didn't really even bother trying it before I knew... I knew it was going to do exactly what I needed! I contacted them and asked for some help and it was provided even after hours via email. Very impressed so far! **What do you dislike about Formstack Documents?** I do actually wish you could hand-type fields in a document to be merged instead of needing to do a full on merge first, but it's not the end of the world. Something similar to BBcode / shortcodes would be great to manually add into a quick document to be merged. If you are working with a Word doc, create your document, do a new mail merge and add your fields. Then just don't add anything to the merge info. It's difficult to grasp if you do mail merges a lot because you actually don't complete the process. You just create the fields, insert them, then save the document. WebMerge should be called MagicMerge because it is so friggin amazing. Before I even signed up, Jeremy spent an hour on the phone with me discussing the ins-and-outs of WebMerge. After I signed up, Jeremy spent an incredible amount of time getting me going with my 1st Document. I am not a computer person at all, so if I can do it, anyone can do it. WebMerge has a boat-load of resources and they respond almost instantly when I can't find what I am looking for. We have about 15 different merges set up now and have merged almost 1000 documents. But let me tell you the most fantastic part. The first Merge we set up was a standard trust document used at our law firm. We used to cut-and-paste information when we wanted to create a new document for a client. Between collecting the information from clients and creating the finalized document, the process took anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Now that we have our information set up in Gravity Forms and automatically delivered to WebMerge (via Zapier) the entire process takes less than 5 minutes. And, the mistakes from cutting-and-pasting are completely eliminated. Believe me when I say that clients do not appreciate getting a legal document with someone else's name buried in the 25th paragraph. Finally, In our situation (and certainly everyone else's situation as well) the cost of WebMerge pales in comparison to the amount of time/money we save creating documents.
