It delivers forecasts, real-time observations, weather map layers and environmental data over a REST/JSON interface, documented with an OpenAPI 3.0.3 specification at developer.foreca.com. Foreca is a Finnish weather company with over 30 years of forecasting experience, used in more than 180 countries and consistently ranked among the top three global weather forecast providers for accuracy. Forecasts combine more than 50 global and regional sources, including ECMWF, GFS and the UK Met Office, with Foreca's own nowcasting and post-processing. What the API covers: Point forecasts - current conditions, 15-minute, hourly, 3-hourly and daily forecasts up to 14 days ahead for any coordinate worldwide, plus location search and lookup. Weather maps - raster tile layers for radar, satellite, precipitation, cloudiness, temperature and wind, served as standard 256x256 PNG tiles that drop into any web map library. Air quality - global 3-day air quality index and pollutant forecasts with real-time observations where available. Pollen forecasts - species-level forecasts for alder, birch, grass, mugwort, olive and ragweed across Europe. Weather warnings - official alerts from national meteorological services worldwide, harmonised into a single unified feed. Marine weather - wave, sea temperature and tide forecasts for global waters. Weather history and climate data - past observations for any location and date, plus 1991-2020 climate normals for more than 150,000 locations. Hurricane tracker - live tropical cyclone and typhoon tracks, forecasts and intensity, updated every three to six hours. Agriculture and energy - field-level growing parameters, wind speed at turbine height and solar radiation forecasts. Ski weather - resort information, opening hours and reported slope conditions. Pricing is public and self-serve. A free trial gives 2,000 requests per day for 30 days with no credit card required. Paid plans start at EUR 99 per month for one million requests and scale to custom enterprise volumes, with a 99.5% SLA and business support from the Altocumulus tier upward. A Freemium tier is available for non-commercial use.
