"Game audio solution for music producers"
What do you like best about FMOD?

The interface is very similar to a DAW and therefore allowed me to delve into the game audio world with ease from a music production and composition background Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FMOD?

Lack of simple destructive editing options for audio assets. A normalise function and advanced trimming/cutting tools would prove extremely useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A professional audio engine and tools for games"
What do you like best about FMOD?

Having worked with on the programming side of FMOD for the past month , my favorite thing is the ability to delve deep into the low-level workings and implement it however you choose. A higher-level system is also provided, which also includes the ability to load sound banks created by your audio artists. These can also include events and triggers that allow a game to interact with the audio itself to change how it plays.

Another thing that grabbed my attention was that the tools included with the FMOD audio system are pretty much studio-grade. They're designed with professional audio artists in mind and allow various plugins to be added to add even more features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FMOD?

The one thing I've come to dislike about FMOD while working with it via C# is the wrapper. The C# wrapper is literally a direct conversion of the C++ API. While it makes interpreting the documentation a bit easier, barely any of the wrapper aligns with C# coding etiquette. One example would be that many of the enumerated values are fully capitalized and prefixed with various words. All of the structure types are capitalized too. Lastly, the way callbacks are handled in the C# wrapper require a bit of messy code to build around the lack of event handlers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
