What I like most about Formly is how quickly I can create professional, user-friendly forms without needing technical or design expertise. The drag-and-drop builder is straightforward, and there is enough flexibility to customise the structure, branding and questions for different purposes. What do you dislike about Formly? The main drawback is that some of the more advanced settings and customisation options aren’t always immediately obvious. The core form builder itself is easy to use, but every so often I still have to spend time figuring out where a specific setting lives. What problems is Formly solving and how is that benefiting you? Formly helps me replace manual emails, documents and spreadsheets with structured online forms. I use it for enquiries, registrations and feedback, as well as more complex logic-based forms for audits and inspections. Conditional logic allows the form to adapt to each response, display relevant follow-up questions and avoid unnecessary fields. This makes audits and inspections more efficient, consistent and easier to complete. What I like most about Formly is that it makes survey creation simple while still providing enough flexibility for different types of projects. Getting started was easy, and I was able to create surveys without spending much time learning the platform. The overall setup feels straightforward and practical for day-to-day work. I also like the variety of question types available. Multiple choice questions, rating scales, text responses, file uploads, and opinion-based questions help me collect different kinds of information depending on the survey. This is useful when creating nutrition assessments, wellness surveys, and feedback forms for educational activities. The logic rules are one of the most useful features for me. They help keep surveys organized by showing relevant questions based on previous responses. Still early in testing, but one thing I noticed is that some onboarding/assessment flows can become slightly too long if not optimized well. In markets like coaching and lead generation, speed-to-start matters a lot, so reducing friction and clicks is important. I’ve mainly been testing it for coaches, consultants and service businesses that handle a lot of leads, DMs and client follow-up manually. The biggest benefit is reducing friction in workflows like qualification, onboarding, assessments and follow-up. What I like most about Formly are a few factors: I like that the forms themselves look a thousand times better than Google Forms, JotForm, and most other forms other than Gravity Forms and once you know how to properly set the forms up, they work, don't require you use a plugin, don't require you use an extra SMTP plugin to make it work, and can have pretty robust security to block spam as well. You can schedule meetings, accept payments, show videos, show images, use conditional logic for grading and routing messages, verify email addresses and use Google's reCaptcha. The ease of use is high once you've read a few tutorials. Customer support is good and the number of features is off the chain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Formly? I'd have to say what I disliked is that there needs to be more in-depth, specific, "how to" step-by-step tutorials for those who want to set up complex conditional logic routing for forms. Formly has alot of depth to it, so the more you offer users, the more we're going to need tutorials for how to implement those features. Step-by-step YouTube videos are ideal so I can see how a Formly developer actually sets up the feature. So far, there are tutorials on their site but I'd like to see more video walkthroughs for different case study examples since there is so much nuance to how you could use Formly. Doing that would make using it easier and reduce the learning curve. I'd also really want to see them add 2FA to their account dashboard for those of us not using Gmail. I use Formly to create and maintain multiple-use contact forms for two sites; one is a moderately-complex contact form with an emphasis on blocking spam submissions and I use a different form to offer a specific free giveaway on my site and will likely use Formly to create more, yet uniquely different forms for my site and my other site in the future. Formly solves a few problems for me as a mid-level developer: Previously I was using Divi's native contact form for WordPress sites but those forms would occassionally simply not send, especially on cheaper shared hosting plans and spam was impossible to prevent for whatever reasons. When I migrated my sites over to better hosting, the Divi contact form wouldn't work at all, and required an additional SMTP plugin to get it to work, which was still sporadic. So I switched to Google Forms, which looked unappealing and unprofessional and limited spam prevention features. JotForm was too expensive and still garish-looking. I tried Tally forms, but simply didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars to remove their branded logo; so when I discovered Formly I jumped at the chance to try them out and am glad I did. I'll probably use Formly in the future as well to offer surveys or quizzes on my site, once I tailor them to free giveaways or tie it toward other interests readers might have. The logic and conditional jumps are really important, and I find that these features are better than most form creators. One of the standout features is how easy it is to get started with Formly.
