Sometimes the geospatial data viewer can be glitchy, not displaying data, or laggy. Also, when trying to just run to feature, it doesn’t accurately run all transformers before. Sometimes when trying to do a visual preview and view my 2D data, it won’t load at all - maybe this is because I have too much data. If I run my workspace and it hasn’t worked as intended (e.g., no features made it to the end), then if I want to try and re-run specific sections, sometimes it doesn’t pull through all of the data and tries to just run from an empty transformer. The intuitive user interface might also be the biggest pitfall. Building is so easy, so automatic that you quickly fall into the trap of copy-paste, and copy-paste again. This ultimately leads to unmanageable, cluttered workspaces. Few people can handle this well, and this is a challenge that FME will have to address in the future. The commercial model has recently changed, and actually makes it impossible for self-made developers without profit motives to use FME anymore. I would like to see the old, free HOME licenses return.
