I liked the ease with which it allows you to create websites as it gives you endless options to develop your creative side and unleash your imagination, you are the owner of your ideas and Format helps you make them come true. Other thing to note is that you don't need to have advanced programming knowledge since this system provides you with an intuitive environment so that you can create what you want with just a few clicks thanks to the graphic editor that integrates, the user just has to choose what they want to incorporate into its website and the software does the whole coding part for you. It does not allow the functions of edition if you connect by means of your smart phone lowering your productivity and preventing you from working outside a working environment and only making changes through its web application. There are optimization issues regarding the image upload mechanism that creates delays depending on the image format you want to use. Some templates feature monotone layouts so it can result in a repetitive page if you don't make significant changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Format: I can assure you that no matter what background the user who tries this tool has, will have no problem in getting the most out of it, I say this because the simplicity in which Format implements his workflow, giving everyone the opportunity to create the most beautiful portfolios of their work or articles whatever they may be without falling into major technical complications. I have long been looking for a platform to support you to show my work that I do all over the world photographing different scenarios and cities. Format offers great functionalities to create a portfolio website quickly and easily, as it does not have programming knowledge I thought it would be a problem to create what I had in mind but thanks to the graphic editor that has Format all my concerns faded, so I was able to work on web design without any technical problems. I love the ease and efficiency of being able to quickly uploads my work and know that it's going to be displayed perfectly in the ready made theme. What do you dislike about Format? I'd like a little more customisation options, especially for mobile considering many websites are built mobile first. Another small thing I'd like to see added on the proofing area is being able to see who has accessed the gallery. At the minute it only shows who's downloaded the images. No coding or html language to learn. Most of it is drag and drop. Creating galleries for clients is a breeze. Their customer service team is responsive and helpful. Setting up the SEO functionality can be a little confusing for a beginner. I also hope that Format will improve the look and feel of their gallery pages to keep up with their competitors. Format fits my purpose of being a photography portfolio website. The cheapest option allowed max 100 images, which was sufficient for a photography portfolio site. The inclusive templates were sufficient, though requires some thinking around to make the most out of them. The new templates are great. They compete well with Squarespace's selection. Customer service is also excellent. Always available to answer all of my questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Format? The dashboard and design settings change so frequently I can't ever remember how to edit my website. That's the most frustrating part. There are so many updates it's hard to keep up. I also use a program called Narrative to do my blogging for my business and I need to be able to upload HTML to the "blog" section of my site in order to use the back end SEO benefits that Narrative offers and Format doesn't allow this. It's very simple and straightforward, no-fuss way of displaying a photo portfolio. Easy to update content. Have never had problems with service or technical problems. Compared to similar platforms like Squarespace, Format seems very limited and basic. Haven't seen many (or any?) third party themes or tools that can be integrated.
